Naoya Inoue and Paul Butler have agreed to terms on an undisputed bantamweight championship fight Dec. 13 in Japan, sources told ESPN.

Inoue, a star boxer in Japan who is ESPN's No. 2 pound-for-pound boxer, will attempt to unify all four belts for the first time in his career (he holds the WBA, WBC and IBF titles.) The winner of the matchup -- Inoue will be heavily favored -- will be the first undisputed champion at 118 pounds in nearly 50 years.

The last goal for Japan's "The Monster" in the Bantamweight Division, to unify all four belts here.

A mismatch? An easy win for Inoue? Not even a big challenge for Inoue? Can't blame some people's view about the match as the distance between Naoya Inoue and Paul Butler is really that wide and long gap. I can't even think of a way how Butler can survive the wrath of Inoue.

No mentioned venue at the moment but it's in Japan. The first time Paul Butler will fight outside the United Kingdom. Almost all advantages are on Inoue.

inoue's camp should not take this fight lightly as paul butler may train for this fight very hard as he knows this is the unification of 4 belts. it is no easy fight for both, let's put it that way. but i am certain, bookies will surely favour inoue with the odds. but in terms of the gap, we don't know yet.
now, i don't know how will casimero's camp will chase after inoue if in case inoue will win this fight...

I'm not discarding the possibility of an upset and it would be great if we could see a good handicap on this one. Butler could win by out pointing Inoue but that's going to be a huge problem. It will depend on how his body and chin could hold up since we know very well that Naoya has real knockout power and speed hehe.

A total mismatch, this one doesn't deserve to have a poll on who is going to win but in what round Naoya will knock out Butler, this is another sure win for Naoya, and if Butler happens to knock out Inoue that will be the biggest knock out upset in the history of boxing even eclipsing the Douglas - Tyson fight, this could well be the last fight of Inoue in the bantamweight division and there's a possibility that he will try to conquer new territories like the Featherweight division.

Challenging Inoue is also a big goal for a boxer under that category, we know Inoue is a great boxer and still undefeated and that’s why they are choosing the best deal for him and both team agreed with the terms so let’s not think about everything in favor for Inoue because both parties already signed the deal. This may look a mismatch but I’m sure Butler will take this seriously same thing with Inoue, there’s still time to prepare and let’s see if Butler can really give a good fight against Inoue.

Not almost but all advantages are on Inoue I'm not giving 100% sure win on anyone but there's a huge gap in terms of power, speed, and skill in the first place Butler should not be here it should be Casimero, because of Casimero's carelessness Inoue was deprived of a better fighter in Casimero, this is almost a done deal but the fight, after this fight we can look forward for Casimero to meet Inoue in a higher division, even if the fight is not very interesting, it's still worth watching because Inoue always shows a good performance.

I don't know why others considered a chance of an upset here. The result should be obvious.

Let's be realistic here, Butler was not even close to the strength of Naoya Inoue.

Is there even any good challenge that Butler went through to acquire his belt?  If Casimero is only not reckless, Butler won't stand a chance of getting the WBO title. This match is already considered a win by Inoue and I'm sure of that.

I have seen this on the news feed while browsing my Facebook. Reading some comments there, I didn't see any positive thoughts about Paul Butler. This is also a mismatch for me and in the first place, it's just because Paul Butler has a title that's why Inoue has to take him to become the unified champion in the bantamweight division. I even think that Donaire at his current age is more powerful than Butler.

The funniest comment from netizens while I read some comments, is that Paul Butler should just give the title to Inoue without having a fight.
That was funny and partially true. Cheesy

This is going to be a hell of a challenge for Paul Butler. To be honest, Paul might not only lose, he might lose by way of knockout. Paul may be a good boxer but Naoya is much better. It's also unfortunate that Paul doesn't have a secret weapon up his sleeve that could suddenly put Naoya down. Paul could probably not even wobble Naoya. Naoya on the other hand has been knocking out every opponent recently. He is at the top of his career. Paul's is now coming to an end.

Even if I agree that under regular circumstances Butler will not be the one fighting Inoue and instead Casimero should be there, Casimero has been a complete mess for more than a year, he insulted the wife of Donaire which caused the fight to fall apart, then he was supposed to fight Butler at the end of 2021 but supposedly got gastritis, got accused of molesting a woman and then failed to follow the medical guidelines on the second chance he was given to fight Butler, so while I would have liked to see Inoue fighting Casimero I doubt he has his mind where he must and as such he could be destroyed by Inoue.

