Some cryptocurrency community members on Twitter attack Apompliano's handle for removing bitcoin laser eyes from his profile and changing his thoughts on bitcoin. They view him as the kind of bitboy who praises bitcoin during the bull season and back-off when it gets bearish. Though he didn't avoid the attack, he went ahead to make a write-up about his recent decision on bitcoin "bitcoin can humble anyone Apompliano said; It allowed me to amass a large online audience, it gave me the opportunity to travel the world, and it opened up opportunities that I could have never dreamed of" But one thing he stated for sure about the claim in the article which I understood as indirectly saying, I need a time off from the Twitter bitcoin community is, Twitter is not real life he said; there is an inverse correlation between the amount of time someone spends on that website and actually getting shit done. Someone pointed out that he made that article to retain his followers that may be sad about his action.

In my opinion, some influencers like Apompliano know little about bitcoin. They promote bitcoin for the fame attached to the niche. Read through where he said; don't believe your bullshit and don't be the main character. He clearly stated that he is hungry to learn. That backed up my claim that he's not deep into bitcoin and wishes to study the technology better reason why he hated predicting bitcoin in 2019 to hit 100k in 2021. His prediction was close, anyways he was wrong. Technically he doesn't want to be the main character. Instead, he wants to be the learner.

In a nutshell, Many people believe those with plenty of Twitter fellowship, and they get disappointed along the line when the said influencers disappoint. They are many critiques tagging him on Twitter because he edited his profile - to them, it means changing his mind on bitcoin. lol. They are no point in deceiving people - when the market is bullish, those influencers go bullish with their tweets, and once it's bearish, they'll stop tweeting bitcoin.

However nothing is wrong with anybody's decision on bitcoin its theirs but, its normal to get ill responses on social media when something doesn't sit right with followers.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Crypto Twitter should know about the Wall Observer thread. I think they'd like it, if only they didn't have such a repulsion to 2000s-era forum software. It's much cooler than that amalgamation of a platform where nobody really listens to your speeches. It even has free beer.

And that laser eyes were really trendy among certain communities on Twitter, I never knew the origin of the laser eyes or the story behind them but I often see them on Twitter. Am also following pomp (that was because of sovryn project, he was one of the VC investors).
Imo, I don't see the connection between taking some time off Twitter and removing the laser eyes pic (especially if he was the one who introduce it) there must be something more to it.

There are different type of btc supporters, the seasonal and the diehard, I think pomp fall under the former category, but he should have known better the reaction that will come from his followers taking such a step. He could have just taken some time off without the profile change.

Anyone who follows anybody on twitter or facebook, or telegram or any other social media and cares / does what they have to say about crypto or any financial thing deserves to loose all their money. Anyone who is an 'influencer' and gives advice has an agenda. The agenda is to get as much money from as many people as possible.
It's just that simple, anything else you are just deluding yourself.

Indeed he would have done it without taking the laser eyes off his account, could it be he's making use of the clout he got on twitter? and its firing back at him though some people still stand by him despite his moves. I think he is busy building his company as he pointed out that the bear market is a time to build.

The mistake of investing into cryptocurrency because of the false predictions from influencers shouldn't be overlooked. I'm sure they get depressed easily due to the person whose advise they follow ain't following the same advise he's giving out. For sure they fill their bags shilling shitcoins to investors just to impress their clients and depress followers who may get scammed along the line.

Pomp, Elon Musk, anyone at all is allowed to have their opinion about Bitcoin and change that opinion for whatever reason they seem fit.
For Pomp, it could be a change market cycles, for Elon, a faux interest in saving the environment and so on and so on.
No one should build their opinion off what someone else tweets or says, just DYOR -Do Your Own Research.

The mistake of investing into cryptocurrency because of the false predictions from influencers shouldn't be overlooked. I'm sure they get depressed easily due to the person whose advise they follow ain't following the same advise he's giving out.
Anyone who can't take our the time to do their research on whatever they wish to put their money into, would one way or the other lose their money.

It even has free beer.

People can change their opinions there is nothing wrong with that. Just because he was shilling for something doesn't mean he will do that forever. Most people here bought an asset and sold it before. Why did you sell? It is either you started to think that asset is no good anymore or you thought that you made enough profits so it is time to enjoy them profits. We don't know what was Pomp's reason for this action but I don't think it is anybody's business. Bitcoin is not a religion, it is just another asset in the ocean of assets.

Some cryptocurrency community members on Twitter attack Apompliano's handle for removing bitcoin laser eyes from his profile and changing his thoughts on bitcoin.
It's freedom of speech and he does not do wrong thing if he says Bitcoin is bullish or bearish now.

Issue is not from Pomplitano, it is from his followers whom rely on his thinking that shared through his tweets and avatar. They must change because relying on influencers is bad because they are human and they can make mistakes with their own belief or prediction. Even if their prediction is wrong, you will be fine if you manage your capital well enough.

The problem here is the people who are really sensitive. Why it's a very big deal for them and a lot of issues because of this action only.
Apompliano for me is far different from Bitboy, I believe Apompliano is a very big fan of Bitcoin only or some can consider him as Bitcoin maximalist why Bitboy got a lot of haters because of he is part of some pump and dumps scheme or can easily pay to advertise some shitcoins public.

Why would anyone even care what someone thinks about Bitcoin or because they changed their profile picture on a social network? People who base their investments on what some influencer will say will really not do well in life. Who knows, maybe Pompi was afraid that Faketoshi would sue him next, because he obviously had his eye on famous people from Twitter.

