For users who have been thinking about the real life usage of blockchain technology, here is an example. The Indian Police have launched a polygon blockchain based complaint registration portal. Indian district named Firozabad located 40km away from the world famous Taj Mahal have launched this complaint registration portal for the transparency of complaints lodged by the victims.

The project is developed to solve the issue of officials refusing to file complaint against victims and to avoid the manipulation of the complaints. With this people can easily lodge their complaints without fear and keep the complaints away from manipulation by the officials. This system will serve as a key system in the Indian Police System where corruption is a big problem from the lower level.

There are other blockchain technologies that are being used for day-to-day operations.

VIDT - they are using blockchain to keep things authenticated and to protect them from being counterfeited
LTO - using the blockchain to verify things fast and efficient, eliminating fakes from the original
Simbachain - I am not familiar with their services but I remember them being used by USAF, Boeing, and other big organization in their operations.

cool concept on the timestamp from VIDT

there is this Layer 1 blockchain called 3DPass which does something similar by scanning. I even did a video on how accurately it could detect a fake/copycat with a small adaption to the 3D shape and it did very well

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TlDE69Tmms

you could also use this tech to generate passwords with objects you have at home that only you would know about. If you loose the password you can always literally recover it by scanning the item. Just make sure it's not stolen or your partners throws it in the garbage  Grin

DYOR but if you want more details check out the ANN thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5382009.0

I fully believe in this project and I'm hoping it will revolutionise digital assets.

3DPass: Proof of Scan (PoScan) Consensus Mechanism that makes the tokenisation of objects onto the blockchain trustless, decentralized, secure and limitless. This will revolutionize decentralized identification, asset tokenisation of anything and everything from gemstones to precious metals.

What you've mentioned is the technology being used by the large companies. This is not much connected with the common man who does his living through a daily wage. What I've posted have given path for the people to make complaints through a registration portal. Just because it is developed through blockchain there won't be any kind of manipulation.

Myself have went to complaint and a writer used to take complaint and update it. If the person involved in crime is ready to pay good sum of money, then they used to change the scenario on the complaint. When this isn't possible anymore, it is a big success of blockchain technology.

This is actually a great use of the blockchain. I've been saying for years that it is a great tool for public ledgers because of its immutability, making it extremely difficult for other parties to tamper with the contents of the said ledger. It can also be a starting campaign to publicize government records that should be known to the public, but I think that wouldn't see the light of day.

India is a country full of technologically-inclined citizens. They can easily spearhead a lot of projects that will benefit a lot of people, and this complaints system is a start.

Blockchain technology has so many use-cases and we will see more real applications into societies including government-based facilities and management. Data registration is only one of such application for blockchain technology. It can be used in agriculture, commerce, finance, police, health and so on.

With more developments in this technology, we will see a longer list of possible applications from it. India is not the first country that has acceptance from government like this.

Anyway, I don't know why they decided to choose Polygon. Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain are more likely better options for them than Polygon. Let they get's started, make trial, get experience and they still have lot of time and chance to change to other chains.

Matic is developed by Indian team that's why. And it's faster and the transaction fee is cheaper so it must be worth it to use thier own.

With the population they have, they really need this kind of service which there must have lots of crime committed every minute while government officials also can be corrupt.

It can't be changed, which makes it a great tool for public ledgers because it stops changes from being made It can also help get the word out about public records Blockchain was made by developers who thought the financial system was broken They laughed at the idea that it could take up to five business days for payment confirmation and settlement in cross border transactions Blockchain makes transactions possible in real time even across borders and gets rid of banks which lowers transaction fees Blockchain can speed up the process of moving money since there are no banks and transactions are checked around the clock most blockchain transactions can be settled in seconds.

That's actually a good use for blockchain and there's more. It is that most governments are still thinking that it won't be into a good use for trying out this technology.

Another country that sees good use of blockchain and will do it is South Korea[1].

Blockchain technology is the next future of the world technology industry. Another latest news that I just found, Interpol also announced that they officially joined the metaverse space for the purpose of tracking and monitoring internet crimes. This is remarkable news as we can also see that criminals in the internet space as well as cryptocurrencies are becoming more sophisticated, which will help us somewhat reduce the risks when using the internet and investing.

I don't know, but such problems are too big to be solved by the blockchain. Let's suppose, for example, that a complaint against the victims is highly transparent, and manipulation of complaints has been avoided. Are these provisions implemented? If corruption is rampant in the country, adding a blockchain will not solve the problem. Blockchain will succeed in environments with minimal accountability for individuals.

Also, such solutions are expensive and the possibility of defaming victims and policemen is high, and if there is the possibility of deleting the data, then it will be centralized and other problems.

Well i have heard about this news last couple of weeks. Dear conversation of all the traditional system on Blockchain is too costly as it requires the top Resources in term of Finance and in terms of Computation. So it can take upto 5 to 7 years to be on Blockchain technology.

Yeah, ever since the idea of blockchain technology being a helpful tool for any industry specially government, they have learn to adapt it. I remember as early as 2018, the government of Canada has been using blockchain for their registration or at least showing their people the incoming budget of a certain government project ans how and where the money is spent (if my memory serves me right).

And then the whole idea of election votes going into blockchain so that the data can't be tampered by anyone, or manipulate in order for a candidate to win the election. This are just some of the real life usage of blockchain and hopefully it will gain traction for government to used it.

Corruption is high not just in India but in every country but if we can somehow minimize this, then it would be a big help for an average human looking for justice.
It gives power to the weak but how I wish it will not be abused by creating complaints that aren't true anymore. It should only be for public records so that officials won't get a cut if there's money involved.

I have tried it out the platform but couldn't figure it out where is the transparency that the platform gives. There is only a page to submit a grievance and the process of viewing the status that the grievance you once submitted. I didn't see any transparency check regarding any grievances on any issues.

Seems it like a basic form submission website where you submit some issues and it gets logged. Unless I'm wrong and did not dig deeper for this website system, I didn't see any blockchain utilization benefit within this system.

It is interesting to see Blockchain technology being deployed in a non-financial sector.  When information are stored in the Blockchain, it is difficult or impossible to change, hack, or cheat the system. This simply means that the Blockchain will find many more use cases in sectors that transparency is expected. I think blockchain technology is a scientific revolution of our times. This is just the beginning.

I guess this might suggest that blockchain technology is not really needed in this area. That is, this news is very much exaggerated, when it makes no difference to the average user when the request submission form is left untrackable. Then what difference does it make - is it a regular database or blockchain? There has been a lot of news like this before, ranging from real estate transactions to supply chain tracking. But so far, it hasn't had much impact on traditional methods.

The user can track their submission by a token number and their phone number, the point is it didn't show any information/proof it was being recorded in the blockchain. Truth be told, I did not know the reasoning for incorporating blockchain, if some authority wants to make its bureaucratic system better, using a conventional regular database is enough. They just need to implement an access/log record system where any submission by any user should be unmodified as it is, and those who are truly in control can manage within the system by just simply watching the access log.

With that in mind, transparency still can be maintained and monitored by the public.

That’s really interesting portal but being in India I have not seen much publicity for the same. In fact we have lawyer in our house but never heard from them regarding such use of blockchain. I mean being from the same field line they themselves never got any updates regarding the same.

This should have been published way positively on the news, magazines throughout the country so that everyone should have come across it. I’m little disappointed that I’m coming to know this from a forum but not local news. That’s amusing. Hope so this becomes popular soon.
