For me you either pick fantom instead of dogecoin.  It is an L1 with a lot of potentials and currently down a lot plus there are things a lot to do on fantom than simply holding a non utility dogecoin memecoin.  Aside from trading,  you can only used that as store of value,  if you are a fun blockchain user then youll find a project that can heavily attached to a lot of use cases and environment such as gaming,  finance,  defi, and many more.

doge has another alt party with their own chain L1. I think doge have more chance to make you more money, a lot of new things ala wild west, be careful for what you buy there.

It is always better to diversify your investment, in any industry or field, especially if you're unsure of the outome. It is somehow 'playing safe' from the possibility of loss. Putting everything in one bucket will put you on edge between losing everything or winning bigtime. So think about winning not as much as you wanted to, but having that higher tendency to avoid loss.

This is crypto industry we are talking about. Everything is uncertain, no matter how good your TAs are, things just don't work as always as you plan it to be. The goal is to lessen the risk of losing.

Buying fantom gives you more benefit compared with doge coin. Why? it has more utilities. Are you taking a rumour about doge chain project seriously? Pick Doge. It's decentralized, it wouldn't be in the top 10 if there is no reason for it to be there. They may call it just a memecoin but we know it's close to Bitcoin where there is no founder which no one controls. I bet my life the next bull run, Doge will sweep the shittier coins above the CMC.
The price is also one reason to pick Doge. Fantom doesn't sound like there is a big community behind it.

You can choose both, you probably won't make all your money in a single coin. You add Doge and Phantom in half or one or two major coins. Doge is a decentralized asset with millions of followers. I said you can add one or two projects, these can be good layer 2 projects. There are projects with tools such as nft, defi web3, which work well in their own network and make volume.

Dividing in both is better than you taking one of them, suppose one of them gets a pump maybe you will feel a little dissatisfied. I would choose Dogecoin because the current price is very promising and will likely increase exponentially in the years to come. The deciding factor for me is real-world utilities and applications and Elon Musk's dream of making Doge an interplanetary cryptocurrency to support the interplanetary commerce mission seems to be getting closer.

By fundamental analysis everyone will choose the Fantom because it has real use case. It can move to good position after certain time. But doge coin has nothing just a meme coin. Doge is a ticking time bomb if you are asking me personally. It has unlimited supply without token burn mechanism and the only thing that keeps his price holding on is the fact that Elon must is supporting it and a chance to pump it again in the future. This is the reason why there are still many blind followers that keeps holding and buying this dip even though they are just buying a falling dagger.

I would suggest you to purchase Fantom without a second thoughts. Dogecoin is just for leisure investment.

That's one reason why I will invest in both, no one can really tell what will happen to any project so instead of making some guess is rather take risk on both project, in this crypto space any project can do wonders, just any, even the ones that people don't talk about or call shit projects.

I don't think it's a bad decision but indeed we must know that the risk will always exist,

A no brainer for me is to pick Dogecoin. It wouldn't set an eye for Vitalik to continue supporting the foundation, he even donated for about $1 billion in ETH to prove that he's into it. Well, the thing is that you'll decide for it after all but I'm just giving you a clue.

For now, I tend to prefer Fantom over Doge, even though I used to benefit from trading Dogecoin.

Altcoins could also be as profitable as Bitcoin but the difference is, that BTC could provide a higher assurance when it comes to profitability. I don't know much about Fantom either but I guess buying Doge won't be a wise idea. You can still pick higher potential altcoins than a meme coin. There are still good top coins that you could buy since you have a big fund.

In my humble opinion Fantom looks more promising. Maybe it's because I don't like all the memes, although Doge has done well recently. And yet my choice is FTM because it has all the key indicators for growth in the future.
