Does anyone here day trade crypto successfully whilst working a full time job?

I have medium experience with trading crypto and over the last few weeks have been mainly using the TradingView scalping indicator from https://cryptochiefs.io with good results. The problem is that I find it really difficult to manage the trades properly whilst working as they move fast any normally require that I am watching the screen. Kind of thinking I either need to forget about the idea or scale up from where I am and go full time.

Those of you with normal jobs, are you day trading or mainly long term crypto investors/ HODLers?!!

I bet there are some members here that do trading while doing a normal job coz I know one.  He is a teacher and at the same time crypto trader.  He is both a long-term holder and trader via scalping.  He did for some hours when he got home after his class.

I think having another source of income is a great thing, so I think you should manage your time well than giving up one of your sources of income.  We never know when we will be needing this extra income, so for as long as the new income possibility is presenting itself to you, you should grab it.

I can't focus on my trading while I have a job since my job is already taking a lot of my personal time, so right now I'm just investing in top altcoins and holding for a long term since the market price is really good to buy. If I work in an office and I have a lot of time to turn on my laptop then I can think about becoming day trading but unfortunately, that chance never happens to me.

If you have a steady job, you can trade in your free time. Trading requires more time and energy, and there are greater risks, and even professional traders cannot guarantee permanent profits.
If you don’t have a lot of free time, you can choose long-term investment, choose to invest in Bitcoin or potential currencies for long-term holding, and wait patiently to earn huge profits with high returns.

for those of you who do have a busy life in the real world and it takes up your time, it is very difficult to divide the time in daily trading. I also feel like that, therefore, I only trade when I have time off like weekends. I have enough time to be able to do everything.
but I don't do it every week, it depends on market conditions too. I do invest more in the long term. trading is only done when you see an opportunity.

but for the OP who wants to focus on both, I don't think it's a problem if you can manage your time. like trading when done work. or during work breaks. use the stop loss feature, it will give us enough profit if we don't focus too much on the trades we are doing.

Considering that trading isn't an easy task, therefore, spending more time is required. This is a burden if you have a full-time job and only have limited time to spend on trading as it was not advisable anymore. Thus, if we wanted to trade make sure that we have peace of mind so our focus is on the computer and trading otherwise, we end up just losing.

Though some people can manage to handle both of them together, I think depending on the job they have.

Indeed, trading is not an easy job, I tried to become a full-time trader once, but I quickly failed. Not only because I can't make a profit, but sitting in front of a computer for 14-16 hours a day makes me extremely stressed and almost crazy. It's actually more of a burden than a job that I'll enjoy and be comfortable with.
I love having an outside job and combined with investing in the market, it gives me an additional source of income as well as relieves a lot of pressure for me.

If you are a big boss and others do all the work in the office for you, then it is possible that you will have the opportunity to trade during working hours. But I think it's better in this case to focus on investing, which takes less time than trading. Otherwise, your business may become less efficient by losing a manager.

Those of you with normal jobs, are you day trading or mainly long term crypto investors/ HODLers?!!

There are two things involved here;
1. You main job
2. Trading(passive income).

The former should be considered more important than the later. So you would try as much as possible not to let the later affect the former.
Apart from day trading you can also be trading intermittently. For example, when all coins are red you buy some coins of your choice according to your research and wait for someday or week when the whole market will move and cash out. I follow this up and make some gains.
Try make trading not to be time consuming so that it won't affect your job

Trading cant be passive because it does involved effort and time because if you do pertain that you are just simply holding your assets or coins in a certain period then you arent trading but rather you are investing.

There's significant differences among the two but do share up with the same motive which is to make profits but they do really differ when it comes to time frame on when you would be securing
your profits or cutting up your losses.

Having a job and having a trading activity would really be hard since this would involved proper time management. If you could able to bare that up
then i dont see anything problem with it.

I tried this before, having a job while a day trader too. But it's hard to manage my time and I can't focus resulting to missed opportunity to buy/sell. It gives me headache and stress so I decided to stop and change my strategy.

Now i'm holding my crypto with a set target price when to sell. If the price didn't reach yet my desired amount to sell already then I will hold it for long.

If you can do both then why not? But it's important you can manage your time so you can do it well.

That is right, day trading is not passing. What I described above is the strategy I suggested for op, which is investing in an intermediate period. It shouldn't be long time and it shouldn't be day trading. This will enable him time to study the market and also carry out his duties in the company.
But if he cannot it, he should try to make it passing by investing in a long time purpose with some percentage of his salary.
Apart from the physical stress, trading stress is worse, especially when you are on losses, you cannot concentrate on work.

Does anyone here day trade crypto successfully whilst working a full time job?

Those of you with normal jobs, are you day trading or mainly long term crypto investors/ HODLers?!!
I'm working full-time, 8 hours a day, and still trading. But what I observed is really hard to be in trading without enough time to check the market and mostly I indeed up losing. And I realized that I have to do trading only if I have enough time and during my off, yes it was more effective than what I did before. Trading requires time and focus, that is why if you are doing this make sure you have a good environment and your attention is only on the computer, otherwise, you will just lose your money.

often someone who works for real will not be able to focus on trading. Besides being tired, of course, there isn't much time for us to do research. even more often we are left behind for good trading momentum. too late to follow the hype that the coin is doing, being forced to follow then it will put us at a loss.

if you are a part-time worker. and it takes up your time so you feel tired. short term or long-term investment will be more suitable than trading. it only takes your time occasionally on the sidelines of your rest.

Does anyone here day trade crypto successfully whilst working a full time job?

I tried in the past but I am a total failure because i cannot focus in both , either I can't go to work after focusing in day trading or I will lose my trading if focusing in Job so this is not a good thing for me .

though we can use Stop/loss yet those are not enough way to successfully trade , Daytrading needs lot pf time actually we need to sit on our computer for hours just to monitor the flow and to find a best buy/sell.
maybe doing both only good for those who had expertise or at least good at it but in most crypto players? this is a heck of a risk to do.
just Work hard and invest , or trade lot and stop working.

Without a doubt it is hard as this is the equivalent of having two different jobs at the same time, and anyone that has ever done that knows how difficult it can be to perform adequately at both, however it is possible to do both if you are a really good trader, but since many people overestimate their skills then it is preferable that for people that have very intense jobs they become long term traders instead, as not only it is less time consuming but it is also easier to get positive results as long as you can wait for the market to move favorably.

Trading is of course something that can generate profit and income, not a strange thing if someone who only relies on trading he can be rich and of course has plenty of time to find other alternative income, of course, requires a large skill and capital to become a successful trader.

Day trade may be similar to a full-time trade so it's difficult to do it together with your full-time job. I think it will be better to decide if what works best for you. I know many people will prefer trading because it gives you freedom so why not quit your job?

Another good thing about trading is that your earnings are not going to be limited to a minimum pay. You are sure that all the efforts that you do are going to be worth it. Still, there are people who are loyal to where they started. They are loyal to their boss so they just go for investing instead and not trading, as it is more manageable. Unlike trading, investment doesn't needs a constant monitoring.

I would prefer to invest long term while working full time. Trading takes longer to analyze the market and can take away from working time. Trading not only takes more time but is also prone to losses. It is much better to hold for a long time with a guaranteed return, and buying regularly at low prices and waiting patiently is a profitable strategy.
