Do we care why people were banned?

I really do not care why someone gets banned. I fully trust the mods and the reporting system.
The Forum Rules are pretty clear-cut and anyone who is too lazy to read them or as in far too many cases just-do-not-care (like spammers), deserve to be banned.

Even without displaying the reason for which a user is banned, I believe it will be reasonably helpful to have tags for members who are banned on their profile. A simple ban notification would do. It can be displayed on the avatar space just the same way we've merit and activities displayed without anyone having to check users BPIP first to find out. At least with such I strongly believe that users won't be wasting their merit on banned accounts anymore.

I have seen people who were banned but they don't know the reason(s) they were banned. One was banned for evading ban but they thought me they were banned for plagiarism

I tend to agree with this but I think it's impossible to include the reference.
AFAIK, the reason for the user getting banned is that the thread is usually deleted already, I don't think how to track the reference but I think the reason could be enough to determine the user's offense.

BPIP extension on your chrome will easily spot banned users but you'll not see the reason for it.  When I saw a banned user on the top of their profile, all I think is plagiarism, not ban evasion.

Yes... I sometimes care bout why a certain user is banned. That'll depend upon the kinda Parson in question; I guess we do care alot that's why if an appeal poopss up, and it's someone you could vye just to let 'em a chance again, you will, that's ain't happening if there's no interest and care . Yeah, I know some peeps don't really give a fuck , who is involved....since it ain't affecting 'em, they're fine. If a user gets any phishing link attached to their Post, they're banned from the forum (that's not a new policy and I don't think there are any exceptions on that), maybe apart from getting banned for plagiarising which, is a different case.
