Right here in my country, my friends are investing more in stocks than in bitcoin. Simply because investing in bitcoin is riskier, plus it's volatile, investing in bitcoin is not recognized and protected by law. In contrast, stocks have the management and control of the law, so securities trading will be safer. Volatility is also a big obstacle, many people don't like roller coasters. In my opinion, cryptocurrency will not be able to surpass the popularity of securities because of the problem of risk that it brings.

It didn't. If anything it delivered investing, in all sense of the word to the common people. Ever saw WSB? That wouldn't be a thing if people didn't realize that they can actually invest in stocks and assets themselves without the need of a broker. So if anything, bitcoin and investing in it made people see how they can change shit for themselves wthout spending horrendous amounts of money or hiring someone who's probably out there to screw you too.

There's the case of people jumping from stocks to cryptocurrency but that's a niche percentage and honestly I'd say the amount of people who invest on both bitcoin and stocks had increased drastically these past few years. Not 20 to 30%, if a stock gives 12% return every year then its a very successful and preferable stock to invest however I don't feel it helped the bitcoin to be preferred more cause stock market investors are not really used to this much returns so they still think bitcoin is a bubble just because of the high returns. So those who were less interested in stock could come to join Bitcoin, also vice versa for the stock market. It's not always about big profits and all. I don't think so. Infact Covid has greatly increased the interest of people in stock markets. Crypto on the other hand have also got lot of steam due to Covid and the bull run after it but still people doing stocks haven't moved at all. I think it is ignorance that can make a person to think that it is the popularity of Bitcoin that is making investors not bother to invest in the stock market. The saying it news is wrong because we have been seeing that there are people that are dumping Bitcoin which is one of the reasons why the price of Bitcoin is falling anyhow. If people are really investing in Bitcoin in the way op has thought, the price of Bitcoin would not be in the current price it is today. The price of Bitcoin would have been in bull run for many weeks before now and a lot of investors would have been making huge profits from the market.
