Years ago, I was introduced to the Bitcointalk Forum, by a serial bounty hunters, who gave me an advice that I could make money from the forum. So I rushed off and started participating in Bounty. Until a faithful day, I came across HENRI CARTIER post about Merit give away, I felt it was an opportunity to rank up and make more money, then I took part, this was the beginning of a bright future for me.

As a result of my post, I'd encounter a lot of criticism from senior members of the community, but this word of encouragement from Henri https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5215727.msg53750802#msg53750802 changed my life, I took off all bounty related post and started learning.

Today my life has completely changed, I have so much knowledge about Crypto in general now, and I'm worth some good thing as far as Bitcoin is concerned. I'm sharing this to inspire every bounty hunters out there, Start a life today is worth more than the penny you alway get from Bounty.

Henri, I realized you've not been active for the past 2 years now. But I just want to say a very big thank you for encouraging me.

What can you tell us in practice?
Do I understand correctly that you are waiting for the next “Henri Cartier,”  who will again reward you with merits and motivate you to develop?

While the advice to stop spending the time with the bounties (since most are worthless) is a good advice, I am not convinced about the knowledge you claim.
I am sure that in so much time you had plenty of ways to learn, but with so small activity on the forum there are also plenty of chances you've misunderstood something and didn't ask here.

Of course, I may be wrong, still, be careful, ask first, don't be overly confident with things you don't know for sure and keep in mind that all of us keep learning things during our entire lifetime.

I can't see the correlation between the topic title and the content. If you have learned a this g or two on the forum, you don't need to announce that in a thread; teach others or apply what you've learnt practically.

You have cleared off all of your bounty spam posts, but are yet to replace then with actual quality content. And with only 3 posts in 2022 and none in 2021, there's little to no activity on your account. You of course could be reading around the forum, without actually joining the discussions, and good for you if that's the case.

I think this talks specifically more about you than others you might want to advise, why not work on yourself to improve more better than you've been over time, a baby should have grown enough to be fed with milk anymore, it's now time you learn how to chew meat, this forum will be more interested inseing you grow rather than hearing you giving advice on others to grow, take the lead first and be a good example just as someone has helped you get to where you're, take more steps to move further.

Even Henri Cartier will agree with you that this is just coming at an expired time frame and in a way that seems fishy.

OP good a thing you are no more on bounty hunting so if you're original in your perspective now, then start putting the Henri Cartier advise to practice and am sure you will eventually thank yourself for it.

not sure if this is sincere or is just a way to fish for merits just like what lovesmayfamilis implies. but if you plan to actually want to rank up and contribute to the forum, then go for it. and if you are looking for more inspiration, I remember a member(I forgot the name) who used to be a bounty hunter but stopped and decided to actually contribute to the forum. if I remember he is now a legendary rank and has made a name for himself here in the forum.

Same sentiment. But who knows its another strategy to make yourself known. Actually OPs case is the same with a lot of aspiring newbie here. Maybe I could suggest that OP more focus on educational content on which the users will gain learning and knowledge and not an issue on ranking.

Smile! absolutely Merit isn't the target for now, I've been here for long, learn as much as I could, I just feel it's time to give back to the community too, and also help newbies like me, It's good that Long serving members on the platform are offering their advice, guide and leadership, so don't get my intentions wrong. It seems Henri Cartier didn't make much success in encouraging you. Well, he got your from the bounty section for sure but, he didn't do much in making you post more useful contents on the forum. 6 months is such a long time and looking at the way you've come since then, I think your way behind for 6 months.

My advice for you now is that, you don't make your stay on the forum about hunting. Just a while ago you were bounty hunting and now, your hunting for merits. You'll hardly go too far with such habit. Try and see ways to self develop in terms of how you can impact on the forum.

You fancy yourself an asset but I can say you ar hardly any just yet. Should a vote contest be held on the forum, your votes at the moment  don't count. Now that doesn't project you for the asset you fancy yourself to be does it.

Indeed, one word is enough, it's a good volition to appreciate the person who changed your posting experience in the forum despite he is not here to see your thank you message. The best part of your post is the line that advise newbies to abstain from bounty threads. They're no harm in passing along the same message that changed you and improved your knowledge of cryptocurrency. But, you could have done more by elaborating the advice so that it'll be understandable by the newbies. Next time when you decide to create threads try to keep it simple and easy to understand. The topic and article doesn't match, I thought you had a detailed advice to share but it was more of an appreciation thread.

