This is a partly edited but mostly copy pasted response that I posted to the paid Review Campaign thread a few minutes ago (source).

I want to check out your Mixing Service but I am running into a big issue straight away.  The website does not work at all without Java Script.  I strongly detest scripts, and therefore am running my browser with them disabled.  While some of Mixero's competitor Mixers work with Java Script disabled, Mixero shows a black screen straight up on multiple devices.

As someone desperate for Privacy, this is a deal breaker.  Remember you are also new, so earning trust may be a little difficult.  Expect many questions and remember things like the issue I am running into could for users like me be the decisive factor between using and not using your Service.

I think other Privacy advocates would agree this is very important (and now that I read this thread, can see this is one of the first things Mixer users may be looking for).  Particularly when you really want to break links and prints.

Would like to mention I only tried the Mixer using the Onion link.  Once the website works without Java Script, I will make sure an updated review is uploaded.

To quickly gain trust, there is a magic solution, which is to deposit an amount such as 1 bitcoin as a guarantee. If the site turns out to be scam, you can send money to a multi-signature address, managed by you and two trusted people in the forum.

What about those, is there any update?

I don't know how your mixing algorithm works but what will happen if the time exceeds four hours. Is it possible for the user to choose a specific time? Or is the user's money mixed and then sent to him?

Concerning a version without JavaScript we are working on it but you must know that most of our scripts are obfuscated. In any case we understand the fear of some people so we are working on it.

For the delay of 2 to 4 hours everything can depend on if the blockchain is overloaded or not but on average it takes 4 hours if after the time limit you still haven't received anything you can always contact us via our support.

Would like to suggest a few things.
1. Mixero should have a referral system to incentivize more users to use the platform. Like put in a primary btc address and get a unique referral link for that address to get for eg. 10-20% commission on the fees paid, once anyone joins via their link and uses the service. The more they invite, the more commissions they earn. How does it sound?

2. You may atleast add a link to bitcointalk ANN thread in the "contact us" section of the website. It'll make it easier for ppl who find the site thru other sources, to come and discuss here publicly, if they face any problems. The community will build stronger this way imo.

3. Would it be possible to choose and edit the % of amount going to each destination address ?  For example we choose 60% going to first destination and the rest 40% distributed equally to the next 4.

- As a web developer, I think since your website won't load lots of items for each page it needs to be a single page and this will be more user-friendly to don't refresh the whole page after which to about or faq page, you can maybe use react for this which can give you many other features.
- Also since the user doesn't have many options on the first page I suggest you add some more features. for example, let the users edit the number of bitcoins for each destination address as @Edwardard already said.
- You can even add some RTL languages, like Arabic to your website which can be more challenging to sync the UI.
- Most people don't use these services because of fees, so maybe you can give some discounts during the events like Christmas for the additional fees you take.
- "We don't use an existing CoinJoin algorithm, it's built by our own strategies." Most people are familiar with the existing CoinJoin and how it works but you could give some more explanation about how it works on your FAQ page.

Edit:
- You need to do some re-work and make the website more responsive for different devices.
1- Create a toggle menu for mobile size
2- The service fee doesn't need to be this wide at mobile size

My Review after using Mixero Mixer.

I just try the onion link first but it seems going slow to access on my PC and then I force to change to clearnet link that quite comfortable to use in my chrome.

The first time open the site is a bit surprised because it looked different from other mixers with I've ever used, without further ado, Mixero direct me to the proof of the received address, so maybe they want to make to it simple without any layout information, but it's okay if the user understands how is going.

and one thing which is quite annoying is, if we must be required to fill up the Service Fees I think deleting that none in the options is good to save server space.

I tried to send a minimum, 0.002 BTC using a 0.9% fee, here we go,

I still can check transactions when open-closed browser with link https://[banned mixer]/Home/get_address
but it can't happen when using a different browser like firefox or deleting cookies.
Maybe better to make the code link (or restore the session) to make it easy if the user wants to monitor the transaction.

After 1-2 hours I received a mixing coin 0.00145983 from 0.002. which means you will get cut ± 5K satoshi for the fee if using 0.9% service.

