Bitcoin is not a money making machine. Bitcoin is simply an asset that due to some factors greatly appreciated in price. It may or may not continue growing at this rate or at all. There is no proven method for predicting Bitcoin's price, all the existing methods are wildly inaccurate.

If you want to get rich, you need to consistently make money and Bitcoin is not consistent. Bitcoin is a good asset to own in your portfolio, but going all in on it is not a good idea. Because in worst case you will lose a lot of money and time.

Your friend might/mightn't be correct, Bitcoin is a currency that can appreciate quite well in the long term, and for individuals who prolly bought at the right time and hold'd it, they would definitely make great ROI. But Bitcoin isn't actually a step to wealth, to be wealthy requires quite a lot of personal sacrifices and investments, Bitcoin could well be one of such investments, but associating Bitcoin with becoming wealthy is wrong, because sooner rather than later you'd turn into one get rich quick investor and start making mistakes that will lead to doom.

I have been in this forum for like three weeks now reading different topics from people, and I have learnt more in these weeks than I have known since.

Bitcointalk is a great platform to garner Bitcoin and cryptocurrency knowledge, and i can assure you that the learning here never stops, and you'd learn more the longer you stay.

Mind you that you should not only be attracted to Bitcoin because of its price that is very volatile for now; you should do your own research about the network generally and not just its price, thus that way you'd be able to handle price corrections and understand all about the Bitcoin cycle; you'd also be encouraged to use it as a currency and not just to hodl or seek ROI.

Bitcoin isn’t necessarily the steps to wealth. You shouldn’t be under the illusion that one could get wealthy overnight just cause of bitcoin. Like literally with all things, you could only reap the gains or profit if you put in time and effort. Bitcoin is same. You would need perseverance to be able to hold for the long run and that’s what you should be aiming at.

And you also shouldn’t be looking to bitcoin to get rich. Bitcoin, like all investments are risky and the need to diversify is yet again reiterated.

You are welcome and congratulations on finding this forum. But we have welcomed many that started like this but got lost in the Crypto-currency ecosystem and either went out the same way or they left out with loss.
You are fresh here and I don’t think you know if Bitcoin is a path to wealth, I can even suggest you finding a skill is a better path to wealth than hoping on Bitcoin and crypto-currency.

The Crypto-currency world is volatile, it can take a while for a bull run to appear and many times if we honest the bad market is predominantly occurring. But this won’t be a problem for long term Bitcoin holders. Find other use of Bitcoin and just like me you would appreciate it better.

Bitcoin is a potential asset you can invest your money in the time of bear and hold for the price to move higher before you can visit the market to make a good profits. I do not mean to discourage you but however I still want to raise my opinion on your topic and it can be of help to you or any other readers.
There are many steps to wealth but bitcoin is the least of them if you ask me, if you want to be wealthy and financially stable you should find a way to own a business or whatever thing that will be bringing steady cash flow.
The few people that became very wealthy with bitcoin did not plan for it maybe they were a few risk-takers and opportunist who embraced Bitcoin in its early stage when it's worth nothing.
And to be sincere with you those days are gone for ever.
For you to be able to make huge amount of money from today bitcoin means that you are able to invest huge amount of money and wait for a minimum of 4 years.

So, I would advise you to remove the mindset of wealth building and focus on how to learn Bitcoin, there is not doubt that bitcoin will make you to be stable but it might not be able to make you as wealthy as you might think

Yes, your friend have spoken the truth. Bitcoin have make a lot of people become rich because those people understand how Bitcoin work. I'm not going to say you will definitely get rich from bitcoin, but you might get rich investing. I mean bitcoin will never guarantee you to be rich even if today you could actually tell that there are tons of billionaires out there who are bitcoin investors.

Investing is a step towards wealth, but bitcoin is just one asset that you can consider in your portfolio because of its potential and other advantages over other investment assets out there. So invest in what you love and believe you can earn, it's not just bitcoin.

First lesson: Don't easily believe you can get rich with Bitcoin. Maybe this can happen, but there are some conditions that make it rich because of Bitcoin. And this is an inaccurate and dangerous understanding, especially for beginners in the crypto world.

Don't depend on only bitcoin to make yourself some wealth because it has to do with the timing. Yes if you invest while price is low and about driving up well you may be lucky to have some profit depending on how long the bull last.

I know you're trying to keep to that principle of "Don't put all your eggs in one basket" but what if that basket is the only available one to you or if it's the only one that will be useful to you? your friend is right but did he/she tell you about what bitcoin will make you rich? just to let you know that every day there are many new investors who buy and sell bitcoin but the number of those who buy will be very large and the law of demand applies here, if more and more invest in bitcoin the value will be higher, besides that bitcoin has a halving cycle every 4 years and the reward block is getting smaller.