Don't stop creating contents but stop if you can't keep it quality as it'll make no difference from your bounty days. Keep posting quality thread as an atonement to the spammy bounty threads you made in the past.

No thread necessary, OP. Even if "Henri" was inactive, the best thing you could do is just leave a personal message to him and not make a thread like these.

If you're going to make some sort of "diary" about your life here in the forum, just make a self-moderated thread in Reputation section. For some ranking up and achievements, it would be best to just share it here -  [Announce your rank up, merit or any achievements that makes you feel great!]

To be frankly speaking, coming to this forum for the sole purpose of bounty hunting was not an entire bad idea, but continueing even after knowing it'ss not worth the effect is where the big problem lies, because i once did bounty hunting and most big ranks today once did it at their early stages, which is normal, but we later came to realise that it was stressful and worthless in terms of value, and that was when we had a reshift to creating valuable contents which has taken us to the leavel we are today. So its left for you to make your decision and go for what your heart tells you

OP says that he's a changed man and merits are no longer important, but it's reverse psychology. He wanted people to give him merits in 2020 and they didn't, so why not try to tell them that he doesn't want them? Maybe then he'll finally get some!

Funny as your post is, the reality is even better. OP experienced a magic gift of a single merit from Henri long time ago. Years have passed and he still feels the warmth of that moment when a merit point was added to his profile. He left bitcointalk, but came back craving that feeling, but his benefactor was no longer here.

Maybe someone here wants to impact the life of this poor soul and be forever etched in his memory...

You took part in Henri Cartier's merit giveaway, and you were awarded one merit by him. A merit he sent to you was to encourage you to make a valuable post and get involved in the forum than focusing more on bounties. You only have one merit and the one he sent to you, making it two.

To you, are you on the track to a bright future? It would have been a bright future for you when we all see that you have earned tenths or hundreds of merits since then till now because of his advice towards you.

My little advice to you @OP whatever place you found yourself, whatever thing you are doing do not wait for someone to inspire you before pushing harder in life, don't always turned down every opportunities given to you otherwise such opportunity would never come again. Yes i believe many came here with different motives and mindset to either work and earn money or either from bounty promotion or rendering services to people around but that doesn't mean everyone must end the same, so put away every barrier and study hard to know the benefits of this forum, to tell you the truth from my end, since i discovered the educational benefits in this forum i never skip any day without visiting here or reading things around forum because i know too well that this forum carries more information i can think off. There are some information i found here but can't find them in google that is to say this platform is really loaded with bunches of information that takes you to study and learn about bitcoin, altcoin and blockchain at large.

Running a bounty is like restricting yourself to a particular spot or not even devoting time to read and study other things because bounty is time consuming and you must meet up to rules otherwise no rewards for you at end of the week.

Bounty in the forum is like you are chasing shadows here, I will blame your friend who introduced you to this forum for making money from bounty which is a wrong idea. So many newbies have the same orientation of seeing the forum as a money making place which will lead to their low attention in learning about Bitcoin.

OP I am happy that you have realized the real purpose of creating this forum by Satoshi Nakomoto on Bitcoin discussion. You should be active by contributing in discussions and participate in the forum activities for users to know that you have been learning on this forum. Your activity in the forum is poor and with this performance, you will not be merited since merit is gotten from teaching and educating users in this forum,anything that worth doing is what doing well. OP if you really inspired for the merits you receive from henry 2 years ago you should pursue to give quality contribution here. Since it looks like you just forget about it and maybe other things motivate you then you just want to receive merit for creating stories like this.

If you want to pursue what you want here better learn how you can contribute to the community so that you can rank up and make those people who believe you proud for what you achieve here.

There are some well-known accounts here that had set their feet in the bounty boards when they started-off, and moved away from it after a short stay. It’s not a sin to wade the waters and see what the fuss is about, though those who don’t like to spend their time performing senseless tweets and retweets, and spamming the hell out of their (real or fake) social media profiles, will probable move away soon enough. You shouldn’t need much encouragement to make the shift though, just a bit of awareness of what to do with your time.
