At the moment the number 1 in the world, Price, plays against the German Clemens. Clemens has taken a 2-1 lead in sets. Perhaps a bit surprising. Later in the evening we see the favorite for the title still in action, Michael van Gerwen. He then plays against Cris Dobey. The 2 games of the afternoon were not favorites games, but they were entertaining. Especially Clayton - van den Berg was very exciting and that match seemed to go both ways for a long time. Michael Smith is a player who is considered an outsider for the title, but then he will have to throw a lot better than today.
Wow, Price lost 5:1 to Clemens. From all 1/4 final games it's only that I didn't saw, so, I'm wondering what happened to Price. In other evening game Van Gerwen left no chance for Dobey and won match very easy 5:0 he had impressive average -102 points.
Smith - Bunting was great match to watch, even if quality of it wasn't good. Smith won without playing good. Bunting had much bigger averages, much more 180s, but still lost as he missed lot of doubles. Happy to see Van den Bergh reaching semis for the first time.
I don't know why you consider Smith as outsider for the title. He is big favorite in semifinal against Clemens, same like Van Gerwen against Van den Bergh. But potentially in the final, if Van Gerwen will play same like today, he is big favorite.
