Pretty bad scam attempt and definitely not new. Better ones at least pretend that they are from some government agency so people get more intimidated, while these guys didn't even bother to do that. Another "interesting" thing is that they ask for 1.8 BTC, and its non negotiable they say, so no wonder that so far they didn't receive anything on that bitcoin address that they shared. If they only went for some smaller amount, maybe someone would actually send some money.

All in all, an amateur hour.

Now, You may say "That could be a real hacker". Well, No. Because I know what I am doing and what I have on my all devices. First of all, They mentioned I love visiting Porn websites and do masturbate  Grin and they recorded videos and collected some personal data from my devices. LOL. I know what I do man. I do not watch porn and don't masturbate. I do not have any serious personal documents such as Personal nude photos or whatever they mean. All I have is some saved password in my browser which they could access to my exchange money. but sadly they don't even know I am a Bitcoiner. They assume I don't know what Bitcoin is;

If you notice, the hacker or the scammer gives you a general set of events which usually most of the young people do, and many people after seeing these statements, think that the hacker is real and knows his personal activities. Some may become even more fearful as they can't imagine this personal shameful information goes to their parents or to the near and dear ones and hence they may pay the money demanded by the scammers.  Huh
Only if people can pay attention to detail and not become fearful, they can remain safe from these scams.

I am not surprised, since everything is going digital this days, scammers have successfully invested digital blackmailing 🤣.

Only a fool will believe and fall for this cheap scam strategy, people are getting wiser and scammers are running out of customers, unfortunately for them, I don't see anybody falling for this trick because -
  • The 1.8BTC they requested for is too expensive and I honestly think that more than half of those they send this email to can't afford even 0.5BTC, you can only get scammed when you have the money to give to the scammers in tht first place right? Cool

Alot of their potential victims might have fallen for this if the bitcoin they requested for was within the range of 0.002BTC to 0.01BTC since this are very small amounts any crypto newbie can easily afford and can easily let go.

You could have played them off. In general, I think everyone should secure their data from unwanted people. I hear stories all the time about some companies' user databases being hacked, as was the case with Facebook. I know a site that provides the ability to protect and also the ability to maintain website documentation to make it easier for you to work with the site.

I guess you don't want that to happen.
Let's settle it this way:
You transfer 1.8 Bitcoin to me and once the transfer is received, I will delete all this dirty stuff right away. After that, we will forget about each other. I also promise to deactivate and delete all the harmful software from your devices. Trust me. I keep my word.
That is a fair deal, and the price is relatively low, considering that I have been checking out your profile and traffic for some time by now. If you don't know how to purchase and transfer Bitcoin - you can use any modern search engine.

You need to send that amount here Bitcoin wallet:
bc1quedrl599a5un37l507azmynwm24p2ngwaxl4qz
(The price is not negotiable).
You have 5 days in order to make the payment from the moment you opened this email.
Do not try to find and destroy my virus! (All your data is already uploaded to a remote server).
Do not try to contact me. Various security services will not help you; formatting a disk or destroying a device will not help either, since your data is already on a remote server.
Yes, this is a type of scam that blackmails and intimidates the victim until he pays them so that these scammers do not publish his sensitive information and scandals recorded in photos and videos on adult sites. I have received such extortionate messages a lot before, and I know that they are liars and that they did not hack the devices of the people who they wrote to them and stole these scandalous videos, even if they are honest, even if the victim pays them, they will not stop threatening and blackmailing him again to pay more, and they will not delete these scandalous videos and pictures that relate to him or one of his family, so the solution is to ignore these messages completely and not to believe these scammers, blocking them on Gmail messages, and not responding to their messages or negotiating with them.

There have been incidents of hackers hacking user's data from multiple websites. And they are trying to scam by using all those data. I also get this kind of email everyday because I used one of my email on tezos website. So you have to be extra careful while using important emails on any website so that you don't become a target of hackers.

I also received emails like this if it landed in my main folder I just hit spam or delete I never entertain such emails because it's not true and I will not recommend others to entertain it, because if you reply they will know that your email is active and you actually received it and they will include it in active email list and create more threats and entice you to click phishing links so just ignore it and never entertain this type of threat.

Very old method not new
I remember igot such emails about 4 years ago.not sure about the email you got but some use some softwarw to edit the sender email to look the same as your emailso they say check the sender email i logged in tosend this email ect..
4years ago and only got to learn of this, this year wow, surprisingly these scammers are still at it with these tricks and how they pick their victims is a mystery... Maybe compromised email addresses on the darkw*b Huh

Btw early this month a gaming buddy of mine received a very similar email, and thinking it was one of those pranks never took them seriously not until he got signed out of his PSN account, received some spam emails and was only saved from further damage thanks to 2fa and changed all his passwords... Mahn people are out there data mining  Tongue but still, how do they pick their victims, thought my buddy with his habit of game sharing was the cause of this...

This is not new but an old trick that scammers are now using in the hope that someone will fall, if you are not aware of it and some of what the scammer is saying is true you could easily fall into this scheme, real hackers will show you a sample like a picture of you watching porn if they really hacked your system but they are not going to show anything because they do not have anything.
Don't reply don't let them know that you have an active email because they are going to use another trick to make a threat, never reply to emails that you are not familiar with.
