Blockchain.info iOS app: can't send / receive without verification

So Blockchain.info/com wallet now requires you to get your account verified (but only in order to do currency exchanges, bank account transactions etc)
However I noticed that in their mobile app it became impossible to send or receive the payment without this verification

When I select send option, for example, I get the "Select Country of Residence" screen, and below a warning:
"Why do you need this?" "Righ now, digital currency conversions are only available in select countries"

The same warning pops up in the web wallet/their website version, however I am able to close it and procceed to sending the BTC option

When I try to close this screen/warning in their mobile app, I get back to the main page (wallets, etc)

Is anyone else experiencing it? And also - is it possible that Blockchain may disable ALL of the options for the unverified wallets? (disable send/receive option)

Private key wallets shouldn't need verification but you seem to be getting a notice for swapping which is weird... have you tried reinstalling? I'm not in the apple ecosystem but on android, everything works fine.

They won't be able to stop you from sending and receiving if you have your backup phrase with you. I say ditch blockchain.com and move to a far better wallet like electrum.org-- send your funds to a newly generated wallet. Pretty sure blockchain.com will just add more clutter in the future...

There is nothing impossible as long as you are using blockchain.com wallet, but I am not sure if the wallet is secregating unverified wallet addresses not to be able to make transaction, but it is a private key wallet, you have full control over your own coins, download and install a better wallet like electrum, generate seed phrase, keys and addresses, transfer your coin on blockchiain.com to electrum.

The account verification (KYC) will straight ask for the full address alongside with other information,
perhaps that "Country of Residence" is just to verify that you're not in a crypto-restricted country and it may not proceed to ask further personal info.
I don't see that pop-up by the way.

If you're fine with that (disclosing your country of residence) then, you can proceed (if it asks for more info, cancel it).
If not, you can export your backup phrase to another wallet to use your funds without logging in to blockchain.com.

It's very possible because it's centralized wallet. The restore backup they provide only works on their own platform since they disabled the privatekey import feature. You are only reserved access keys to the platform, not access to bitcoins completely (you are not the owner of your bitcoins).

Only Blockchain(dot)com's 'Trading Account' and 'Exchange' are the centralized part, the other wallets (which is the topic) are non-custodial.

The backup phrase from the security setting is a BIP39 seed and can be imported to any wallet that supports BIP39,
the user has to know the correct derivation path of each wallet to restore each though.

For bitcoin, blockchain.com derivation path was m/44'/0'/0'/0/0 before, which is for legacy addresses. But now, it is m/84'/0'/0'/0/0 which is native segwit. Blockchain.com follow the standard derivation path, the seed phrase should be easy to import on other standard BIP39 wallets.

@swaggerlikeflow, never trust a web wallet, if you have successfully imported the seed phrase, best to still generate another wallet, like electrum wallet for bitcoin, move your coins on the imported wallet to an address on the wallet you newly generated on electrum.

The warning is self-explanatory. They need to be sure you aren't from a restricted country in case you'll need to use their exchange.

Not sure why it's redirecting you to the main page, but I believe selecting your country instead of closing the form should solve the problem and you'd be able to send your coins.

They can, but only for their wallet app. If you have the wallet seed then you can import it into any other wallet that supports the bip39 standard which I highly recommend you to do.

You may need to remove the address index (last "/0") from those derivation paths because it points to the first address instead of the whole wallet.

Anyways, by saying "each wallet", I mean each subsequent wallets aside from "private key wallet".
Each of those additional wallets' derivation path should be at account index 1 and above, most of their users aren't aware of that.

Actually, they are not wallets they are turning into exchanges not worth having a wallet that asks for KYC. There are lots of issues with blockchain wallets there are many people who were hacked before but blockchain didn't know the reasons and also there are lots of scammers who use blockchain wallets before you can use the search button above to find those threads.

If I were you better not use their wallet and switch to other non-custodial wallets like other said Electrum or build your own airgap or offline wallet.
