Ramirez could be dangerous but not against Bivol who schooled one of the best technical boxers of this generation, Canelo Alvarez,  if Bivol fight the way he does when he fought Canelo then Bivol will have the victory, either by knockout or by decision.

But Ramirez is different from Canelo where the former is used in fighting in the Light-Heavyweight division compare to the latter.

Either way, Ramirez is a good pick since he dominated the Super middleweight division before taking fights at Light-Heavyweight. If Arum is against Russian boxers, then it's just a dream now to set up a unification match at the Light-Heavyweight division unless Dmitry Bivol will lose his next fights and that so his hold world title

Yeah, I don't think you can call it domination when he fought a wash up Arthur Abraham. Jesse Hart? Hmm maybe?

But I guess he move up in weight because he can't take 168 lbs, and maybe the timing of Canelo and Callum Smith moving to his division. That's the only reason why I think he didn't have the best fights in super middleweight.

But this time, if he wanted to get another belt this will be his best shot, but it will be very hard because he will be facing Bivol, who maybe the best Light Heavyweight today in terms of skills.

Any shared information on why Dmitry Bivol failed to secure a fight with Artur Beterbiev for the supposed undisputed match at the Light-Heavyweight Division?

Who do you think is responsible for that, no other than Bob Arum the villain of the Boxing world, he doesn't want his ward Beterbiev on any promotion only on ESPN

Boxing politics always deprived the hard core fans of this sport the fight we deserved to see when fighters are still in their prime. Bob Arum always want the big slice of the pie and we all know that Bivol's market value sky-rocketed when he beat Canelo so for sure he will have to receive more if he fight Beterbiev which i don't think old Bob will agree.

Bivol needs to dispose Zurdo in a convincing manner first so as to eliminate the doubt that he is just a one fight wonder and with that he deserve a shot of unifying the light heavy weight title.

why should Bob Arum so concern about them, let the Russians fight each other forchristsake those guys loves boxing so much like the Mexicans. while these boxers are younger, allow them to make money since Arum is also making money thru them. i doubt Russians like Beterveiv nor Bivol will care in the end.

Bivol vs Ramirez fight will be explosive. we're all fedup with all the mismatch Arum is setting.

I am curious as to the odds. I think there are still no odds released yet by top sportsbooks for this fight?

I am not very familiar with this Gilberto Ramirez but it seems he's got a good chance against Bivol. He has an amazing record and looking at his stats it seems he has some advantages against Bivol. They're on the same age but Ramirez has already a lot more experience than Bivol. And taking into consideration Bivol's last fight against a smaller opponent, he did nothing special really. I guess it's time to take a look at few of Ramirez's fights and see if he's worth a small amount for this match.

Bivol's name was a bit hyped for sure because he defeated Canelo Alvarez recently but Zurdo is not an easy opponent either because the latter has more experience in the industry and has a greater KO ratio, not mentioning Zurdo's height and reach advantage while he is also in the same age as Bivol.
Can't really underestimate Zurdo because the man even KO'd a boxer once in cruiserweight in just a mere 4 rounds. Bivol will surely struggle this time and saying that this will be a piece of cake for him is an overstatement because Zurdo has more chances to defeat Bivol and fight Artur Beterbiev in an undisputed match in light-heavy.
Without a doubt it is going to be an interesting fight, if I am honest I do not know a lot about Ramirez but I will probably watch his highlights and see how it compares against Bivol.

However even if Ramirez has more professional fights we must not forget that Bivol also has an extensive career as an amateur so it is not as if he is lacking in the experience department either, anyway it seems that Ramirez has a better KO ratio than Bivol, which is more of a technical fighter and prefers to score points than to go for the KO, so it seems as an interesting match up when it comes to styles.

Dont rush making bets and judging fighter by stats. Ramizer record was build on fighting as a young boxer. As a real professional adult boxer he had only several fights. In fact, he is from super middle weight division. Just like Canelo, just like a boxer Bivol won in a dominant way. This fight is going to as Bivol vs Canelo, but with a weak or less experienced version of Canelo. I think that Bivol is going to persuasively win by points.

Yep, the greatest opponent he fight so far is Jesse Hart, but he's no longer a great boxers since if you watch his recent fight, he's only run away inside the ring. I wonder why he doesn't want to fight Canelo or GGG? I think he just kind of a boxer who want to maintain his record and cherry pick weak boxers.

Though Ramirez never had any losses, but if he fight Bivol he could lose via KO since Bivol have higher power than the rest boxers he ever fought so far.

I guess there are more details that we are not aware, and yes it's boxing politics, if the fighter or his promoter is tied to a certain network due to contracts then obviously he can't just fight on the other side.

Bivol vs Ramirez fight will be explosive. we're all fedup with all the mismatch Arum is setting.

Not sure if this is going to be explosive, it's probably a mistmatch waiting to be happen because this fighters are not in the same league. Bivol and Beterviev are just above the current set of LHW boxers.

Yep, but as pointed out, most of his opponents are either old or has no name in the 175 lbs. And Ramirez might have the experience based on his numbers of fights, but it could also mean that he has wear and tear already.

Of course this is boxing and the fight can change by just one punch, but I think Bivol also has a good chin and his boxing IQ is improving specially on what he displays when he fought Canelo. He just focus on the game plan and didn't bite when Canelo is egging him to come forward.

