Can Solana be the next Ethereum???

It's always the fans and the investors that are thinking like that. Although I've seen some developers that have been really focused on dropping down Ethereum or alike of their projects because they think that they're superior to those that are already existing a long time ago.
Based on its feature, it can be compared to ETH but that's just there and if it beats it then it beats it but, it's not all about that because it has its own purpose and goal.

Solana is a new blockchain network that is being developed to address the scalability issues of the Ethereum network. Solana can process more transactions per second than Ethereum.

The biggest improvement Solana aims to dramatically improve upon Ethereum's existing architecture for transactions, which could give it the potential to be competitive with or even surpass Ethereum in the long term.

However, it's important to note that Solana is not attempting to go head-to-head with Ethereum—instead.

There are a lot of coins that can have a better TPS than ethereum, doesn't mean that they will be higher in price or market cap, it just means it’s cheaper to do transactions there. However, ETH will still be second ranked because it is doing amazingly well with the projects, many projects want to be in either bsc or eth networks and that’s why it is so important for us to always have a foot in the door with ethereum.

SOL on the other hand tries to do one thing but keeps getting frozen chain at times for failing at what they promised they will have, and that is not something I would like to see which is why I do not invest into it, doesn't seem likeable to me.

On Solana new projects creating now, for example started new project Amulet protocol. Amulet plans to start with providing cover for smart contract vulnerability, Stablecoin de-peg risk, custodian risk, and eventually expand to a much wider spectrum of different risk types such as default risk on lending protocols, NFT asset risk, price volatility risk, etc. After success testnet launch on Amulet, I sure it will help grow Solana!

Yeah I kinda like the coin, it's sam coin after all.

But in my experience with Solana, it's fast and cheap, and has a good wallet (phantom)..I can just buy NFT or make some defi with just few click and it's not costing me money. Well they plan to launch a phone with Solana "in it"..

So yeah, I more comfortable using Solana rather than eth, cos you know it's become uneasbale if the traffic hit.

Solana the next Ethereum? I think it's just endless assumptions. We need to know that they have their own concepts of networking and their uses. But one thing is for sure, Solana transaction fee is still the best.

I doubt it can be the next Ethereum. Why do we actually need "another" Ethereum? We already have one. Why not focus on something else. Why not make something better than Ethereum instead of the next Ethereum? Ethereum seems to be doing fine right now. When the next phase of the Ethereum merge takes place (sharding and the rests), it will have solved most of it's problem.
Solana network has a lot of issue filled with congestions and outages. A network that can't run smoothly has no chance of taking over Ethereum. It will be "just another coin" trying to be Ethereum.

I am very confused with questions like this. why so many people have thoughts like this. why should equate 1 coin with other coins. I think that having thoughts like this is a wrong thing. because the growth of altcoins has a different way and character. so let's not equate ethereum and solona because forever solona will still be solona and ethereum will continue to be ethereum.

I don't think it will be possible, it's just a euphoria from Solana's supporters, although I admit that cheap transactions on the Solana network are quite good but sometimes it's not always good when the Solana network is always having problems and problems as an example here

solana is fast becoming a favorite but will soon be abandoned due to bad work but I'm not a FUD I'm just stating facts, I've sold my solana and don't expect it to be the next ETH

For now Ethereum is still the second largest among all cryptocurrencies, but Solana is still far behind Ethereum.
Although it offers fast processing and low gas fees, after Sol has repeatedly cut out the network, i think this will have a bad impact for users.
but it is possible that Solana will continue to grow and become great one day, let's just see how it develops in the future.
i thinks, maybe it's too early to judge Solana will be the next Ethereum.

honestly this statements doesn't make sense since ethereum isn't going anywhere, solana has higher chance of having its value gone than eth since eth having already went through various of corrections and still exists until today.
moreover, eth keeps having updates in their smart contract platform, solana will just be solana, same with eth.

We, as end users, have some justified demands. We want to use a cheap, fast and secure blockchain. Since Ethereum is not cheap and fast, we look for alternatives, but sometimes we overlook the fact that alternatives other than Ethereum have security vulnerabilities. Fortunately, we are not decision makers playing an active role in the market. Therefore, Ethereum cannot be surpassed by others.

