Storing Bitcoin private keys using dental implants?

Okay so as what the Twitter post says here, if we can store our value in gold teeth, how much more if it's related to Bitcoin? I don't know about you guys though, but is this really going to be possible in making our private keys safe when storing it on dental implants?

What would be the pros and cons of this one? Would love to hear your reactions, feedback or opinion about this one guys. Thanks!

Don't try to fix something, if it's not broken. Paper and ink have proven to be effective means of backing up private keys (seed phrase). Having multiple backups helps to act as a fail safe and should be encouraged too, but I can't see a single need to want to carry my seed phrase around in my tooth implants.

The biggest con is that a regular guy cannot do this by themselves and would need the help of a professional. Any aspect of safeguarding my seed phrase that would mean exposing it to someone else (who in this case would handle the engraving) is a big risk and one I would not be willing to take.

I personally cannot see any pros to this.

Not sure what would be the pros for this, but surely the cons would be the usual known $5 Wrench Attack.

Upgrade00 also has a great point that because it cannot be done alone, you're surely risking not just yourself but also your private keys to someone else since they are gonna be the one to do the work. Even if I have a trusted relative that can do the engraving, I would not even budge it.

I must be sincere with you, this is the most ridiculous thing, or should I call it idea, I've heard on the discussion of how to safely store our private keys/seed phrases.

I personally would never try this even if it becomes one of the means through which private keys/seed phrases can be stored , and I do not encourage any one to.

Like Upgrade00 said, I also see no pros here, all I see is cons, and I will mention just three.

1. (inline with what Upgrade00 said) Your private keys/seed phrase is no longer private since you will have no choice but to expose it to a second party who will do the engraving, and possibly to a third party too, who will do the implant ~ and remember the saying that... A secret known by two or three persons is no longer a secret.

2. It puts your life in danger - those who know you have such a thing planted in you can plot against you, they can have you drugged or even killed, just to steal your gold teeth.

3. It will lead you into being restless and always anxious - imagine you are asleep, and someone, touches your cheek (it can be your wife, daughter or son patting your cheek) and you quickly jump up from your sleep thinking someone wants to remove/steal your gold teeth - yeah, it is absolutely possible.

There are several other disadvantages of doing this, I just mentioned 3, I leave the rest for other users to dig out.

Quite an unusual way to store private keys and also not practical unless you are a dentist yourself. Otherwise, you are at risk of compromising your keys at the time of implant placement, as this will be done by specialists. Also, if bitcoin private keys is suddenly needed, then what to do in this case? Going to dentists again and creating another risk of compromise? It seems to me that this method of storing keys is very uncomfortable, in view of the fact that you can't put/extract key's info yourself without the extra help of specialized specialists. This is the biggest drawback.

Really does it necessary? Seems to me ridiculous. Isn't it enough to maintain a notebook to write all your crypto credentials? And of course, keep it in secure places with multiple copies. What if someone knows you hide your private keys on your tooth? Your doctor would read it and might be compromised as well. Where we have an easy way to save why need to choose complexity? Walking straight is better than walking the winding road.

But we know that people would really be loving on testing out things which is really that unusual whether it would really be that a good option or a bad one and it wont really be known unless we do try.

Its true that Paper and Ink should be enough but due to curiosity and that too much curiosity of a human being then it would really be likely on ending up like this.

The risk of having these implants is that never ever let other people do know because if they do then you would really be putting yourself on big risk.
Removing someones teeth is a piece of cake.

I definitely would not be experimenting on new ways to store my assets for the mere fun of it, when there already is a reliable method I can use.

As I pointed out earlier; it's not something one can do on their own, so definitely someone would get to know. Trusting that person(s) to maintain the privacy of my request and procedure is not something I would risk.

I have never thought of that but yeah, it's possible. But, who's going to do that way of keeping the private keys? IMO, there's no need to complicate things such as implanting your private keys to your tooth and having it inside your mouth just to keep it.
I find it weird and I agree to Upgrade that writing it down has always been proved to be one of the most effective way of keeping our pks and writing as well it with many back ups.

Better to store up your keys which wont really be part or hidden inside your body even into your teeth.There's much risk if ever someone do knows on where you are hiding your keys or someone
had been informed or able to know which would really be putting yourself into trouble or danger.Nothing beats out if you do store up your coins on a non custodial wallet which its keys neither
been written on a piece of paper or on hard drive or even on an usb which had been kept on safe place rather than on having those always beside you which it wouldnt really be that
comfortable for you to have most of the time.I wouldnt really be that too confident on having so.

I can definitely see a pro to this.  Personally, I have never lost a tooth.  They are always right in my mouth where they belong and I feel like they're pretty safe.  Being able to know that your private keys are safely with you like this would be a relief to travelers or people without a safe space to store their keys. 

You do make a good point about needing a dental professional to help "install" them, which could be a concern.  If you were able to do it though, it would be pretty cool in my eyes.  So long as you never let anyone know or else you may have boxers following you around.

There are too many ways of experimenting with storing your private key safe but I tend to agree with the post above, paper is enough, it's proven and tested.  Also, engraving in a piece of metal would be also the best way but dental implants?  I don't think so, though there are too many cons that are possible that will happen than the pros.

You can implant it anywhere in your body but make sure don't risk your health by just storing your private key, I remember this when I saw a short video clip regarding a man who implants the key chip on his car in his hand.

The question arises here, who does the dental implant. To print or place the private keys within the implant you need the support of the dentist or a dental technician who make the implant. In this concern the private key is viewed by one or two more person. Do you think this to be an effective way. Maybe this can work, but I find this to be the disadvantage.

If it's your main method, that's a horrible idea. Even if it's a second backup it's still bad. Maybe it's acceptable as a tenth backup or something. This backup is hard to restore, you'd have to visit a dentist and there's a risk that it will fail because it will get damaged during removal or it will degrade naturally.

The idea of carrying your coins literally in your body is interesting though, but I don't think that it is necessary for most people. It could be useful for spies, people on the run, nomads and others who don't have a stable and reliable shelter and are constantly under risk of losing their possessions. But it's probably better to put a microchip under your skin.

I am not so sure if this can be a very safe to safeguard somebody's private keys but to say the least this is already belonging into the bizarre category...and is really just worth mentioning as a form of an exotic entertainment but nothing to be taken seriously with. We already have some good proven ways to securely secure a private key...and adding this dental implant technique can depend on someone's taste.

The whole thing starts with the wrong premise, unlike what the author claims gold was never used as a store of value in teeth, gold was used because of its properties, it's totally noncorrosive and malleable, and some do use it as a sign of wealth but never as storage. Besides a golden teeth crown is just a few grams even with your full mouth full of gold the entire weight won't be more than 100 grams, it's actually hilarious do you think you could chew with gold teeth weighing half a kilo? So in the best scenario, you would have about $4000 there, in most of Europe the procedure to get those will cost you triple that. No, we're debating something that never happened.

So many ways to securely store your coins but you choose dental implants? Why would anyone do that? Not safe at all and one of the worst ways to store your private keys I guess. Imagine someone knows about the private keys. He would literally knock off your teeth to steal your bitcoins.

Pros? I don't know. Cons? Super expensive. And the pain and hassle you have to go through every time you need to recover your bitcoin using private keys.
