What is your definition about good leadership ?
A good leadership is always against corruption and fights against corruptions. Any leadership that is unable to fight corruption can't count itself to be good.

A good government can prevent corruption, but doing so takes time and is not an easy task. If the nation is as corrupt as you said, fighting corruption will require extensive grassroots scrutiny. The majority of corrupt individuals in the nation usually become corrupt from a young age when they are exposed to meager amounts of money in a position they must have held and profited from it.

The corruption would have already been ingrained in them before they grew up to become adults and well-known government officials, and they couldn't live without it again. From an early age, children should be taught about corruption and warned to stay away from it.

We need Trump back, to get rid of the gross corruption of the Democrat leaders and Biden.

By 2023 there will be a transition of power and if the choice of the people eventually emerges as the winner, following the current state of an entire country i ask will good leadership be enough to fight corruption in a country where everyone is corrupt?
Yes, this because all the mentioned injustice and selfishness are a as a result of bad leadership, if the leaders are selfish they will not satisfy the community with they are expected to do. I hope the transformation of power will favour you in your country so that it take another shape for goo. Actually Good Governance can fight against corruption.

Step 1 to fighting corruption is getting Nancy Pelosi out of office.  There’s a chance she can be retired for good in the upcoming election and for the sake of America I hope it happens. Of course now that they’re talking about trading bans I’m sure she’s probably already getting to retire anyway. If there’s a politician that deserves jail time, it’s her. Martha Stewart going to jail over one insider trade while Pelosi has made a career from it is wild.

The reason why corruption exists in bad leadership is because their is no law that is strongly against corruption that is why people take things for granted and corruption still continues.
If their are laws against people that are corrupt,  the rate of corruption will drastically reduce.

Sadly, good leadership alone isn’t nearly enough to hinder and/ fight corruption.
In order to effectively fight corruption, there must also be accountability and over sight in government spending that should be available to public view upon request. A government not accountable to its citizens would get away with almost everything.
There should also be a vibrant opposition to check mate and keep the government in power on its toes. The press is also instrumental in holding the government accountable and should be independent from government interference. That way, the press would be free to investigate and expose any fraudulent and/ illegal acts by the government.
With these factors in place, there might just be a shot at fighting corruption.

I think accountability falls under the description of good leadership. For a government to be termed good, it has to be accountable, transparent and honest.

But, It may not be enough if the leader is actually good if there's a bad egg in his cabinet. Because should something happen, fingers would be pointed at the leader.

Good leadership is not enough to fight corruption. They need honesty in carrying out their assigned tasks, especially when it comes to people. Every state official has been sworn not to break the rules, but because of their greedy nature, they break them and even try to gain more power.

If honesty is still not with them, the government will still be corrupt and try to control everything, even if it means they will hurt the people.

I am asking based on the country where i come from. It's sad to say no one cares about doing it right anymore, everyone is carried away by what the stand to gain, their immediate benefit not minding the impact in the near future.

In a country where everyone is been monetised and selfishly driven will good governance be enough to fight corruption. I ask this because it has gone beyond the sphere of the political stakeholder as it dwells even in the cabal of almost every citizen. making good governance will require stepping on toes.

By 2023 there will be a transition of power and if the choice of the people eventually emerges as the winner, following the current state of an entire country i ask will good leadership be enough to fight corruption in a country where everyone is corrupt?

No leadership in itself is not enough. Systems must be designed so that there are strong incentives to act in favour of the collective and acting against is strongly discouraged. One of the keys for that is accountability, the individual knows that he is very likely to have to respond for their actions. It requires leadership to build that type of system and many times they do not come out right.

Every country corrupt, and no country is exempted but how the leaders conduct themselves is the issue or matter here. You should not be sad because the information of corruption was given to them (the leaders) by the people who rules them (the leaders) at the 1900 to 1979. Your country is a selfcentric country in which everyone care for themselves not not others, and that is the opposite of selflessness from the TOPIC in VALUE in Civic Education. Good leader can not fight corruption if all the citizens are corrupt but I don't think that all the citizens can corrupt in a country but those who not corrupt can fight against the large number of the corrupt people. In any country, the elites control the system. That is where substructure and superstructure comes to play. I have mentioned these concepts in one of my thread. 2023 is the year Nigeria is electing her new president. The youth is ready to vote for Peter Obi because he is seen as a good  leader for them but the elites will decide who will become the president in the country. Who are the ELITES?

Good leaders are good. But there will be more and more corrupt people day by day. If the leader is kind and considerate and firm, towards his subordinates, it will certainly make corruptors more afraid of corruption.

So basically, a good leader is also firm with his subordinates, will definitely reduce corruption, because they are afraid of a firm leader.

His subordinates must also be aware that their corruption will make everyone suffer.

For a country to succeed, it needs to get rid of corrupt practices in her government. Getting rid of it, won't be that easy cause because her system of government is so corrupt that it has eaten so deep into the country that in some way or another her citizens have indirectly gained or partaken in it. When the head is corrupt it affects the body.

The year 2023 is the year for Nigerians to make it right by voting against all her political corrupt leaders sitting at the horns of the affairs of the country.

Good leadership is not enough to fight corruption, accountability, rules and regulations, check and balance are extremely important to fight this disease named corruption. Country can only prosper if their leaders are fair and honest and have a good insight of all the current issues with solutions in their region. It is very important that all the Institutions are working for the welfare of their country not for benefit of any particular person۔

This is the challenge most countries are going through,  the system is so currupt that if a good leader who is willing  to fight corruption the bad leaders will try to frustrate it. It is not easy to fight corruption because it is not only a president that is corrupt, it is all over the system.

I think this is a question that we should all ask ourselves that are we not corrupt also, this our leaders we have been talking about does not cone from another planet, they were our brothers and sisters we are used to, not until we begin to exercise self discipline to caution our moral lifestyle in pride, greediness, selfishness and uncontempted spirit that leads to the corruption we are talking about, they leaders not just start misbehaving as they like, it all started from somewhere the place on negligence in showing discipline, the solution to the problems we are all facing today lies in our own hands.

Good leadership is very important for the prosperity and development of ant country either its moral development or economic development but I think that only good leadership is not enough to fight corruption.  Corruption can only be fought by all the institutions that are working in any country, the check and balance system, the accountability, the law and order .
So shortly everything counts if a leader is successful to check and controll all the institutions then he can fight corruption.

I just wish that most government leaders and officials are like-minded with the leaders and authorities of Japan. Why? Because if their name is involved with corruption and anomalies, they're the ones to judge themselves and they can't take the shame that they'll bring to themselves and to their family's reputation, and the worst is they're the ones taking their own lives. It's being committed to the oath of public service and means that they won't allow any corruption to touch their hands.

Yes good leadership can fight corruption. A good government will make sure that everybody he is working with is having the zeal to fight corruption and anybody that goes against this aim should be punished severely. Supremacy of law will be put to practice,i.e nobody is above the law and anybody caught will face the wrath of the law, so that everybody can be cautious of any corrupt activities which they are carrying out.

Good leadership will always carry the people along and share the resources of the state to everybody, where there will be no partial, meaning they will carter for the citizens, these will also reduce corruption, since the people see a sense of belonging to the government.
