We cannot really blame them because having a fight with Canelo will also mean that your pockets will balloon because of the revenue that the fight can generate.
More on the money side, Canelo is a magnet when in terms of viewers. like what you have said, fighting Canelo will ensure you with a huge amount of money inside your pocket, no doubt about the very reason why promoters really love brining him in the ring.

Quote
Also, because of that fact, Canelo is already viewed as a trophy that they'd risk to get because defeating Canelo will indeed lift their names but unfortunately, defeating Canelo is hard to do and only a handful of boxers managed to do it.

After Bivol beats Canelo, his name now is on the top, simply agree with that trophy thing, a big exposure for Bivol after winning.

Indeed! They won't be showcasing Canelo if his presence in the ring won't fill the promoter's pockets, he's been one of the few favorites because giving him a fight also meant that the organizers and promoters will have millions of dollars, guaranteed! Canelo probably knew that fact and surely he loved it.

Yes, as I have said, Canelo winning against GGG proved his greatness again, so even Eubanks who is campaigning at 160 is calling Canelo now, or Benavidez, who also wanted the fight and says that Canelo is avoiding him. And then you will hear noises saying that Benavidez has a fighting chance because he is younger than Canelo, but we will see. No one has really put a dent on Canelo's chin, even Bivol at 175 lbs can't crack Canelo's chin. So it will be very hard from anyone in the 168 lbs to break Canelo at this point. He is still in his prime, so the best move for him is Bivol, he just need to win his fight against Ramirez to set it up next year for his biggest payday.
I think I don't have the same expression because I already expected that Canelo will win the fight, I mean, he have the most advantages than Golovkin. Surely he will do everything to avoid getting defeated twice in a row especially this time that his foe is already on the verge of his retirement.

Well, those stated names above can try their luck in going against the current Canelo Alvarez but I don't think there's any boxer that can defeat him for now in his most comfortable division.

Alright, is my understanding is correct here?

If Zurdo Ramirez will win the fight here, is he will be the one that Canelo will now faced?

Correct me if I'm wrong as it seems it's not sense to have a rematch with Bivol if he will lose here.

So Canelo might fight someone in 168 lbs, or another 175 lbs I reckon or might be his ambition, go as high as CW and get another belt and seal his legacy as the greatest Mexican with 5 belts.

I really do think so too that Canelo has the higher chance to win against Golokovin in this third match. Canelo has showcased his talent and skills numerous times already and I'm sure he will exceed the performance he already has given before to get this win and to of course, get the title, the prize, and bring honor to his loved ones especially his fans.

The odds of Canelo winning this fight is significantly higher than that of Golokovin's. Although for sure this won't be an easy fight to Canelo Alvarez since certainly, Golokovin will make sure to prepare for this to win as well. Perhaps a unanimous decision will be made for this game and not really a knockout because both fighters are good and skilled enough, in par with each other's strengths and power. Let's just see whether who among the two will bring home the bacon. But I am for Canelo in this game and I do hope Bivol will win his respective fight so that the looked forward rematch of them will happen.

Canelo has a rematch clause only on Bivol. So Canelo can activate it anytime even if Bivol would lose to Zurdo.

Canelo has no rights over Zurdo's next fights so if he wants a shot at him then they need to negotiate. Canelo though earlier said he don't want to fight a Mexican born again. But still, in a scenario where Zurdo becomes the WBA champion, Canelo-Zurdo is still easier to make since both are with DAZN. The other top options for Canelo are Benavidez and Charlo both from PBC and light-heavyweight's lineal and 3 belt champion Artur Beterbiev of ESPN.

I don't think Bivol cares much about the money. Former Soviet fighters are more glory hunters rather than money. Bivol already rejected Canelo's offer for the undisputed titles at super-middleweight. Bivol is a small light-heavyweight and I believe he can make the super-middleweight limit with no difficulty. But he opted to stay at 175 and openly mentioned that he wanted to fight 3-belt champion Beterbiev for the undisputed championships.

Canelo also said during Canelo vs GGG 3 post fight conference, that his body is tired and requires some rest. I believe we wont see Canelo until middle of 2023. But we are likely to see Bivol fighting someone else until middle of 2023. A fight against Beterbiev could be a good challenge.

About to 168lbs and 175lbs - I dont think Canelo will go to a middleweight anymore and prefer to stay in super middleweight. His last 5 or 6 fights were in in super middleweight and it looks like he prefers to challenge and move to light heavy. So no more small Canelo anymore.

After winning the fight against GGG, now Canelo has a lot of options, like what you just mentioned,
he can go up and climb to challenge the champion from another division, chances that if Bivol will win
this upcoming match Canelo's camp might negotiate for the rematch.

Cold flowing money that will bring a lot for bivol's pocket this time. If I remember it right, he got much
lesser from their first match.

Coming from this rematch, he might have a better slice or possibly a higher cut since it will be Canelo's camp
that will negotiate for that possible rematch.

Maybe right now Canelo doesn't want to fight another Mexican, but he knows that sooner or later he will have specially if Zurdo wins in this fight and has the belt. And his ambition is to win another belt  in light heavyweight, so it's either Beterviev or Ramirez (if he wins against Bivol). So it will be inevitable for Canelo.

@ inthelongrun - I'm thinking that the former Soviet fighters know that there is a lot of money in boxing right now and for sure they will have to opt to get more, than glory.

I am really looking forward to see Canelo break his promises lol. Because this is going to be inevitable for him, especially when he rans out of opponent. Zurdo Ramirez is even passionate about fighting Canelo. That's one of his motivation in the Bivol fight.
Things will get interesting when Zurdo wins against Bivol.  Even if he don't get Zurdo next, but it will eventually going that way anyway as Canelo has still have plenty of time before he end his career.

