I thought I'd better put this up so everyone has a chance at the reward.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

i don't think the forum software logs at that level of detail, it's more like a simple counter, i guess you will never know...

Nice blog  Smiley
Your right sidebar is like, too wide, or not wide enough or something.  It has annoying horizontal scroll bars.  Maybe it's my browser / resolution.  I'm using the latest version of Chrome.

Write a counter (db/flat-file backend) and when it reaches 100k, display a random icon/image via the page header.
The user can then do a screenshot and since you know what image should be on it, it cannot be faked.

No it was me! I think. Maybe. I am not convinced they can easily see this in the logs though…

The reward was upped to 2 BTC on the main thread. I think IP address will be the only way to tell which means someone will have to be trusted with our ip addresses. Anyone else got any better ideas?

I don't think there's any way for us to prove it ourselves, hopefully the forum logs individual hits, or IP's as was stated..
