Just wanted everyone's thoughts on how easy it is to get bitcoin now, and what getting bitcoin might be like in the future? For example, I can simply go on cashapp and buy btc, send to a wallet I own the keys to. I can also use localbitcoins, paxful, I mean the list is kinda endless. Will that list become...not so endless in the future as the value gets higher?

I guess it will be another way around. When the world is already set for global adoption and bitcoin has already been widely used not only as an investment but as a currency too, then probably it will be easier to acquire and buy bitcoin in legit exchanges. Just like USD, when it has become a global currency, it’s very much easier to convert your local fiat into USD anywhere you want. And for sure, the government by that time will be more friendly on bitcoin users.

That is the point.Except in the unlikely event that we have bans, it will eventually become easier to keep buying bitcoin, just as it is easier to buy bitcoin today than it was 5 years ago. What will be greatly reduced is the possibility of doing so without KYC.

The OP was not referring to this, but I wanted to comment that in the future it will be harder to buy bitcoin because the price will tend to rise, so it is better to take advantage of it while it is cheap.

With over 10 years of bitcoins existence, it has never been super easy for one to get their hands on some crypto, with numerous ways to buy it. But on the other hand, with almost all 21 bitcoins being almost mined I see price going up thanks to the limited supply which should push up its price but not as high as its ATH.

I can't wait for the day where people stop asking me, "but where can you exchange it". That'll be the day. Despite it being quite obvious to people within the community, this is a common question I get asked whenever I talk about Bitcoin. People genuinely still believe it's fake money or toy money.

So, in align with that I don't think Bitcoin will get harder to buy. It's just going to get easier. As more people invest in Bitcoin the market gets bigger, and therefore the opportunities get bigger. So, companies will start flocking to it, and therefore exchanges. Plus, despite what people say, at whatever price we reach there will be someone willing to sell, and someone willing to buy.

That's inevitable as Bitcoin continues to grow, more people adopt it, more companies want to make money by offering it, and it becomes more engrained in society. It's already very easy to buy now in free nations - like in the US you can easily go to a number of exchanges to buy, buy on Robinhood, cash app, PayPal, and more. Institutional investors have several options now as well.

Where it should get wayyy easier in the years to come is for the traditional stock market investor to buy through the same service they currently buy their stocks through (their brokerage account or whatever) and to buy Bitcoin anonymously. Buying Bitcoin anonymously now is relegated to a few sites where you end up paying a pretty markup on the price. In the future, as more people use Bitcoin, and as government try to react to Bitcoin's growth more by surveilling it to a greater degree, I'd like to see a lot better options for getting Bitcoin anonymously away from CEXs so that your every transaction is attempted to be tracked by crypto tracking companies and the govt.

What about the KYC's? They are being rampant now. Started from the exchanges and now they are dominating the gambling scene. I am afraid this trend can continue in the latter stages. We all know that many of us are also allergic with these KYC.

This makes them experience a difficulty on looking for an exchange which doesn't require a KYC but at the same time safe and is great to use just like the ones that we know on the past before they became more stricter. Yes, you can now buy btc in PayPal but the problem with PayPal is that you can not send your coins or receive a btc from someone else but this may not be the case for others.

The question depends on how deep and wide crypto adoption is in the future.  In the current history, we can say that bitcoin will be continuously adopted thus the demands and application of Bitcoin will increase.  With that in the scenario, we can safely say that Buying Bitcoin via the different platforms will become easier.   The reason behind the idea is that, when there is huge amount of demand, companies always take advantage of the possible venture they can create in order to have a profit in a trending and emerging industry.

It is your choice to move away from CEX and I think that isn't a bad idea, though you might find it difficult by that time when the government decided to be on-hand with crypto regulations.  As the government gets involved with Bitcoin, I think that platform that offers anonymous buy and sell transaction will be forced to shutdown by the government in guise of anti-money laundering law.  So I think CEX will have its golden day while DEX will be restricted.

What i will encourage you is that to get your Bitcoin and hold since the price is stable in the market. And since the market of Bitcoin is fluctuating, i believe that Bitcoin have its own of propaganda, investing on it doesn't require much thing or deal, because i believe that Bitcoin have its way of increment. Just think of the future of Bitcoin and invest on it. That's my advice for you.

yes we are indeed required to be optimistic, but we also have to think realistically,

Don’t lose hope on Bitcoins. I mean it’s too early to say that Bitcoins won’t rise again.
The marketcap of the coin already proves that what is Bitcoins capable of.
Yes I too agree that it’s taking a little longer time, but trust me, the more time it takes, the more high it will bounce back.
Currently Bitcoins are at a best price, so before it’s too late, buy as many Bitcoins as you can.