I think a cryptocurrency aiming to surpass Ethereum need not convince us. Those who claim to be an alternative to Ethereum should convince the developers of Blockchain. We follow them somehow.

Any coin have its supportive at the heathway of agreement but what I know is that in all bitcoin is there monster and if it's called refused to increase none of them will have the ability to increase likewise the second-in-command in cryptocurrency which is popularly known as Ethereum, and Solana we know have good value but it can't take over Ethereum

Anything has its own place. People are so dumb by always comparing ethereum and solana. If ethereum will be fully improved on its scalability and we don't really need solana at all. I guess you must also aware about this too. People are only looking for profit.
In my opinion if it has been known as an effort from those people who hold solana to get more demands from ethereum holders

It can't be any way. Today I can't say that only Solana development is happening. Every good projects and their teams are trying their best to get the better position. In this case if I pronounce in the same way that Ether is going to be the next Bitcoin? Of course not. Solana and Ether are each better from each other's position and every one has a chance to go to a better position as well but remember no one can take someone's position.

After that first break and shutdown last Fall the devs said they'd fix the problem, so I thought it was a specific problem that they could account for. But then it kept breaking every 2 or three weeks for the most part. It is clear it's not a problem to fix, but a flaw in how they designed the system.

A blockchain that has to shutdown regularly is not something that will ever be useful or attain a lot of value. For a few months last year Solana got popular because some NFTs blew up on it. But that's all it ever had. Now it's a blockchain that doesn't even work. I don't expect it to ever get back to its ATH. And it certainly won't ever be a serious competitor to Ethereum. There are plenty of smart contract platforms that actually work who can try to be Ethereum competitors, Solana doesn't match that description.

Exactly. Solana is broken by design. You can't expect it to last forever if network outages become a daily issue. I don't get why SOL is still among the top ranks in market cap, when it's completely unreliable for mainstream payments. Whales must have some benefit by keeping SOL that way. People should just focus on Ethereum, since it's the one smart contract platform that hasn't experienced an outage or downtime since its inception.

Of course, the ETH blockchain is less-decentralized with the PoS upgrade. But it's still a better choice than Solana or any of its competitors. I think Cardano is better suited to compete against Ethereum than Solana itself. It's reliable, secure, and decentralized. If only people knew Cardano's hidden potential, the cryptocurrency's price would've soared to new heights. At least, people have a choice. As long as decentralization prevails, nothing else matters. Just my thoughts

Solana blockchain has a very high speed with about 65,000 TPS,  and the network shutdown when it attempted to do a 400,000 TPS and keeps crashing ever since, I understand good technology takes  time to advance with constant development. Ethereum has a superior technology than Solana. ETH and Solana are not in same class.

I wouldn't say ETH "has a superior technology than Solana", simply because it has a very limited transaction capacity. The only advantage ETH has over Solana because it's decentralized and reliable blockchain network for day-to-day payments. It hasn't experienced a single network outage (as far as I know), even after the PoS upgrade was implemented a month ago. Solana is just an overhyped cryptocurrency that doesn't take network security too seriously. It's only focused on speed and cost-efficiency.

VCs and institutional investors like Solana because it's the highest-performing blockchain in the world. They don't care about the outages as long as they're able to make the most money out of it. Even Solana's developers aren't that interested in putting an end to network outages for good. The project is far from being "the next Ethereum" simply because it's unreliable. I'd say Cardano would be a much better alternative than Solana. People are free to choose the blockchain they want, so ultimately the market will decide which coin will stay at the top and which one will go all the way down the drain. Just my thoughts

Solana Project, which is still new and has not reached 2 years, but the market welcome is fantastic so it only takes 7 months to enter the top 10 ranking, of course we hope that solana can become the next or even defeat ETH.

Solana came to the crypto market with a good situation. it supports the hype they created with the adoption of several new projects. even every project that they first released, will always be booming. many of the investors started to enter Solana.
but now the situation might be different. Solana is having some network issues. coupled with a fairly bad market situation.
regarding the use of blockchain, I think Solana still has weaknesses. but indeed the ecosystem is growing quite rapidly.
