Today I received a PM from this user SCORUM.COMMUNITY who apparently is proposing partnerships, but does not inspire any kind of confidence.

Here is the message he sent to me and other users:

I also received such proposal/pm late yesterday. Although i see nothing wrong or something malicious on the letter, just a proposal so i just ignored it since i'm not interested at all.

And yep, looks like the majority here seems doesn't like such way of promotion or proposal via pm. Yet, i think this is best to reputation than meta.

I also got a PM from that account. what makes me not interested in opening the shared link is his account which is not actively posting but sending PMs to some forum users.

if you look at the history of the SCORUM.COMMUNITY account, it seems that it is another account from the banned Zinylia account. the two also promote the Scorum project. he tries to continue his business under the radar because his main account is already banned.

I received a similar message, if the link was contain virus files, phising or malware then that account will be banned, else all you can do is report that he is scammer (maybe negative trust) and ignore that user.
If you receive a lot of messages, try the option to prevent receiving messages from newbies,

I also received the same message. I'm curious how many other members received it? I think for starters we should all report the pm to the admin. At the very least They're breaking forum rule #29 "Sending unsolicited PMs, including but not limited to advertising and flood, is not allowed.

I was actually going to report the account. I had received same message on Nov 20, then I got another yesterday.

I saw the PM last night as well. I didn't really pay attention to it after seeing the words "NFT", "cooperation ", "play-to-earn games", etc. Since I never heard of the person who sent the message, I quickly checked their post history and noticed that the only forum activity they have was posting in a ban appeal thread. Judging by the people who reported having received similar PMs, it wasn't an isolated case where only those that joker_josue mentioned got PMed.

I'm not sure what the goal here is and if they are in fact proposing an honest partnership, but clicking on the link and visiting the website is not something I am planning to do. I'm going to use my forum logic and conclude that it's a scam until proven otherwise.

Infact, he spammed my inbox three times with it serially. I was alarmed because I had disabled allow pms from newbies. I them realised he was able to by passed it because of his 'copper member status. Maybe the forum will have to also create a way for anyone to disable receiving pms from copper members or any other ranks too. Not just restricted to only newbies.

In their ban appeal thread, the user said that they were not the same person who used their old account (Zinylia) and do not have access to that account anymore. Therefore, I think that the ban evasion rule does not apply here.

But regardless, mass sending of unsolicited PMs is not allowed. If they are looking for partners and promoters, they should do it publicly rather than privately.

They are clearly spam messages trying to find some victims through these offers as they think NFT is the new trend and we can attract members towards our project which may or may not exist in reality with these keywords but you are right on the part that we should not click on the links we received from these newbie and strangers as we are aware about the phising scams in this space.

Although I didn't receive this PM but in past have received some kind of trading partnership messages trying to scam you of funds and this is also the same but surprised to see how many of you have received his PM.

Well the job is done and thanks for notifying all that another scammer was banned and we should always report them at the first instance only so they are kicked out before having any victim.

He was able to get across to me and I believe to others also because of his copper member status, and not as a newbie. It shows that restriction on pms does not work against copper membership.

it's really worth the SCORUM.COMMUNITY account to be banned from this forum, I even got PM 2 times from that account. I'm really curious how many thousands of accounts in this forum got their PM, it seems they don't choose their victims.

You're right, I reported it to the administrators.

The link points to an FTP folder, which may contain malicious files. I personally do not recommend opening this folder.