Undefeated with 44 wins, and 30 of that are coming from KO, that's special.

Maybe he's trying to accomplish what Canelo failed to do, like what you said both Canelo and GGG are available from his original weight division

he can negotiate and make a deal either one of these two famous fighters from this division. Or, we might see a classic setup where Canelo will win

against GGG then Ramirez will win against Bivol, the scenario that more money might flow if fans will bite that possible upcoming fight right?

For now, we will have to wait for both fights and hope to see a more interesting match up to come.

in my opinion Dmitry Bivol will win this fight without sweating too much, when I say without sweating too much I mean he won't be extremely exhausted after the fight, it's a fight I'll bet on when I see it on stake.com I'm confident that Dmitry Bivol wins this fight, and about Canelo Alvarez,  Grin I think he will skip this rematch next year, I doubt they will fight, I could be wrong
I have never seen a boxing fight where both sides won't sweat, not to talk about someone winning without a sweat.
I understand you maybe be a fan of Dmitry Bivol but try to check the record of the two fighters to see the most experience fighter and how they both performed when they face the same opponent which is Sullivan Barrera.
In my opinion, Zurdo Ramirez has a huge chance to beat Dmitry Bivol.

Bivol will surely struggle this time and saying that this will be a piece of cake for him is an overstatement because Zurdo has more chances to defeat Bivol and fight Artur Beterbiev in an undisputed match in light-heavy.

It goes with the name, if you beat Canelo by a unanimous decision when Canelo is knocking out every champion that comes along then it only means you are a special fighter I know Zurdo is a good fighter with a good punch but its only good when he can hit his opponent, Canelo is good and a knock out artist but when he fought Bivol he cannot hit him and there's always counter every time he throws, you are a superior boxer when you can hit and not get hit, and Bivol is good at doing that.
@mirakal I understand why people hyped Dmitry Bivol due to his winning when he fought against Canelo and I could remember correctly I am among the boxing that believe him to be the winner of the fight then but that doesn't mean we should ignore the chance Zurdo Ramirez had over him.
Nevertheless, Ramirez also wants Dmitry Bivol to win against Canelo and for the record, he has been calling out Bivol for quite some time. We are talking about Ramirez who always believes the fans are the winner whenever he wins a fight.

@fortunecrypto both Ramirez, Canelo, and Dmitry Bivol are a good fight but only the best fighter who also make good use of his chance will be the winner.

Maybe, but looking at Ramirez resume, I'm not that much familiar with his opponents. But still, being undefeated with 44 wins, yes that is impressive indeed. He is also a champion in 168 if I'm not mistaken, but just decided to go up in weight class and yet still maintain his undefeated record. As for Bivol, he shot to stardom with that huge upset win against Alvarez. So this could be entertaining fight in the first couple of rounds as they try to feel each other. But once they don't the style then maybe we will see it being a slow game and maybe Bivol winning by a narrow margin in the scorecards.

That has always been the case, although it just like goes off when DAZN enter the network picture (although HBO has disappeared), so there are a lot of competing networks, SHO with PBC, Arum with ESPN.

So it will take a lot of negotiations on both parties to come with terms just to make this fight. Unfortunately, Bivol will have to settle with Ramirez and the same thing with Beterviev, maybe he will fight a relatively unknown fighter next.

Just unfair that Ramirez was being looked down on just because his opponents aren't that familiar. Regardless, those opponents are also professional boxers and Ramirez fought those within the same weight obviously. He will get not get in the top rank for nothing.

Since Ramirez was considered a challenger against the hype Bivol, it means he has the credentials and criteria to make it happen.

These 2 boxers are undefeated. We will now see who will get the first loss of their career as I don't think this match will end up in a draw.

We will now see who will get the first loss of their career as I don't think this match will end up in a draw.

and we will expect that the odds will be favouring bivol here. but i think, the gap may not be that wide considering the record of ramirez. when it comes to experience no matter who their opponents were, ramirez is of advantage. so we can't take that record for granted. at least, this is a good match in my opinion. we will see who will first taste their defeat.

The votes are getting in and it looks like Bivol by knockout is the likely choice for the betting public here. Yes, no disrespect to Ramirez and his fans, but Bivol might be on the best boxers regardless of weight class, with the way he shows in the Bivol fight. I've read a lot about him and Beterviev, but witnessing him putting a clinic against the best fighter in Canelo, it's hard to see someone with Ramirez style and caliber to beat Bivol.

Thanks for the reminder. I don't usually bet out of rush. I was just gotten curious because of this man's record. It seems he's a good opponent of Bivol. Stats are still important after all. Of course the record is not everything, even the numbers provided by the tale of the tape, but I actually give significance to them. Of course it can't be the main measure of things. I have yet to watch videos of Gilbert Ramirez fight. But in terms of the available numbers, it seems he's an interesting opponent.

44 wins no loss.  That's a lot to say about Ramizer.
A long wait, the fight will be on November 5. There will be a lot of analysis we'll see between the two from the sports pickers. He could be right about Ramizer not having many big fights with big names in his pro career. But he does have the reach advantage. Who knows a Southpaw may stop Bovils reign in his division.
