Indeed, right mentally prepared in whatever situation will give a good insight into what you should do,

It's something that investors or traders need to understand before investing. The ETH market might experience
downfall if there are many traders that will sell and panic during the transition, while if all the solid supporters of ETH
project will continue to hold and allow the merger to pass and will not do or will not move their holdings. The value will
possibly pump or will maintain the current position. It's always depends on how you analyze and understand the project
that you are supporting.
I am pretty sure that the act of going from pow to pos could maybe have a bit of a turmoil that is true but we are not sure about it, I remember very clearly about 1.5 years ago or so, when there was a certain amount of ETH required to go to phase 0, we had a situation where people bought ethereum by bulk and put it in somewhere and increased the price.

I am not entirely sure but it could be December 2020 if I am not wrong. That means, if the same happens then the price could go up as well. On top of that, we are also talking about the future, so maybe it will go down or up during this short period, but it will definitely go up in the long run as well, there is no doubt about that.

Keep or sell ethereum before the merge?

I've made some researches and found plenty of rumors saying that ethereum will dump after the merge and why's that? (short term)
Depends on you. If you are into longer terms then you better keep your eth because I think it's expected to grow more in the future now that it's on its new version but if you are in for shorter terms only then you better sold your eth now if you bought lower because I think eth is already rising.

I agree on those rumors that eth will dump right after the merge because many people are also going to sell for profits but that dip won't last long because there will always be buyers right after it. For me I think I won't sell till the merge and forking is done so that I can get some free fork coins which I can sell together with my eth for a better profit.

do you have any doubts about it? if you have doubts about this then you should just let go of some of what you have, at least half of what you have will give you an advantage if in the future you have market potential to support it better.
but for Ethereum holders, don't hesitate to hold eth for a long time, because the potential of ethereum has stages every year in my opinion, even every year ethereum becomes superior

Running a node is not easy and expensive. And staking on exchanges is unreliable.  Grin But maybe that's why it will be profitable. The harder it is to enter, the more profit

Exactly. Instead of selling all ethereum waiting for redemption is very risky. We should keep Ethereum since this merge will definitely create ETHW and the previous ethereum fork in 2016 has also created ETC after ethereum forked, we will get it for free with 1:1 ratio. It is possible that ETHW will not be able to reach the high price of ETH but I believe it will bring significant profits to those holding ETH.

Selling ETH is too risky as it is unlikely that it will be dumped afterward, it will most likely bounce and be at a higher price than it is now. It's all speculation, nothing is certain it will happen.

I'd never say it was risky but selling our Ethereum is literally a wrong decision. We haven't any clue yet how this fork will affect the price of ETH but for me, this never has a huge impact on it. The FUDs seem it was spreading making some investors to felt worried about the incoming merge and likely thinking negatively. And this will affect mentally, especially those who still live in doubt about the capability of ETH and beginners.
But anyways, I let people/investors make their decision to sell and also for them to know more about Ethereum.

Keep or sell I think the decision is yours, bro, especially since you've done some research and heard a lot of rumors that Ethereum will be discarded in the event of a merger.
But logically I think that Ethereum will not disappear in the crypto market, so if you don't want to take the risk, I can only suggest that you sell some of it and keep some of it, who knows what you save is a 5x profit of your first investment, bro. .

after or before the merge I think it will be the same and better not to sell. for example, after the merge there has been no price increase but I'm sure etherum will go up soon. whether this is a coincidence or not, towards the end of the year as in previous years, etherum usually goes up in price.

If you are a good supporter of this asset, it will be easier for you to keep on holding,

Experienced wise the value of this coin rise when the market starts getting strong. With or without, they merge the direction.
still positive with each strong asset that we do believe that will grow after this current market downfall.

It's your call though and you are the one who understands and is responsible for any action or decision that you'll going to take
while waiting for your investment to grow.

there is truth to it like rumors circulating that after the merger it is most likely that the price of ethereum will be dumped. but if you think short term then you better sell it before the merger occurs. but if you think long term then you better hold it. maybe you can study the history about before and after merging. so you will find a better answer.and certainly cryprocurency is very difficult to predict.

This merger is a step towards solving some of Ethereum's biggest problems. The Ethereum network has been plagued by congestion and high fees for years. The new update is designed to fix the problem. I think, this not effects to price of ETH.

