The authentication of this claimed, I can not verified, because it hasn't happened to me, nor am I the victim here. Rather a friend of mine is a victim right here

Earlier today a friend of mine sent me a picture of how wallet domain pop up and ask him to click to get the same domain name across all he's digital platform, in the process after clicking, he's Wallet disappear, he went further to import the wallet using Phase key, but before then it was late already, all funds were gone.
Here is a link to the uploaded pictures, as I do not know how to upload images here  https://imgur.com/gallery/B5yLGCK

My warning to you all is to be careful on how you open every notification Pop in your mobile device, please I repeat be careful, we've done all we could to get the funds back, yet no Successful path as at now.

I'm sure Android pop-out notifications are not the root cause of the wallet getting hacked. Another more likely scenario is that your friend are installing an unverified wallet or entering his seed phrase after getting lured to claim on what at the notification message.

Since op didn't mention anything else as to how this happened I think it was probably that. Being taken to a website that says you have 0 funds and inputting your nmemonic would do it - a notification wouldn't.

As well as installing dodgy software, if you've enabled too many in-browser notifications this could probably happen too. But your funds can't be taken without you signing a transaction or inputting your nmemonic (for most wallets).

I got the same notification as you attached in the picture. but I ignored it because I was busy working.
but this is an official notification from trust wallet about their update with Unstoppableweb. we can claim NFT Web3 for free. I'm not sure the error that caused all your friend's assets to disappear is related to the notification. You can confirm the information on the official Twitter account of the trust wallet. and I'm sure the problem is not because of the notification Pop from the mobile phone.

I got this notification not long ago, but I just cancelled it, I didn't do anything to it, I think your friend must have done something else that warrant this, just this notification isn't enough to cause funds disappearance, I suggest you ask him more question about this

I just received one of these notifications on my Android device. (things about the partnership with unstoppable)
it's my old device on which I deleted almost all apps (didn't install anything new for over a year). Also, the Trustwallet app is installed more than two years ago. I don't even use it much, but I haven't transferred it to a new device yet.
I skipped this notification, so I can't track it anymore.

I got this notification hours ago but I don't bother to open it, unstoppable domain is giving free domain to users of trust wallet, this is confirmed and I already claimed a free domain to my Twitter account using my Trust wallet but my fund never disappeared, I am guessing your friend did something wrong or just made up this story.

I don't think this ad was able to steal money from your friend, OP. Such advertising can now be found on devices in Android phones. The offer to get a free domain from Trust Wallet and Unstoppable Domains is puzzling to many users, but the news that this could cause theft of funds is only for you.
Advise your friend to reset the settings to the factory defaults and not download pirated software to the phone, which was most likely already installed on his device.

It appears your friend had a malicious copy of Trust Wallet installed, and that wallet sent pop-out notifications with phishing links. Maybe he was tricked into entering his secret details on a website that looked like a regular unstoppable domain website but, in fact, was an impersonator. It is no surprise that users of one of the most popular altcoin wallets are getting scammed much more often than other users, especially considering that interaction with altcoin stuff and smart contracts implies downloading many dubious things. Don't get used to trusting random third parties only seeking users' money, or you are risking ending up being robbed by these enterprising personalities. Anyway, you should avoid cryptocurrency wallets that make money selling user personal data to ad companies. They are all potential scam waiting to happen.

I don't think it's a truswallet's notification, there are some popup ads embedded in the app that look similar to certain app notifications even if you don't have them installed.
The easiest thing to stop these kind of popup ads is to check and kill unused apps running in the background.

-snip-
I am guessing your friend did something wrong or just made up this story.
Since this event requires access to user wallet, it makes sense for scammers to take advantage of it.

I think some details are errors that the OP may not know about. if just clicking on the link and taking you to the original trustwallet app and nothing happens, the hack failed. Maybe a hacked trustwallet user entered his private key on a phishing site sent by a pop-up notification.
and some pop-up notifications also appear because several stations are visited and provide these notifications masquerading as a trustwallet application. I often experience some strange notifications that appear from the chrome browser and from unclear websites. make sure to clear history and delete automatic notifications on visited websites.

<…>
I’ve been searching for any reported cases with the same/similar allegations as those depicted in the OP for a Trust wallet notification, coming back empty handed. I’m inclined to believing that, as others have mentioned, the notification was not the root of the issue, but rather either accesses a phishing site or a fake app with malware.

Depending on what phone your friend is using, and the OS version, he may be able to retrieve the notification history (not all phones allow this, but some do). I really doubt this has anything to do with it, but it you’re capable of accessing the history log you may be able to see something or other.

I also think it's a different source, I really don't agreed with OP post of this notification, something else is attached, you know how Newbies act, I guess he must have done something else
