altcoins even itself has so many categories honestly, there are altcoin with utilities, there are altcoins with quite literally zero utilities and only being used as a tool of manipulation, i'd say even in investing altcoin one should classify that, but the thing is bitcoin is just a lot more safer because many institutional funds are actually getting in there, so the liquidity is good for exiting, you don't need to be worry about your investment affecting the overall market and causing your current value gets decreased when you decide to cash out your money.

If you are good at speculations then altcoins could earn you the desired profits in a short time, but for a long time investment, Bitcoin is the best decision concerning that and this is why we need to separate our portfolio into various stages, so for sure we can't accurately say which among Bitcoin and altcoin is the best investment choice since we have different preference for difference people.
But left for me, bitcoin is the best choice since you will have some level of stability in your investment and less risk.

if this is the case , then our desire and decision will stand , if we are looking for riskier but bigger opportunity to earn then we will be in altcoins (also meme coins or even shitcoins)
but if wanted a safer though slow moving/earning coin then that is Bitcoin and top ranking currency.
it will always depending in our thinking and ways of treating this market.

I will advise you to invest more on Bitcoin and little on Ethereum, because all those two coins will help you to make something reasonable from your investment, if you can exercise patience to hold like 4 or 5 years before you can sell. As of now and when OP made this topic I'm not sure if OP made a profit from bitcoin or Altcoin.
Indeed, the market has changed a lot in the past time, and perhaps there are also many signs for important milestones in the market.
However, I personally still want to advise OP if you already hold a certain crypto in the market, take some time to look back to see if the returns have satisfied you or not, and especially continue to research this market. about the top bitcoin and altcoins and the potential for major trends to happen. And especially stay away from exaggerated shitcoins and multi-tier models.

Do not forget that bitcoin will soon have a halving and now is the best time to increase its reserves, as many assume that the growth will be very significant in price. But I also agree with the opinion that alts from the first top 10 will also respond well to the event.So far I am betting more on bitcoin, alts in my portfolio are no more than 30%

In my opinion not enough time for buy btc now because dip price ended. But if you are a millioner then you can buy everyday of dip. You should buy some altcoins even not like only one alt coin. When you will received 1-2x price then quickly sold out. It's so enough move for a small investors like me.

Your account is small to invest in BTC IMO, if BTC hits $100k from here that is 3x ROI which is a very good return but for a big account if you have $100k and above to invest I will say to stick with BTC, and the top Altcoins but to grow a small account you need to take on more risks, look into projects outside number 1000 on coinmarketcap and research tokens with huge potentials that can give 5 to 10X this is where you should be looking at

I think if you have 800 dollars you should invest half of your money inside Bitcoin.The rest has $400 and you invest half of it in three or four of the top 100 cryptocurrencies in the market.And with the remaining amount, invest in two or three new and different good projects in the market.

In this way your money will be divided into crypto coins of different categories.Bitcoin has low return rate but also low risk whereas other cryptocurrencies have very good return rate.

Well there are many cryptocurrencies but in my opinion the best ones are these,Gala,Matic,Sand,Mana,ocean protocol,Mina,Rndr,CFX,Fantom,DYDX etc.

BNB, ETH, and Matic  is safest if we want gain profit stable because Top 10 Altcoin chart  every year is same. If you wanna gain more profit try it with Meme coin its huge profit will you get but with High risk. especially, altcoin like that seems bubble game you should where you will out and in at the right time
