Yes, it will affect sex business adversely but let us look at the pros. I believe it will reduce the number of STDs, unintended pregnancies, young children becoming sex workers, and broken families, resulting in more stable households. There are some traditional family-oriented tourists who also practice specific religions; therefore, they will undoubtedly travel to Indonesia or bring their children there. Some people might even wish to relocate there.

I think this law is not easy to enforce, because power and money are difficult to manage, and some laws only control ordinary people, like the rich people nowadays, who are not afraid of the law and can bribe many people by means.
This is a very exciting topic to be discussed. The law in Indonesia is something that has the greatest meaning in the world, but why can the law be for the poor and not the other way around? So, of course, this will be a question for many of us, as good people, who have our own awareness that we don't need to attach importance to things like this, but because this is a question, an answer must be issued. This law is an important thing and must be obeyed by everyone, but many people or even high-ranking officials enforce the law like food that can be bought. Of course, this is a very unfair thing if you don't have ethics and morals, you need awareness for all of us so that you can comply with the laws that have been made and determined by the highest government in Indonesia.
Therefore, the people find that there is cooperation between the president and the people or even visitors so that they are more assertive in carrying out or applying the existing punishments in Indonesia.
Regulations in Indonesia for sexual prohibition will have an impact on visitors who come to Indonesia?, actually this is a wrong thought, in fact Indonesia is a country where there are many places to travel not to party which maybe a lot of people are places to party sex outside of marriage.

There will be no adverse effects. This private life that belongs to the individual should not involve interests, and even if the law is not promulgated, you should respect yourself and others. Out of morality and your own upbringing, you should not have sex outside of marriage.
Talking about private life, it shouldn't really be a problem and no affect at all. But we have to face the reality that when there are tourists and sex is involved, there will be businesses that are gaining customers through the tourists will be affected if this law has been applied.

I wonder if this thinking is only for women? Women are disrespected if they have sex outside of marriage or premarital sex, so if men do such things, will they be humiliated by their families? I don't think it's fair if it's only for women.
Yeah, this is the sad reality. While for men, body counts is like a supreme thing and a factor that many others are boasting for.

Indonesia's legislative arm has passed a new law that criminalizes sex before or outside marriage. People convicted of extramarital sex could face as much as one year in prison.
This law would also affect foreigners and tourists that came to visit the country. Some citizens of the country are protesting against this law. While others are seeing it as a welcome development.

Business owners in the country are lamenting that this law can discourage tourists from visiting the country which would affect their businesses negatively. I am also perceiving that this policy might also scare investors from investing in Indonesia. But some religious business owners are of the view that this policy would attract business to the country from other religious or conservative nations or investors.

What are your thoughts?

The goal is to stop sex trafficking in the country. Report say 43% of trafficking victims are aged 14-17. Some experts even claim that the number of trafficking going on in the country is worst than it is reported. Right now I feel they're going extreme.
Banning premarital sex or outside marriage sex won't stop sex trafficking. People, more especially governments need to understand that you can't take people's right away just because some people abuse it and use it to commit crimes.

I read the article, and one of the residents said that he could go to jail as they are still not married and he has a child. He is scared that someone will go to the police and tell them their status. It won't only affect the businesses but also other people who are living peacefully, as those business owners who own hotels and lodging will surely see their income decrease, as well the economy of the country, as we all know that some foreigners will go to other countries to explore and also other girls.

Is Indonesia big on sex tourism that such policy would dissuade tourists from visiting? How many single men/women could possibly be dissuaded by such policy and to what extent would businesses be affected?

Virtually none, would be my guess.

And when talking about business. Maybe some businesses will be affected by this law. But only part of the business. And because this Law is not entirely new. so actually businesses in Indonesia are used to this. Actually, the punishment for sex outside of marriage in Indonesia is quite light when compared to Arab countries like Qatar, where the applicable sentence is 7 years in prison. Sourch : google

Which businesses would this target? Does a country with a high Islamic population really attract a level of tourism that would no longer exist if sex outside of marriage was banned. If it's longstanding policy for cultural reasons, then it wouldn't make any difference to begin with.

Odd snippet from the article:

Quote
They are also banned from living together - an act for which people could be jailed for up to six months. Adultery will also be an offence for which people can be jailed.

So what about people that live together without sexual relations?

some Indonesians who disagree or oppose the law only on the grounds that humans have human rights. so that people who oppose the law feel that their freedom is regulated and taken over by the government. whereas the majority of Indonesians are Muslims and they know that Islam does not allow sex before marriage, but these people have wrong thoughts blinded by human rights.

for Indonesian investment problems, I think it's fine when the law is passed. maybe some companies are affected by the law but they have started to get used to the law.
so in essence the law prohibits sex before marriage in Indonesia it will be fine

I'm not sure why such strict laws are necessary, but I believe religion plays a role. Laws like this are difficult to put into practice, so I wonder how they plan to stop it. Because it will be difficult to checkmate those who break these laws. According to me, it will have an impact on business growth when a CEO who is a sex addict uses sex to keep clients loyal. Before making any deals with any female clients, they want sex. due to a trust issue.

Despite the fact that the law has been approved, it is up to the populace to adjust to it. They will find it difficult to accept it, but they will have to follow its orders. This law will encourage young guys to marry. It's also bring sanity to the Nation

What are your thoughts?

On the one hand, unless individuals are outside or residing together, it will be very difficult to execute the legislation. However, because there are differences between people around the world, I do not believe that a law prohibiting premarital sex will have a negative impact on their tourism businesses adversely. Family-oriented people will still go on honeymoons, anniversaries, or family vacations. Every situation has both a good and bad aspect.

I think this should not be taken in a negative sense. Every country has its separate norms and custom; they promote the legitimate way for a relationship.
I think business doesn't depend upon sex as a significant factor. So it may not affect any legal business.

As a result of the pandemic, tourism to many of these countries had declined and they have adjusted to that. Tourism contributes a very small percentage to Indonesia's GDP as well. It would be expected that a country where the majority of the population is Muslim should have a silent law on that before now and regular visitors should have the knowledge of it. To make money, businesses don't always have to be sexually provocative. I am in favor of protecting the community and its beliefs
