It quite easy to spot threads from those who don't seem passionate about things they post. You kind of feel they are trying to impress others for rewards or attract attention to themselves. I wonder if they will continue to post if viewers, merits, or paid campaigns disappear completely?
I know of people who post their minds whether there are views/rewards or not. There is one specifically in off-topic section who occasionally post in his thread and don't seem to care about replies from others... That is the kind of forum experience I want... post from the heart. The passion and talent is very important so we have people creating threads that are from the heart.

If you join a campaign, you are paid, being paid can motivate you. If I would be truthful, if no payment again, the motivation will surely reduce, I will only prefer to post in wall observer and few other boards. I won't leave but my post count will significantly reduce. Being paid makes this forum more active. Those that spam the most are bounty hunters and 1xbit campaign participants. This forum is working good this way, with the merit system.

Accept this or you leave it, this forum is still one of the best forums in the world, and it remain the best crypto forum. You can ignor users of your choice. I go for quality posts, I do not ignor users, but there are posts I prefer to read. It all depend on what you want. You can even ignor all boards and stay only on off-topic board, but I see off-topic not useful for me, I am only there to report some spam and scam posts.

Why this when there are arguments on this forum. Don't you noticed one thing about this forum, they like to look for other people's mistake for correction and later all can agree on one discussion, sometimes some threads ended with different opinions.

I think it's mostly the people who are here solely for the rewards who are telling their friends that they can earn here, ending us up with more and more people that are only focused on rewards. Because in the first place, you wouldn't likely know about campaigns unless you dig deeper into the Services Discussion sections; that, or someone tells you.

I can decide to write a post from my heart about how my dog (Maxi) died a few years ago, i could talk about how horribly i felt and still feel till now, but nobody, utterly nobody in the forum actually wants to hear about that, that is why if i make the mistake of posting it in any section outside of the off-topic board, it would be moved right into there, that gives you an idea of what the off-topic section is for, posts that most members here do not care about, it doesn't matter if it came from the heart or wherever, it is not useful in the forum.

Needless to say that it is quality posts that matter, and not posts from the heart, that is why it was unexpected that the sort of paradigm you want for the forum is from a member's posts in the off-topic section, hell, i don't feel anybody else wants that. The way i see it, even if a member posts in a certain way that you don't like, if it is not spam and is quality posts that help the forum and keeps its integrity up, then we will take it.

Forum isn't giving any rewards at all from their own, members have chances to make money via campaigns but it is only possible when the user proves they have some potential by meeting whatever criteria required for the campaign.

Some people just want to express what is in their mind and just disappear, most of the others are really engaging in the discussion if we look closely into the discussion not just any specific pages from my observation.

Hmm, how's this imbalance of passion read in your own scale of prejudice? Huh? If you look at the whole thing from the critical aspect, shunning any form of sentiment then you'll understand that people don't take much pleasure in doing something they're not paid for.... Getting payments from a sig campaign doesn't mean- atleast for the Noble ones- that they're just gonna be overwhelmed by the greed and neglect the very fact that they have to make quality Post; atleast that's not how I see it 👩‍🦱

This is a fallacious statement,I'm sorry to say; IMO bitcoin talk forum wasn't made so an individual could just come around and talk to himself,more like a soliloquy or something?... that's awkward! It was made to be interactive all round* atleast to some point except you don't want 'em around so you need views because we are all teaching and learning in the same process so you can't say you're teaching people when nobody is listening, can you?

As for the benefits, I think the invention of merit wasn't a misconception and also users we're not meant to run away from getting merited; tbh I sometimes see alot of good Post that I shouldn't hesitate to merit but is either I'm too busy or out of Smerit.

Well. As for me the rewards in the forum makes bitcoin more familiar and famous in the whole world.  All the forums I have used in the internet, this forum has the highest rules. Mostly the plagiarism rule which is making people to avoid copy and paste. If there is no rewards people would copy articles and paste it here and got ban, because for them banning is nothing since it doesn't benefit them but because of the rewards everyone is careful about their post for the fear of ban and also to sustain (active) their accounts in the forum. Yes some users are to impress but not all. Some are posting to increase their activities, so whether you are impressed on not impressed is not their issue. While some are for their count post. In the process or among of all these people there are good posts. Therefore, you can't classified everyone as impressive posters.
Even the off-topic board you mentioned have a lot of impressive and shit post. The main thing is not even about impressive posts but the knowledge that is giving to others is the main thing.

