How to change email ?

The email we created our bitcoin account with often gets hacked or lost for some reason. So it becomes necessary to change the email. But how can it change? For this, you can definitely change the email if you follow the procedure below.

How to change password ?

Many people create accounts with low quality passwords when we create accounts. But it remains a risk. So giving a strong password is very important. But I don't know how to set up a new password. For this, you can definitely change the password if you follow the procedure below.

I don't know if anyone else is posting about this. If this is done, please let me know.

Nice read. Thanks Op, I have been struggling to change my bitcointalk email and password, but I couldn't figure out how to go about it. Thank my goodness that I stumbled on this great tutorial. By tomorrow I'll change both my email and password. Thanks alot.

Can you please drop a tutorial on how to upload image, change the image width such that I will not occupy the whole page and make it appear messy. If possible you can also make a tutorial on how to put images in tables to make it more decent and aligned. Thanks.

I'm missing something else, like being taught how to navigate the forum or how to respond to what is said in a thread.

Another one on how to send merits, with pictures to illustrate would be nice. There has been a reduction in the number of merit sent and it seems to me that it is because people don't know how to send them.

Search the forum, it's been covered many times. Ideally you should get the size right before linking to them but, failing that, you can use the "width" attribute on the "img" tag like this:

Code:
[img width=100]https://i.postimg.cc/nVFVN93Q/Unconvinced.jpg[/img]

No, if you change your e-mail and your password you shouldn't edit your bitcoin address because it could show that the account has been sold or hacked by someone and is not trustable anymore. Your account could be red tagged for that. If you need to change your Bitcoin address staked, you shouldn't edit the former one but just add a new one while explaining why you need to change your staked address in a signed message from a former address posted on the forum or giving explanations why you can't access to your former addresses anymore. But I wouldn't make trades with someone who just changed his email, password and BTC staked address together, without a regular signed message from a former address.

On most cases, and as far as I know, when you change an email, it should send a verification code to the email which is currently being used. I never changed my email here so I can't tell it they have this security here, but I do think that that bitcointalk developers has added this security measure.
And for the staked address, I do not think that you should edit it. Maybe sign a signature message there and add your new bitcoin address if you want. Afterwards, it is necessary to sign a message using that new address.

Changing one’s email and or password, whilst relatively trivial from the perspective of what one needs to do on the forum’s software, might be viewed from a wider angle in terms of account security. As such, at the time, and after a quick re-read now, I found the following thread to be worth a whip through: [Guide] Bitcointalk account security. It does lack images though, what can I say …

Now here’s an unbecoming anecdote on the matter:

I currently don’t memorize my password, since I rely on a password manager to keep track of that. I’m also logged-in for the most on the device I use to access the forum, so I don’t often resort to using the password. Now to test if my password was in order, I tried to log in on a different browser, and lo and behold, the password I had in my password manager was being rejected as invalid. After trying a couple of times getting the same result (insanity cropping-up), I resorted to changing the password.

The change of password in the said scenario cannot be done within the forum (on my logged-in session) since I/my password manager had "forgotten" my current password (which is required to complete the procedure). I therefore resorted to changing it by clicking the "forgot your password" on the login page (of my other browser). From there on, easy peasy: I received an email with a link to follow in order to change my password, and went through with it.

I can only guess that I didn’t actually save my last password change on my password manager, and had actually my previously one stored there. Seems weird, and also somewhat distant in time, but it would be a plausible explanation.

[...] Now here’s an unbecoming anecdote on the matter [...]
Thanks for sharing, stuff like that happens to the best of us!

I had something (vaguely) similar recently, where I set up a fresh machine and then left it alone for a week or two. When I booted it up again, it wouldn't accept the password I had configured. I kept trying different variations and was getting pretty confused. I even had to suffer the indignity of being told to "be more careful next time" and could only grimace and nod my head.

Then, somehow, trying the password I had already tried 10 times before actually worked! Once it booted, I started typing the password into a text editor on a hunch and discovered that the keyboard was (intermittently) dropping keys which allowed me to redeem myself in the eyes of Mr. BeMoreCareful and improved my mood greatly. I'll beat op to make that thread and then share it to you so you can change the size of the images that you wanted to post. If I don't hurry then op could beat me to it.

In any case,  that a user changed email and password does the staked bitcoin address should be edited also?  What if a sudden hack occur and the hacker change even the email and can access the email of the victim.  Does changing email,  have some verification on that email saved?  Or the only way to prove authenticity is the bitcoin signed message.  I just read a lot of posts that they are hacked so the only remedy here is that process.
Staked Bitcoin address is what will be used to prove ownership of the said account and if you edited your staked bitcoin address with another staked bitcoin address but you also proved that you have access/verified that you own the previous stake bitcoin address then yes it is possible to edit it or add both of it.

PowerGlove, you have already solved my problem before deciding to decide. Now I can be able to upload an image of smaller width. Don't mind me, I was learning to be sarcastic,  now Poker Player has taught me Grin

There is no need to take it seriously. You see, I was also being sarcastic. Of course, I do not think he truly suffers from dementia.  Grin

I didn't know you were being sarcastic, now I met my doctor and he confirmed I have dementia, I'm confused what to do next.

But I wouldn't make trades with someone who just changed his email, password and BTC staked address together, without a regular signed message from a former address.

If this happens, there is just 5% chance that there is no compromise somewhere and somehow.

Wait, for a second, I thought this was a joke,  but then, reading again,  you seems serious,  a senior member rank who doesn't know how to upload, resize or align images on this forum is absolutely unbelievable~I thought~  Grin.
I needed to be sure you were not serious,  I had to visit your profile and go through your post history,  I discovered actually that this was an irony.. Indeed, you got me there, and I doubt if OP even understood what you mean.
