Now you have $100,000 in your account, pure savings, and you don't need this amount of money to cover your daily expenses. Obviously it's good/free money to use at will. Let's say if you deposit the money into a bank and the annual interst rate is 3%, you will get a steady interest income year by year. If you use this money to buy Bitcoin, let's say the BTC drops to $17,000, you'll buy less than 6 Bitcoins. In the long run, what would you do with this money ? And why ?

Analysing the interest rate from the bank, each year I get a 3% interest which equals up to a $3,000 increment yearly. But with bitcoin at 17,000 at purchase time in a year if bitcoin grows up with a 1,000 price up (moves to $18,000) I will have my assest increased by 6,000 or so. And with bitcoin price at this low I expect it to get higher than that In year. Further more since it is an amount I could do away with I will readily invest it in a thing that stores my value. With it been in the bank I could face devaluation of that currency over time.

Wow! Reminds me of a few months ago when I thought of selling my house, maybe I'll have the same free money if it happened.
You can divide it into 2. 50% goes to crypto which is highly volatile. Out of the 50%, you can buy 2.5 bitcoins, and then for the rest, you can choose 3 to 5 altcoins. Just be careful with altcoins because they are very volatile but if you can make it right then the rewards will be very high too. Let's say $2k each to both ETH and BNB and then do a meticulous DYOR on 2 to 3 new projects or existing coins that have low market caps.

My point is that in addition to daily living expenses, we need to have a savings account in the bank, this money you can withdraw at any time, and it is for urgent work in life. So in this case, I will choose 20% to deposit in the bank and 80% will invest in bitcoin and gold. I want to diversify my assets and don't want to focus it all on one area, although Bitcoin can be more profitable but it takes a long time to achieve, so I don't want to be passive in investing.

Hundred Thousand Dollars in my local currency would turn me into an instant millionaire. My number need currently on my scale of preference is housing. The cost of house rent is eating deep into my finance and it is affecting the level of my savings and investment. I think I would consider building a house in a fairly semi-urban area. Then I would keep investing my yearly house rent on Bitcoin only. In the next few years, I would have acquired and Hodl a few Bitcoins that would make fulfilled. I don't think I would invest in other coins because I don't trust any of them.

I will only respond to the matter of buying Bitcoin with that much money because you are saying for someone who does not need that money as a daily expense in his life. Obviously it will be very profitable if the money is invested in Bitcoin which is less than 6 Bitcoin units. And if I had that kind of money right now, I would also buy Bitcoins if I still had some spare cash to live on for me at this point.

It depends on what’s your goal with your free money. I assume the subject has a good steady income for having this huge free money. The answer will always be an objective one based on the person perspective. For me, I will invest on business the 50,000$ then put the rest on Bitcoin. There’s no sense to stay the money on the bank since you have a steady income to cover all your expenses and necessities. There’s nothing to lose here so I will choose to venture out on investment opportunities that will give high return rather than put on the bank with minimal APY. Assuming Bitcoin bear market will last up to 3 years. You can still earn more on Bitcoin investment rather the bank because you profit on bank is limited only to 3% per year while Bitcoin is limitless.

It depends on the person involved and the mindset also. People invest on what they have interest and know about, therefore it will be difficult to convince a hater of bitcoin to invest in it, he will obviously be looking at the depreciation or drop times and calculating it as lost but not knowing that with time it will go back to profit. To invest in bitcoin is the best compared to keep your money in the bank and expect just $3,000 as return in a year when you invest $100,000. If you buy bitcoin now at $17,000, you can be sure of $50,000 turn over soon after halving.

First of all, I have to say that your bank is very generous if they are giving you 3% interest because the last time I checked with mine, they offered me a measly 0.5% lol. Regarding what I would do with $100k, I would probably buy bitcoin immediately with part of the money (maybe some gold too), then set aside a 2nd part to continue doing DCA and keep the 3rd part in cash as you never know what future brings.
I have to say that putting $50k in a couple of altcoins (given their track record over longer period of time) is not an investment but rather a gamble. You might as well go to a casino with $50k as you will certainly have more fun while having similar chances to profit in the end.

What bank is this? Our bank has only a 0.5% interest rate, but let's say it's 3%. Well, $100K is huge, so my plan is not to put all eggs in one basket, 50% of it goes to bitcoin, and the other 50 is on additional investment such as business or time deposit in the bank so that it would be safe. I know most of the answer here goes to bitcoin since we are in the bitcoin community, but bitcoin is risky, so to play safe, do not go all into the bitcoin as this is the most investors say, but if you are risk taker then go ahead invest all.

