now the final will be played today and MvG is my favorite for this year's pdc title.

They seem evenly matched at the moment, but van Gerwen seems totally unimpressed with his opponent's play. Also looked up some statistics. The last 3 times they played against each other, Smith managed to win all 3 games. So he has serious chances to become world champion tonight.

And I think it was key moment in this match. It was great final, but after 9 darter Michael Smith looked more confident and solid.

i also saw the leg and it was probably the greatest of all time. in addition, yesterday was the first and also the last nine-darter at this pdc world championship.

Yes, it was really a great finale and a great game. The nine-darter was a really great performance and I think Michael Smith really deserved the win. Alongside Peter Wright, he was one of my favorites for this championship. I will remember this match for a long time, but it's a pity that the championship is already over.

Great tournament played by both. Van Gerwen seemed to be the towering favorite, beating significant players 5-0 and 6-0 respectively in his quarter-final and semi-final. Smit was on the verge of elimination against Schindler, but today he was definitely the better player. And especially that he has thrown a 9 darter is of course a great conclusion to the tournament. In that leg, van Gerwen also almost threw a 9 darter. And speaking of 9 darts, then Smith almost threw another one. And Smith is also the new number 1 in the world. That must be a dream start to the year.
