What do you believe to be the best privacy coins (excluding Monero) ?

P.S: I'm not asking for financial advise and I'm not looking for the next 100x, it's about the level of reliability and safety those coins can offer.

Yes, this is the only privacy coin that I know of, Monero and then Zcash and Dash.

But obviously, Monero is top on the line, they even upgraded their network: https://www.getmonero.org/2022/04/20/network-upgrade-july-2022.html.

This upgrade will make Monero harder to trace and crack. So they remain one step ahead of the game as we all know that IRS offers bounty to software developers to break Monero.

None, obviously the answer is Monero.

Since you're only talk about reliability and safety, I think Monero fit both of it and I wonder why the reason you need the alternative coins? Though Bitcoin isn't a privacy coins, but you can take advantages to use Bitcoin mixer and decentralized exchanges, also own non custodial wallet that run full node. If you really take care about your privacy, Bitcoin could become 100% anonymous.

Monero is the privacy coin,it was trusted by many people. When you had a gold ,why you are looking for the silver.Gold is the expensive one, then the other metals.Like wise the Monero is the coin with huge investors for the long period.Monero is the best coin with my knowledge,I had my long holdings in some specific coin.Monero was the one among them.I had nearly 1000$ In the Monero,So it’s essential one to hold your funds in long run.

Tornado Cash was a privacy coin but got nailed, there are few others that aren't as popular as Monero and got higher tx rings too, but right now I don't see any that's with investing money on than Monero.

I agree, with some answers and observations above, No other so-called privacy coins that can offer total privacy and security solution other than Monero, so why need to find another privacy coin just asking. Because so far there are no other privacy coins in the market that were good as the Monero. Anyway, in the case of investment consideration, I think it needs more study because currently, some governments are very hostile against privacy coins, particularly in Monero.

They are great for people who seriously want privacy but I don't think most of us want to have serious privacy for our transactions.

In investment aspect, I don't like privacy coins because they are most favorite targets of governments. There will be more regulations on privacy coins as well as more fud against those coins. If you are investor, you don't need it.

If governments launch more regulations, enforce exchanges to delete privacy coins, exchanges will have to do it. Price will react very bad with delisting news.

I once knew their privacy coin called Epic cash. but only a small community, they are also in a small market but I don't know if they can be called privacy coins.

Epic: https://coinmarketcap.com/id/currencies/epic-cash/

I'm not very familiar with privacy coins, but many say the best privacy coin is monero.

Since litecoin was implementing zero protocol to increase privacy on its protocol and i was picking litecoin as my best choice. I didn't see any other good privacy coin but yeah i remember another one like zcash. This must become the best choice after monero and litecoin.
I just remind you that if total population privacy in the market become less and less. So many privacy coin have been leaving by its users and move to the legit one.

Tornado Cash is not a coin but a mixer.

~it's about the level of reliability and safety those coins can offer.

There is such thing as "belief" in regard to choosing which privacy coins offer the best solution. Monero is top of the mind since it has been battle-tested that even IRS has a bounty on those who are able to trace/crack Monero transactions, it gives proof that Monero has solid underlying privacy technologies. With that in mind, there are few alternatives, but still, it also has other different advantages and disadvantages, we can name the coins like Grin, Zcash, and LTC.

It is Monero, and why would you rule it out? We have Zcash and Dash as well, but XMR is our best privacy coin. Privacy coins are mostly old coins so they are usually used for certain purposes rather than an investment as their hype is mostly gone or not too big to make a profit.
Nowadays privacy coins are the target of government so it is very risky when you invest in them. Therefore, you should consider and exercise extreme caution when deciding to invest in privacy coins.

privacy coins actually have advantages, but we also have to know that privacy coins are currently being followed up by the SEC,
for example Torn, Torn has been banned in the US, of course from this case we must know that we must be careful to invest in privacy coin

As far as privacy coins go, the answer is still Monero. Like it or not, Monero is still the best privacy coin we have on the market right now. But whether they are safe to use or invest in is difficult to answer. The privacy coin is well designed with the goal of complete anonymity but this inadvertently makes the government feel uncomfortable and the government is treating privacy coins as hostile. So the risk here is the government. You know, once they've tried to destroy something, it's very hard to let it grow.

It is difficult to predict the future of privacy coins. While some coins have great potential, it's hard to say which one will come out on top. because for the most part, privacy coins are really special products. If you are trying to keep your financial identity a secret, then this may be a worthwhile investment for you, but beyond that, it becomes more difficult to justify in the long run.

Of course, some people also want to use these coins only as an investment. But in that case, you have to make sure that you understand how each of these coins works and gains extensive knowledge of blockchain technology as you said above, it's about the level of reliability and security that the coin can offer.

There were a few privacy coins that are better than monero but they just failed for unknown reasons, I guess that's because there was not enough attention on them, when it comes to utility few ones surpass Monero but this days it just feel like many don't care about privacy use case.

Not a Monero fan but since they already well-established on the field of being a privacy coin for a long time, I think they are on the top.

Might be more risky if you will choose other coins which is not that being considered by many. Who knows though if there is/are.

Is that just what are you trying to find out?
No related to investment or something?
Just looking for other privacy coins that can be considered as best?

Since monero is mainly build to escape regulations, it most likely will be removed sooner or later from cex:es, or users need to provide data on where they got their moneros. I am not really sure if that's even possible. If projects like Dusk get finished ever, people will probably follow them as they are private but regulation friendly.

Reliability may be possible that's if you choosing wisely, but safety is never guaranteed, even USDT a renowned stable coin isn't totally safe and may cave in at anytime.
In terms of privacy coin, I would advice you go for recognition rather than risk it all in some new suggestions, if you don't have any issue with monero or any top privacy coin I see not reason not going with it.

The list of privacy coin can be long, I have seen ads of so many that claim to guarantee anonymous untraceable transactions any where in the world, this could just be a bait to lure investors in, also recommendations and influences can be alter or bought so place first the security of your investments/capital.

Apart from Monero, most other "privacy coins" are either premined/with dev tax (zcash, dash, turtlecoin, firo, pirate chain), transparent by default (zcash, dash, firo).
And then there is Wownero, a memecoin Monero clone.
I'd say to stick with Monero.
