I got a card from a cousin of mine, a GTX 980 and it plays games on my desktop very well bit I can't get it to work with Nicehash, I got error here and there, as per my old post on here I want to use this card as experiment to dive into how crypto mining works and now I don't know, is there any mining app that can work with GTX 980? Thank you

Try to find a working miner. Although what do you want to get? 6 cents in Ethereum Classic coins every day with a payment for electricity several times more.

It is better look each miner and read which one still supports cuda 9 i guess. If miner supports and you have chosen right coin for that it will work.
