How I know about Bitcoin

      I came across Bitcoin on Facebook ads but Ido about it
 until a friend of mine who knows about cryptocurrency (Bitcoin) agreed to teach me everything about Bitcoin and how to trade and have my own wallet.

   He  taught me Bitcoin as digital currency or online cash that is used for buying products and services and so on.                                                                                     
 Bitcoin has been existing since 2009 but I was not aware of it untill 2021.I was having no money to invest after my friend taught me about Bitcoin time and also I was not having a concrete knowledge on it so in the month of May 2022. He has been teaching me. I have gotten small knowledge on it and now I have my own Bitcoin  Wallet.

Know that holding bitcoin is not trading at all, trading is very risky, it can take from someone just like gambling, the reason people that want to trade are advised to use the amount of money they can afford to lose for trading. Or maybe you just meant that your friend taught you how to convert fiat to bitcoin, that is trading too actually as you trade from one coin to another.

Hope you used a reputed wallet for your holding? Reputed wallets that are open source and having more features? I can recommend Electrum if you have small amount of coins. But if you want to hold large amount, best to get a open source hardware wallet if you can not setup airgapped device to generate a paper wallet or to have the wallet on the airgapped device as a cold wallet.

You can only know about bitcoin by the level of curiosity and interest you have in know bitcoin and how you channel those levels into researching, reading on and actively participating in Bitcoin active.
Knowing this forum is already a big win in you desire/ quest to know more about Bitcoin.

In Bitcoin investment, no it must start from a large amount of small money you can do to buy it with what you can afford, I'm sure if you don't work or have no income then someday when you are working you can invest in Bitcoin but the most important thing is that you have know what Bitcoin is that your friends have taught you so that after knowing everything you understand then when you have money then you are ready to invest without any doubt.
But still in bad and sweet experiences you have to pass because investing in Bitcoin of course must know the risks.

congrats because you already have a bitcoin wallet and understand using it. because you are a newbie, it would be nice if you read the available rules and guides, so you can quickly adapt to this forum.

it's really good luck for you to get to know bitcoin, I also initially knew bitcoin and this forum because of the teachings and invitations from my coworkers at the old company. until now I'm still active in this forum and have a few satoshis that I hold.

nice that you shared this useful story with us, although you still need to study. Certainly getting to know about the wallet is a good first step.

it's good to have someone who will explain some ambiguities and help you master the material but I would suggest you do more research on your own and read the experiences of others (this forum is a great start for that). it's about your money and you shouldn't trust anyone. I'm telling you based on personal negative experience when you trust a person and not a process.

What i advise you to get more knowledge nothing is better than bitcointalk, the amount of informations here about bitcoin and crypto in general are uncountable and priceless if you know how to use them, nobody will scrimp anything from you most of people here loves to get and give. You still have things to as you can invest or profit from holding. You also may find offers and bounty campaigns to get some bitcoin or altcoins. There’s plenty sections in the forum from mining to market place casino and gambling all related to crypto
And also it doesn’t matter when did you learn about bitcoin it only matters what you going to do about that.

Good to hear that your friend is willing to help and teach you about Bitcoin.
But you need to learn on your own and don't depend on your friend anymore and fortunately, you're here in the forum where in the place that you'll surely learn more. 

Just read sticky topics (pinned post thread) on this board (Beginners & Help) which help you to give insight and knowledge towards Bitcoin from the technology behind it and the right wallet you store it.

Well, good for you. Some were meant to be pioneers, early birds, while others were to come on the network much later. The good thing is, you know now but the best part resides in what you choose to do with what you know now. You can still be considered one of the early birds given that, its only been a decade and 3years since the bitcoin idea gained root and majority of fge world's population are yet go acknowledge and endorse it for a wider usage.
You don't need to earn or be in possession of so much wealth to own a few sat. Start where you can with a savings investment, buy with some apre cash and hodl until it materialise into something worth the time spent. This is not an investment advice thing, ensure you DYOR.

You have made a good decision to go with bitcoin and also seeking to advance in knowledge and your friend have also try in giving you the best he could from his end about bitcoin, but let me remind you this that you're just starting the long journey with bitcoin and in doing so, the more the go the more you learn and the more your growth, secondly don't ever make a mistake of entrusting your entire investment access (keys) with a third party including that your friend, that's if you're using cold storage wallet and if not, then using a hot wallet could serve you an unpredictable danger later in life and with this I will advise you to read better on the difference between centralized exchanges and decentralized exchanges, and ultimately never forget that your keys must always be with you alone.

If you have enough knowledge and understanding about bitcoin and trading, this is the right time for you to start. if you do not have the capital you certainly have to look for it. I can see you have already started something you will not regret by learning little about Bitcoin from your friend and also getting a wallet for yourself. Bitcoin is very broad because it has so many aspects,especially the technical aspect. Having my wallet is not enough of course you have to fill it up to start trading, moreover you don't have money means you have never traded, so I think this forum is perfect for you to find information you want to know while learning about Bitcoin and other crypto including how to use a wallet and there are even several types of wallets that you should know in this forum, it is important that you actively read every useful post.


@AakZaki it's true this forum gives too much information, including the OP if you don't have money to start it can do some work like airdrop, bounty, giveaway at least it can increase your money to start your own trading.

Now that you have the knowledge you don't have to relax and be lazy about it but there is more to do with the knowledge. You will keep building on it, this forum will help you alot to grow to teach others too. You don't have to stop at having a Bitcoin wallet but I hope you can invest in it by buying fraction of bitcoin like some Satoshi (hope you know what that is by now  ) because a bitcoin can be expensive to buy, you start small to accumulate it. Many people have accumulated fractions of bitcoin a longtime, they are buying in small unit of Satoshi.

Good to have a friend always supporting you to learn about bitcoin since its very rare to see people teaching people for free. Maybe its good if you pursue and be more eager to search for further knowledge about it since its a great accomplishment for you also with the person who teach you if they see you succeed.

Also you must know that acquiring bitcoin is not only ends with buying it as investment. You can also gain it by working on some various type of jobs here and that is your second assignment which is to learn earning bitcoin thru the efforts you exert on some jobs.

also make sure you have a better understanding of bearish and bullish markets,
learn the flow of the market, because it is important in crypto/bitcoin.

You also don't be careless in investing in crypto/bitcoin, because investing in crypto is quite risky too, so you have to prepare your mental and mind to invest in crypto/bitcoin.

I have been correcting people on this particular issue both in offline and forum here. I don't know why bitcoiners here are still making this mistake. Bitcoin was created in the year 2008 and launched in the year 2009. If bitcoin was invented or created in 2009 then what happened in 2008 on bitcoin? When we see mistakes or wrong information on bitcoin and we know very sure that the information is wrong, we should correct it. So that the wrong information would not go viral to give the wrong information. For the OP if you want to advance in the bitcoin knowledge, you must be active in the forum.

Hopefully you are making money in trading, because it is very difficult specially at this trying times. We are in a bear market if you are not aware of it so the price could stagnant for a while and I will assume that you are a beginner and so very hard to squeeze and make profits out of it.

I guess my advise is just to continue with your journey and learn like everyday. As for your bitcoin wallet, secure it, keep your private key and mnemonics phrase, do not share it to someone not even to your friend who teach you bitcoin.
