I do see people come here and declare themselves as long term holders of bitcoin because they are holding for weeks to months; they are right because previously they were into intraday or sessional/trend trading which may not last for more than six months.

For some though, it might be long enough, maybe they are just looking for how much money they are going to profit. So instead of looking for long term investment, if they see that they have reach their target profit then they will just sell. Or there could be circumstances that investors will have to sell for reasons like emergency and personal.

Of course to enjoy profits and benefits from our investment we should wait for a bit longer or at least experience a full cycle.

You must be Satoshi himself to try that. We're looking at 12 to 20 years for a 3-5 Bitcoin cycle here with the awareness that a cycle is four years (rightly so when we consider its halving period). For me, a long term hodl is two years. That's hodl stoically for two years without touching my stack. The two years will be from two years post-halving to the present halving year. For instance, at hand is the period I'm referring to. Buying now to sell off in 2024. Then repeat the process in 2026.

Yeah, there were stocks which transformed long term holders to multi-millionaires for the investment of $100 to $1000. Luckily, we do not have to break our head to find the right stock for long term holding in this crypto space; it is only bitcoin but to get 1000x returns, we must learn patience.

For the people, who argue that they cannot lock $1000 for year then they should plan up for $50 or $100; that is very basic. If we stick with basics of investments then we can easily convert deep bear markets of bitcoin into moderate ones.

Yeah you are right stocks take a longtime to mature for sell and sometimes bonds too. Sometimes people even forget that they have shares they bought, some invest in shares as youth to cash out out old age or retirement age.

You know people don't really like the waiting aspect of cryptocurrency, they feel it is just a quick money bonanza and don't understand that you actually need to wait for it to grab the fat profit. Holding an investment for weeks or months isn't a long-term investment, I think it is labeled as a short-term investment.  Medium-term depends on the cycle of what they are holding but I think it is somewhere on six months to 2 years.

I agree, if we may, we should hold our investment for a decade in order to see a great result.  But to see Bitcoin to have 1000x return if we invest today is somehow fictional.  A 100x is still somehow hard to get at the current price of BTC.  ( I would love to be proven wrong though)

But psychology works a little differently and only a few actually make money in this market. The rest panic and sell their assets. And the longer they try not to sell, the more fear they feel. I never changed it, I just hold majority of my coins and even buy more to hold more as well, it's just a way to make a profit for me that I do not know any other way. Sure I do have a tiny bit of everything else as well, like literally 50 bucks to 100 bucks on 10-15 different small things, but they are very tiny on my portfolio because I do not really believe that they will give me riches, I think the money that you put on bitcoin is the key to success.

It will give you the capital to start making a lot of real money, and what I mean by real is the amount you could buy a house with, that type of money could get you real returns in the long run that you can live from as well if you make right choices.