In my opinion, some influencers like Apompliano know little about bitcoin.

I think you are wrong, he knows a lot about Bitcoin, much more than some others who present themselves as great experts. Maybe the man just got tired of everything and decided to dedicate himself to something else, and that doesn't mean that overnight he became someone who needs to be attacked because he no longer has laser eyes...

I think you are wrong

Probably I'm wrong as I don't know his knowledge capacity on bitcoin would have added that he wants to further his work on the bitcoin ecosystem, because his company is focused on building a job network for the bitcoin niche and lots of people already got jobs through his firm. He is integrating a new form of business into the ecosystem though such things exist but his grows real quick because of the fame he got on the bitcoin niche not only on twitter.

That backed up my claim that he's not deep into bitcoin and wishes to study the technology better reason why he hated predicting bitcoin in 2019 to hit 100k in 2021. His prediction was close, anyways he was wrong.

I don't blame him for that prediction at all and he shouldn't blame himself. Nobody can predict the market that depends on so many external factors. Nobody in 2019 knew that Ukraine would get invaded and the West would block their gas pipelines in return. Nobody knew that Powell would decide to not increase rates for years and then suddenly wake up and go berserk to crash the stock market. Nobody knew that Bitcoin that always managed to go up 1000% in the bull market would only make 350% this time and achieve the worst bull market in history followed by the worst bear market in history if we count the number of red weeks and the lack of any significant rallies.

I don't get why he removed the laser eyes, but it's his choice. Let him be.

People cares so much about someone stand for Bitcoin is not believing on Bitcoin itself but rather to the influencer that promoting it before. It's normal to change someone social media profile and remove old Bitcoin promotion because they still have a life on there own. He is not releasing any statement about leaving Bitcoin so who cares what willbe his profile picture, banner and bio.

I think they might change back again during hype to give more exposure for a change. He is not leaving Bitcoin high and dry but rather he just stop promoting it on his social media.

The agenda is to get as much money from as many people as possible.
Recent days I needed a help and I was looking for a so called online celebrity to promote a project for me related to bitcoin. He said it will cost me $25k. $25,000K to tell 30 seconds about my project. So that's what they do. They are not there to help anyone but to build their business, name.

Today bitcoin is bringing them money tomorrow when something else will be in trend they will move to it and will become guru in that too.

Someone who is really good at day trading, why would he needs to create a video that will take him 2 days to produce and care to teach you his secret?
An online guru who claims he is making millions from a company then why do they ask you to join their company.
All these are new type of ponzi.

I sometimes get surprised how much people care about opinions on Twitter. In some areas, such as leaks of new CPUs or GPUs, even opinions of people with small audiences and who make unsubstantiated claims are suddenly valued like expert opinions. With cryptos, it's a little different because a person does need a big audience, but having a big audience and promoting Bitcoin suddenly transforms a person into a Bitcoin expert to many, which isn't right.
I don't care who changes their opinion, removes an image or edits the bio. It doesn't mean anything for Bitcoin and its community, and the op is right that people shouldn't put so much faith and expectations into influencers.

I sometimes get surprised how much people care about opinions on Twitter.

It's not just Twitter, just look at what's happening on YouTube or FB or Telegram... Some have made a real business out of it without even having to leave their house/apartment. Although there are those who sincerely share their knowledge and do not try to sell fake stories and sensations, most of them not only do not know what they are talking about, but quite consciously promote crypto projects that are doomed from the start.

I think that in this whole story, Bitcoin was certainly used the most as bait for the masses, and perhaps the most obvious example was that of the late John McAfee, who first attracted people with his statement that 1 BTC would be worth $1 million, and then he used his Twitter account to promote various altcoins.

However, some people are more influential than others, such as Saylor, who has about 130 000 BTC and only 2.6 million followers on Twitter, while the famous Mr. Mars has over 105 million followers, and before he got into the whole story with Bitcoin, he had only about 40 million or even less.

But I don't think so it has impacted the bitcoin prices or anything like that so why should we care? See the thing is it's all about opinion and they can change anytime and these social accounts are way to express them but these influencial people play with you around and you need not to be fooled by them.If you are expecting them to give you advice and reasons for the support and disbelief then you are going the wrong way as btc is independent of its own.

Practically it is impossible to reach the level of $ 100,000 before the end of this year, although I thought that the laser eyes challenge was related to the past year, so why is it being attacked?

Twitter community is emotional and they look at one direction so sentimental populism is the tyrant that makes a lot of the decisions that are made there very wrong.

I do not know about Apompliano, but according to what I understood from this thread, he has not changed not like supporting BCH or scam coins.

When someone claims to be a bitcoin influencer... his followers!, they are really potential whales or at least as a whole they could influence the market...?

They are a part of the information ecosystem of the crypto environment but not decisive, although that sector of followers can believe what their influencer mentions as true, in fact something like removing or changing their avatar (laser eyes) what does it mean?  For me nothing for his followers drama, it's just that.

the most obvious example was that of the late John McAfee, who first attracted people with his statement that 1 BTC would be worth $1 million, and then he used his Twitter account to promote various altcoins.

No, that's not how it happened.
John McAfee was shilling BTC and altcoins at the same time when he made that prediction.

His first prediction was $100K not $1m. He somehow made a bet upon himself (to cut his dick off) if Bitcoin didn't reach $100K by the end of 2020. He then increased the stakes to $1m at some point.

Whatever this means to you, it meant a joke for John McAfee. If you didn't get it but took McAfee's word seriously that's on you.