This is by far the easiest Mixer I used. I was just confused with the choices of percentages, but I just choose the highest, and without any problem, my transaction has been confirmed in less than 15 minutes. Maybe I will try a lower service fee next time, probably the lowest and let's see how many minutes or hours before it will confirm.



Overall, the mixer is easy to use, and therefore it's highly recommended.

By the way, always read the terms and make sure you know the minimum and maximum to send.


Suggestion: Just keep this simple UI as it's easy to understand for an average joe, also, keep your reputation clean so you'll be able to earn more clients in the future, wish you luck in your future and hopefully you'll have more clients to cater to.

My review

I first used pay-to-tap-root address, it was not valid. I tried legacy, nested segwit and native segwit addresses, they were all valid. Instead of P2TR addresses that I would have preferred, I used native segwit for it.

When I wanted to choose the fee to be used, I would have preferred 'none' (no fee ) to see if it is a free service that also depends on donation as an option (although fee was stated to be included for every coin mixed on the site). To make it more better, just remove the 'none' and let it remain blank until when clicked upon, to see the fee, excluding 'none' from it.

I used the highest fee, but the mixing took more than 2 hours. Mempool was around 26 sat/vbyte at the time, with a fee for 1 input and 2 output not up to $0.7.

At first, it was not working with the onion link using Tor, but that has been fixed and it is working perfectly now, but slower which is expected while using Tor.

I sent 0.0021 BTC.
0.00074 BTC was sent to the two addresses that I provided which totalled 0.00148 BTC.

I would conclude that the coin was actually mixed, just like some other mixers, nothing like coinjoin but which was later stated on the site not be be coinjoin actually. But the principle used for the mixing is not transparently explained when checking about how the mixer works, it would be good if you can work on that, to further explain how the mixing works.

I provided two addresses, which means extra charges, I expected the two addresses to be funded from different addresses that have no past connection, but funded from the same single address, although I was unable to trace the transactions to the coins that I sent to the mixer for mixing.

I visited your website to mix some coins today and I liked the website design, it's very simple which is good. I think fees are a little bit higher considering the mixer is very new, maybe add a zero fee tier too? that will attract more users. FAQ probably missing a question, Some might ask why to use your mixer when there are some reputable ones running for years. Another idea is adding proof of reserve funds.100 BTC is a lot if the owner can sign a message from a bitcoin address holding 100 BTC I think a large number of users will start using without fear of losing their funds.

First strange thing I saw is they claim to receive my transaction one second after I sent my coins and there was no chance they could register that on blockchain so fast.



Procedure was simple and I sent everything as instructed, but I didn't receive any coins back for more than 24 hours!
They are claiming on website that delay is from 2 to 4 hours but I selected lowest fee so I should receive coins early.
After waiting for long time I had to write to Mixero support and send them transaction and letter of guarantee that I downloaded.
Than they manually sent me mixed coins back.

I was not happy with this service, and I don't want to talk with support several times when I didn't do anything wrong.
There are better services for mixing Bitcoin, and I think Mixero needs to improve a lot before I would use it ever again.

Even if this is true, there is no way you could start mixing coins when transaction is unconfirmed and you didn't receive anything.

It is not badly written but not precise enough according to you. I don't see the problem of saying that we have received your transaction even if it hasn't been confirmed on the blockchain yet. But indeed we can't start mixing the funds if they haven't been confirmed. So we should check if it has been confirmed at least once on the blockchain.

The coin can be double-spent, but which you will also not later mix anything. Just that it would be good to be more transparent. You can just let it be that the the coin would be mixed after 1 confirmation.

What if someone make use of your mixer, thinking you have received the coin he sent you, but the mempool is or become very congested, taking over hours or days before his transaction got confirmed. The person can later know the transaction is not yet confirmed, but referring to what was shown on your site that it is wrong. Transparency will help.

About service fee, You should put a note that transaction fee is excluded on this charges percentage and also have an info about the advantage of using higher fee compared to the lowest fee. I'm not a technical guy so I don't understand exactly how will improve my transaction privacy.

Hello, a fixed fee of 0.0005 BTC is clearly explained on the About page, we don't see the point of quoting it on every page knowing that before using this kind of service every customer should read carefully our explanation section.

Concerning a status page normally a success page should be displayed but a bug on our side was blocking the redirection but this has been fixed now.
