[Request] Additional Forum theme - Night Mode/Dark Theme

As title implied, I want to request @theymos for a night mode/dark theme to make the forum less stressful since pure white is very stressful in the eye. I didn't notice this on my old monitor but it bothering now when using a wide montor.

I notice too that there's a feature to change theme feature on Look and Layout Preferences but it's currently disabled for an unknown reason. I assume this feature is implemented before and just temporarily disabled right?



Does any of the old account experienced using that feature before when it's still functional?

Install BPIP extension to your browser, it brings a lot of useful stuff. (see more: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224821 )
And you can choose a theme for the forum, there are also two dark options.
Imho this is the easiest way to add dark theme to bitcointalk.

This guy Dark Mode is really what I preferred but his githu link is not working. I have zero knowledge on CSS so I want avoid that part as much as possible. Thank you for sharing.

Imho this is the easiest way to add dark theme to bitcointalk.

Currently using the BPIP extension and Dark mode is not good as this user provide https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4423230.0 but still this is helpful compared to the original version. Thank you for sharing.


I still want to stand on my request for an admin to create an official dark theme mode that doesn't rely on 3rd party software for convenience and safety purposes of accounts. This https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4423230.0 color combination for Dark mode is the best so far. Since the other theme shows the high contrast on signature and avatar color.

I just thought that I've seen this a couple of times ; especially, as yours doesn't correlate to the sort that an OP even had to include codes in their request to Theymos.... Then I'd be like WTF? Means Theymos doesn't code? But No!! That's wasn't it. He just wanted to make sure that his points are understood properly and that atleast -- he knows what he's doing.
Back to base: The GitHub link ain't working any longer?... dark mode is something everyone would prefer just to reduce some eye strain, yeah. You don't need a third party software huh? So if you'd say the word " convenience" , I'd accept but how bout safety? Does anyone need to log on in, just to switch modes? That'll be an unnecessary bug in the expense of an OPs time, right?
Edit: ion even think it works that way so, Maybe you should take out time to explore? That'll be great.

After the "attack in 2013", theymos disabled it to reduce the attack surface:

• Also, I have disabled much SMF functionality to provide less attack surface. In particular, non-default themes are disabled for now.