Passion is highly subjective and can be interpreted differently by different people. Passion is also not mutually exclusive from extrinsic motivation to fulfil a task. Hence, a forum user can be passionate and get be motivated by a paid signature they are wearing. This of course does not mean, they simply come up with things to write to reach a post quota, rather spend more time on the forum and get to share what they think more.

As an illustration; I frequent some social platforms and would usually come across content I like there and have something to contribute to, but more often than not, I would not engage such content (could be due to laziness, lack of decire to enter a virtual discussion with a stranger, or laziness). On the forum, however, for someone wearing a paid signature, there is more of a motivation to type out what they think and share with others.

P.S, there are lots of spam posts made to meet some shit bounty quota. I'm discussing on regular users who have an interest to contribute.

We will see a dramatically reduction of traffic in the forum if paid campaigns disappear. Merit was introduced in January 2018 so forum was running without merit for most of it's life so far. If you do not have visitors to appreciate your idea/post - eventually you will lose interest to write. No one visits dead place.

I would like to know who you are talking about, maybe you can mention the person? Honesty, this is a Bitcoin forum. What kind of quality and experience about Bitcoin can you get in the off-topic section? This community has dozens of boards and child boards, and that person (whoever it is) makes posts that don't fit in any of those Bitcoin or crypto-related boards? What are the topics about then? Turtles? Van Damme movies? Glass eyes?

This is first of all a forum about Bitcoin with the addition of various boards that deal with other things as well, and in some things we cannot, as you say, "write from the heart" but must use common sense and facts. Your ideas are very well known to me (but not to most of the forum members, apparently), and I must admit that you have a very strange view of the world and of yourself personally.

I think there's no wrong to do anything you like and got a reward after did that, no one force to give merit and if the OP begging for a merit, he will get neutral trust and many users will ignore him. As for participating a campaign, it's make sense why they're more active since most campaign have a requirement of minimum post/week. If they're shitpost, their post will get deleted, so don't tired to report a low quality post.

I was trying to misunderstand the OP, but I had to refrain from that. In as much as a member of the forum is not shit posting, it will be difficult to determine if the person is posting to impress or to be rewarded. I am of the opinion that what OP meant by posting and not minding anything, is if a member can troll. Maybe I will have to troll theymos, moderators and staff to show that I am posting my mind.

But I have seen some people that will open thread and don't care to engage in the discussion, these are mostly newbies.

Though I agree with all you said, I think it is wrong to judge this based on posts or a user's posts on off topic board, this is because most of the post found on off topic board are moved there by the mod.

And on the other hand, I personally think quality posts, (as long as the post has good quality) are from the heart, one can easily spot posts that are not from the heart.
First is that they are far less in quality, secondly, they either look spammy or are completely spam.

In conclusion, it doesn't matter whether a user is posting for rewards, views or merit or whatever, as long as the post adds good value to the forum, i think that is what matters.

By sheer volume of posts made daily, there's bound to be plenty of the kind you speak of (though there's honestly no telling what's really motivating someone to write any given post).  Unfortunately this subject of conversation has come up before over the years, and I still hold firm to the belief that if sig campaigns and bounties were to vanish overnight, this forum would be a ghost town by the time the sun peeped over the horizon.

Actually, there would be an outcry at first, but that would quickly be followed by a mass exodus of members who'd never show their faces until there was money to be made by posting again.  Don't ever underestimate the influence these campaigns/bounties have on the number and quality of posts here.

It doesn't, really.  I'm also of the feeling that it doesn't matter whatsoever what a person's incentive is for posting on bitcointalk as long as they've got something to say and can write effectively.  There are plenty of members in campaigns who are excellent members of the community, so it isn't as though everyone who gets paid to post is a shitposter.

At the end of the day, the casino gets the gamblers it needs, both managers and participants get paid. Cycle repeats.

Hate it or not, it's a win-win situation. Not like all casino representatives actually bother to go through the post contents because ROI is utmost important to them.