Only if our very own Casimero could have fight and bet Paul Butler, he should be the one fighting here. In any case, this is for all the belts and as his monicker, the Monster, it will be hard pressed to see an upset here. I think almost all the advantage is for Inoue. But I would still love to see Inoue vs Casimero whether in this weight class or in the next. Butler's chin is going to be tested here and hopefully if can hold against the best bantamweight right now, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a knockout.

If you want a fight that can extremely end in spectacular way, Inoue can bring it. Naoya is very comfortable with bantamweight for more than 5 years, so this will be an easy fight for him. You can not however take out the chance of an upset. Naoya still can not be overly confident.

Only if our very own Casimero could have fight and bet Paul Butler, he should be the one fighting here. Casimero is a very scary fighter same the monster, he is also a champ and exchanged tweets with Naoya but were not enough to interest Arum. He might be the next one that Naoya will KO.

this would be interesting, Inoue is a tough fighter and I'd love to see what Butler's strategy would be Against Inoue.

Yeah, IF. sadly, a lot of fuck ups happened on Casimero's side that left him being dethroned from his title without a fight. what happened to him should be a lesson for him and need to make sure it never happens again.

Naoya Inoue Wants Stephen Fulton Fight After Paul Butler

You can’t blame IBF, WBA & WBC bantamweight champion Inoue (23-0, 20 KOs) for looking past Butler (32-2, 15 KOs) because this is a cakewalk on paper. Compared to some of the fights that Inoue has had recently, the 33-year-old Butler will be easy.

It may be too early but that's what's going to happen because he has all the belts and no need to prove anything in that division so he needs to move up and conquer new territory for his legacy, it's not who will win in a fight between Inoue and Butler but on what round Inoue will knock out Butler.

Great fight, I'm seeing Inoue being the undisputed champion after this fight.

It's just sad that Inoue was not able to fight Casimero who I believe is his toughest opponent.
I should say that it's an easy fight for Inoue, probably easier than his fight with Donaire.

he should move up after this.

Probably that is because both parties already agreed for a fight, and for sure Inoue is really confident that he can win on this match which is 100% possible. Inoue compare to Butler is very aggressive and talented, it will be hard for an old Butler to follow the speed of Inoue so many believe that this will be an easy match for Inoue. Butler has nothing to lose here, and of course he can gain a huge momentum once he will defeat Inoue. This is still exciting, and it's good to see Inoue to be back again, the last time I saw him is against Donaire.

It may be too early but that's what's going to happen because he has all the belts and no need to prove anything in that division so he needs to move up and conquer new territory for his legacy, it's not who will win in a fight between Inoue and Butler but on what round Inoue will knock out Butler.

This fight could possibly end Butler's career it should end long ago the fight will not happen but Butler is the champion of another organization and Inoue wants everything because it's going to be an easy fight, planning a Fulton fight this early is a big disrespect for Butler, and we can't blame Inoue's team this is a very job and a walk in a park for Inoue, I hope Butler can still give him a good fight, he is also a champion.

Yes, it looks like it will be an easy fight for Naoya Inoue and Naoya Inoue's last fight is Nonito Donaire and a number of Naoya Inoue's hard punches make Nonito Donaire faint.
I love this kid, he has the courage and strength to defend and he will take on any opponent, and his attacks carry power well above his heavyweight.
although i haven't seen every fight but i have watched a few including his last match, this kid deserves every credit and plaudits he gets.

Nice early Christmas present for us boxing fans. As expected, we will see an undisputed fight and I believe majority will agree with me that Inoue will win this fight. If there's no betting odds yet, I'm expecting that Inoue will be heavily favored in the betting sites, let's see how Inoue would KO Paul Butler who avoided to go toe to toe against Jonas Sultan.

All winning indicators are pointing to Naoya Inoue.  This really looks like a mismatch but of course, we don't know if there is a surprise strategy in Paul Butler's camp. that will surprise the viewer.  If ever Paul Butler's strategic plan is to exhaust Naoya by using the ring, then I think he has to withstand the devastating blows of Inoue. Which I think he can't.  Remember Paul Butler had been stopped once when he fought Tete, so it is not impossible to see Inoue knocking him out too.