There are two things here that need to be done wisely. First investing wisely means that you need to invest in bitcoin and/or in good altcoins and also do the dollar cost average. Second wise thing is to store your bitcoin and crypto in a safe place. If you store your investment in centralized wallets or exchanges, then you are carrying the risk with your investment which can go to zero if those platforms scam exits.

Investment is always the way to go if we want maximum profit. Besides the bank interest cannot compensate to the deflation of value of money so it is wise to look for an investment that has a higher return. Looking at the option, investing in Bitcoin would be the better action to choose. If we look at the percentage growth of Bitcoin, it beats the 3% annual interest offered by bank and in addition we still have the access to the fund if we save Bitcoin in our own wallet. Profit aside, I believe it is always better to have control over our money. If we put our money in bank we lost our control. The bank then have the power over our money. But in Bitcoin , if we invest in it and keep it in our wallet, we have a 100% access and control to our fund 24/7 which we don't have if we put our money to the bank.

The investment is always successful if you recover your capital without problems, and therefore if you enter into an investment of $ 100,000, and you return that amount, then you will not have a problem. Long-term investment in Bitcoin will easily achieve this increase for you if you wait for several years, or at least until after 2025.
As for what you will do, if you do not have any plan with that money, donate it to charitable organizations in your country, as there are millions of poor people around the world.
You can also diversify investments to ensure that your profits will be available in all circumstances. Diversification of investments includes gold, stocks, real estate, and bonds.

If that's free money, I'll remove it on the bank. 3% annual interest won't even be enough to cover the inflation so that's still a loss even if you don't move it. If you use this money to buy Bitcoin, let's say the BTC drops to $17,000, you'll buy less than 6 Bitcoins. In the long run, what would you do with this money ? And why ?
I'll use around $50k to buy bitcoin and then the remaining $50k would be spread into personal savings and for expenses like $10k-$20k. While the others, I'll invest it again to another asset that might get me more passive income but not in crypto, maybe REIT, bonds and if that's plausible to buy some real estate or land property, I'll do it.

I personally always do some action in this regard. If my salary is 100% I always leave 40% for my daily needs and my desires in real life for 1 month the remaining 20% to be kept in fiat because I still can't get rid of it moreover there are always many needs going on like for multiple payments and 10% for savings of unforeseen needs and the remaining 30% I always save in bitcoins regardless of the price. I always do this regularly, especially if my unexpected needs are not used, I always enter directly for bitcoin because DCA still contributes enough for me and I'm quite happy with that. At the moment, from the results of the DCA for several months that I have been doing, even though I still haven't felt it because it is indeed in a bad condition, I still believe in bitcoin, especially when I do this too, with a target for the next few years, at least until 2024/2025.

I'd split it to bank and invest to Bitcoin. The title says "wisely" so would be better to diversify the investment so you have different source of income and be profitable in the long run. While you get steady interest from bank and also you'd get the profit from Bitcoin when the price reaches your goal on top of your bank interest. Some people hates to invest on bank, but also the rest would prefer to invest more into different kind of stuff.

Wisely means not to put all money inside a one investment, you need more investment not to rely on just one. I would divide what money I have and hodl half in bitcoin because of the potential for increase. I will invest 30% in altcoins that is topping the market because cryptocurrency is getting investment opportunities and if their is right altcoins investment that will increase with bitcoin also. I will keep 20% in cash not in bank depending on the amount, that will take care of bills including health because our health care is very important.

At these times of uncertainty, the quote about cash is true - 'cash is king'.
I'll be careful in where I'll be spending that much money but no doubt that I'll be having a huge chunk for bitcoin because I believe it and I know where it is going.
People will say to diversify it but I'll be taking time in doing that, so I'll be splitting it to cash and bitcoin only. I think that's a safe approach, I'll keep in bitcoin and as well as keep the cash, maybe 50/50 will do.

I'd rather invest it with Bitcoin. It's a sitting duck in bank savings, 3% annually is not much of a money considering they are using your own money to be invested in different funds. Why not do it yourself instead so that you will be the one profiting and not them. This is my mistake before as I thought the bank will somehow pay your loyalty to them, but it's not going to happen. Business is business and we should think the same as them. Investing is a risk but it can be rewarding if you know what you are supposed to do.

I wouldn't bring most of it to the bank for sure. I'd use half of it to buy a flat, so that I can stop spending so much on rent (mortgage rates are some of the worst in the world in my country, so that's not an option). Then $40k would go into Bitcoin for long-term hodling, and $10k can go to the bank account just because they can come in handy for traveling, visa matters and stuff like that, but not as a deposit on which I plan to earn interest rate.