Its not early but rather its crazy thoughts that bitcoin will not rise again since if we look at the past price level then compare it today we can see how much healthier and bigger the scope accumulated by bitcoin. Although we are in bearish season at the moment but all movements are tolerable and for sure in future we can see some great recovery the same on last bearish season where high ups came then it hit another record breaking all time high.

correct , it becomes easier each year to buy bitcoin , like in the past that there are limited way or places to buy bitcoin but nowadays? it is available in all parts of the world as even in places where there are banning? yet there are p2p that we can access and buying bitcoin.

There are more and more financial services coming for crypto investors. Many states in the world has positive idea about Bitcoin. Binance is getting special permits from many many governments. But in terms of availability, supply may be greatly reduced. That's because many are already buying Bitcoin. But since the price will also rise, buyers would also be limited to small amounts. There will still be enough for everybody but it is probably just in terms of sats. In the future, 1 BTC is probably not anymore affordable to the majority.

Without waiting for the future, it can also be seen that it has become easier to buy bitcoin today than it was in the past.
With the rapid growth and wider acceptance of Bitcoin will make it easier for people to buy and sell it but the difficulty here as everyone mentioned is that for those who value privacy it becomes more difficult to buy bitcoin. Binance or other centralized exchanges always require KYC before trading and this is really a huge obstacle for those who do not want to publicize their bitcoin ownership.

It's not much of dilemma really when you put some more thought into it. It's definitely going to be easier down the line, ignoring any bans of course. Since, a lot more people will be offering services, as we've seen them grow quite substantially over recent years. Seriously, try turning your TV on or browsing for a few hours without coming across something Cryptocurrency related.

However, buying a whole Bitcoin might be more difficult if it increases in price further. That's the distinction, rather than the dilemma. However, it's not a requirement at all for someone to invest enough to get one Bitcoin. So, really it's not a problem unless countries put restrictions in place that prevents the exchange of Bitcoin.

There are many ways in which you can buy bitcoin easily but this varies from one country to another, for example these services are prohibited in some countries like mine so I have to buy bitcoin and cryptocurrencies only through an intermediary, in the near future I expect these services to become available And legal in all countries (when Bitcoin is accepted in all countries of the world) then it will be very easy to buy or sell Bitcoin.

If there will be much demand from the people that will cause higher price for bitcoin, so maybe it’s good to see that global adoption will be realize soon. And when that happens, buying bitcoin anytime and anywhere will be so much easier and accessible. The only way it gets harder to find and purchase bitcoin is when the whole world will start banning it and prohibit the exchanges not to buy and sell bitcoin anymore.

Yeah I definitely agree with both of you. I didn't exactly consider Bitcoin's current vs future price when I was talking about its availability. But its obvious to me as well, Bitcoin's regular supply reduction cycles (halving) will cause its price to go up. And yeah, people will look back and say "wow they could buy single one Bitcoin with only 20000 dollars? that's steal". I also expect price to hit somewhere at least 100k in couple of years, nearly 5x more from today.

Some countries have many ways to buy bitcoin but there are other countries which struggle to find reliable merchants to acquire BTC since there bank might restrict them for doing so. In the end it depends on which country we live in, if we live in a country that legalizes Bitcoin it will be much easier for us to buy Bitcoin.
Whereas in a country that prohibits owning and using Bitcoin, it is definitely very difficult for us to be able to buy Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin is
now very popular, of course in countries that legalize Bitcoin there will be many ways to buy Bitcoin. Usually there are platforms that provide
access for us to be able to buy Bitcoin. Then for people who live in countries that prohibit Bitcoin, that doesn't mean we can't buy Bitcoin at all,
because there's always a way to buy Bitcoin, but it has to be done secretly. Because Bitcoin is increasingly popular and the demand for Bitcoin is
very high, it makes the process of Bitcoin adoption even more massive today. So I believe in the future all countries will legalize Bitcoin.
Then the possibility that happens in the future we will be much easier to be able to buy Bitcoin.

Well yeah, I think I saw how the process of buying Bitcoin has slowly become more centralized and harder to get if you want to keep your identity unknown. Cause it's now concentrated in CEX exchanges which require mandatory KYC. Even some p2p local bitcoin equivalents require some KYC in countries where crypto was under regulation. You can definitely see the trend and where it heading so I think eventually, it'll be harder to buy Bitcoin anonymously at least.