I guess he need to stay in Super Middleweight. Going to light heavyweight didn't worked well for him. He won against Sergey Kovalev three years back, but got beaten to pulp when he fought against Dmitry Bivol. And things are not easy for him in Super Middleweight as well. His win against Golovkin was not one-sided. The three judges scored the fight 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113 for Canelo, which means that it was not dominated by Canelo. If he had trouble against a 40-year old Golovkin, then how can he be competitive against guys such as Bivol?

If he had trouble against a 40-year old Golovkin, then how can he be competitive against guys such as Bivol?

Canelo should have started with some more or less easy fight in light heavyweight. He has started with Kovalev, that held WBO title, then Bivol with WBA. Why not start with someone without belts, but still is high ranked ? Like for example Olexander Usyk did. When Usyk advanced to heavyweight from cruiserweight, he has started Witherspoon. Usyk tested himself with real but rather old heavyweight. Only then he has got Chisora (top, but not top of the top among heavyweights) and only then he faced guys with belts. Ramirez and Buatsi were good for LH start.

I guess he need to stay in Super Middleweight. Going to light heavyweight didn't worked well for him. Maybe because he thought he can make a shortcut, but he failed on the first attempt, but it doesn't mean that he totally failed already because he is aiming for a rematch and will try to prove himself, if he loses, then maybe we can finally say that Canelo does not deserve to challenge a champ.

I guess he need to stay in Super Middleweight. Going to light heavyweight didn't worked well for him. Very close match against GGG I see your point and yes with a younger Bivol again if in case he will win as well against Ramirez, for sure the perceptions of the fans will no longer be for Canelo I mean the favorites might be in the side of Bivol. We all witness that fight and there's no doubt that even Canelo did try his best to box Bivol as the man continues to be fight and counter back, the quick hands keep him away from any threats that Canelo may bring him.

And moving back to this topic, if Bivol will be that same energetic, those jabs can create him good openings while protecting his critical parts.

He' good from both ends, not sure if what strategy Ramirez have to create an opening and make his attempts to box him.

It's because he got the privilege to become a instant champion in whatever division he want to conquer, like in the Kovalev fight, he is the weakest of the LHW that time, old, past prime fighters to Canelo was given the opportunity to fight him and won.

And same with Bivol, he goes right away, but failed. So if he ever goes to to LHW or CW in which he was green lighted by no other than the head of WBC that he can fight Ilunga Makabu. So that's what cash cow and being the top pound for pound boxer can do and will be given by any organizations.

No one fights for charity. Bivol is putting so much time and effort in to this, and he deserves a decent payout. If I am not mistaken, he is yet to receive any payment for his win against Canelo. Bivol is a Russian citizen, and there is a blanket ban on wired bank transactions to Russian citizens from the United States. The organizers should have taken care of this, but I guess they never thought that Bivol would win the fight. It is not the question of whether Bivol cares about the money or not. He deserves that amount and it should be credited without much delay.

It does not make sense if you fight someone and already aim for a rematch. The reason why Canelo has chosen Bivol, is because he thought that Beterbiev is more dangerous (almost every fight ends with a KO). Canelo has chosen a "weaker" opponent and failed.

I think that Bivol is going to pass Ramirez and meet Beterbiev in future to become an undisputed champion in light heavyweight. But Canelos next opponent probably is going to be Ramirez. And if Dmitry wins, I doubt that he will be interested in fighting Canelo for the second time. Nor Canelo is going to be very interested in that fight.

Yes, we are in the modern era of boxing, every boxer now goes for the money. And it's just just to hear that Bivol hasn't received the money that he deserved after winning against Canelo.

They should have done something by now that they have made the money to Bivol's part. And so the next fight, in cases he won against Ramirez, everything should be settled already.

Something that Bivol's camps need to make sure by now before this fight against Zurdo, like what you all mentioned, it's no longer the old day where fighters are more to fame, nowadays, after the success of those prime legends like Mayweather and Pacquiao, it's more on the money side, fighters are willing to do everything to enjoy the luxury of being the champ and having lots of money to enjoy life.

And I'm pretty sure Bivol also loves to enjoy that privilege after beating Alvarez and put his name at the top.

On his upcoming fight, he might collect more money now and if he will win the chance of making more once Alvarez calls
for the rematch.

Yes, that is already expected and indeed it happened, Canelo won against Golovkin in their trilogy recently. I bet nobody was shocked by the outcome because people already know the odds of Golovkin and his chances in defeating the prime Canelo is much more lower now compared to their first two fights because of the age factor. But Golovkin still deserves credits because I didn't really expect that he can still keep up with Canelo's movements and punches at his state now.

For Canelo and Bivol's rematch, I think that will be happen early next year because Beterbiev is currently injured that's why his title defense fight was postponed. That said, an undisputed fight might happen somewhere 3rd or 4th quarter next year.

Alright, is my understanding is correct here?

If Zurdo Ramirez will win the fight here, is he will be the one that Canelo will now faced?

Correct me if I'm wrong as it seems it's not sense to have a rematch with Bivol if he will lose here.

I think that's not the case, because for now, Canelo only wanted to settle his score against Bivol as the latter was the one who scathed his record for the 2nd time. Also, it really depends on the situation, Canelo have the choice whether he wanted to activate that rematch clause in their contract or not and if by chance Bivol will get defeated against Ramirez, Canelo might lose that interest.

But I definitely don't think that their camp will pursue Zurdo if in case he will be declared as a winner because that doesn't make sense at all, how would they defeat Zurdo if their Golden Boy, Canelo, is already struggling against Bivol because that's just pure suicide for Canelo. Anyway, as I said, it depends on Canelo and his camp on how they will deal with the card they have.