That's where merging comes in. Mergers are designed to have a long-term, not short-term impact. However, it won't immediately solve all of Ethereum's problems, but should lay the groundwork for future scaling solutions.

Those who sold their Ethereum before Merge won. They now have the opportunity to purchase more Ethereum. If the Bitcoin price drops, it is impossible to find an altcoin that can resist it. If the Bitcoin price drops, everything adapts to it. Ethereum cannot act independently in this system. That's why Ethereum faced a normal result. Footnote: Ethereum is currently trading at $1300. Before Merge, it was trading at $2000.
those who have sold in the short term they win, but in the long term Ethereum is really very strong,
especially with the change of the PoW algorithm to PoS it will certainly simplify and speed up the performance of their platform,
and I'm sure in the future many institutions will enter Ethereum and make prices Ethereum will increase rapidly, my target is 1 Ethereum = $10000.

Don't believe all the rumors, why will Ethereum be dumped? I don't think so, Ethereum is a very strong coin and it occupies the second rank in the market and the new coin produced after the merger cannot take the position of the original Ethereum, because of these rumors many people sold FOMO and this made the price of Ethereum drop a bit, but I expect a huge increase at the long term.

I feel like the decision to increase the price or not will be based on what happens with the transaction fee in the long run. If the congestion is over and the price is lower than the price will go up, because that has been the thing people have been waiting for.

It may not look good now, with the FED making the rates 3.25 and all, it's going to be a bit harder for people to have a bigger budget to invest on ETH, or any crypto to be fair, but when the time comes we are going to see it go up a lot, for sure. It's going to be a tough choice, but it could happen and we should be holding our ETH until it happens, because it looks quite promising so far.

Crypto always likes to surprise. It seems to me that in any sensible thought, a merge would raise ethereum. But again, the opposite happened and left people confused. There are always things that we don't expect.

Expectation over reality, it's a must set your goal when doing something,

if things turn against to how you project it, just focus on your goals and wait, the merge might not reflect right away
and the matter here is on how you anticipate and see the potential, if you think that there's a need to sell before the
merge it's on your decision, no one should influence you aside from your own knowledge.

Keep or sell ethereum before the merge?
In fact today the price of Ethereum dropped, maybe the market conditions dumped so that Ethereum was also dumped, maybe it has little to do with Ethereum merge. It is possible to hard fork ETHW, so that the price of Ethereum drops. Because they have to raise funds for ETHW. This is just my guess, it might be wrong. I'm not selling Ethereum, I think it's too late if I should sell it now. Because I also found rumors about the market will grow back in the near future.

I think the price of Ethereum will break 2k when the merge happens.  So if selling your Ethereum is on your mind just wait until maybe a few days have passed after September 15.
But just know other people will behaving the same strategy as you so you must be quick or considering setting a sales point on a exchange or what you use to do your trading.

The price is expected to drop to extreme levels after the update and even a little before it. This will continue for an unknown period of time until all nodes are up to date.
Price is always related to supply and demand, and demand is expected to decrease as the mining algorithm changes.
Currently, without the merge, the price of Ethereum is not commensurate with its real value due to the problems that is supposed to be overcome after the update. The price is supposed to recover before the end of the current year.

Well, it looks like you were right about the Merge and I was wrong. The price of 1 Ethereum is less than 1300 which is much lesser then it was before the Merge.

it turned out that after the merger process there didn't seem to be any significant changes, maybe now after the merger it is expected that the market will go down and then make a positive move, so don't worry too much about what happens to Ethereum , and when bitcoin turns bullish, ethereum will also grow, and I hope the price of ethereum will go up a lot next year

Maybe the best advice is to hold back, and see after the merger, because the current ETH has not reached a new ATH,
note do not listen too much rumors because most rumors are only irresponsible opinions and leave regret if they have sold our Eth

If you don't want to lose a lot of selling your 1/2 ownership so that if there is a disposal you have kept your funds in part

Most of the time, ETH moves when Bitcoin creates a big pump.

So I agree that let just wait for that run and see if what would be the impact, the merger was done and to those who sell it before it takes place they can buyback now and enjoy the discounted price. While to those who continue to hold better not to do anything and wait till the market turn bullish and most of the time, it will bounce up.
