If the profit was more while using demo account, but losses was more while using real money to trade, it is because of emotion, but lack of good strategies can also be part of the reasons.

Like today, I won little amount of money, I close the trade, but knowing that the market will still go up, the market when up and I am not that excited. If it is demo account, that emotion will not exist during profit and losses, and making the trade not to be a real one.

Pyscology completely gets shifted when real money is involved. Like in demo trading, you may wait for your sl to hit before exiting a trade, but you would make silly mistakes with real account and try to exit way before the sl is taken (thinking about minimizing loss) then take opposite trade to get back those smaller losses, but they catch you naked in the end.
You can forget a fake trade, but you'll never forget the real one. And remember, The more you stare on your open trade, the more the chances become of making mistakes!

The most important difference between the two will be the emotions that you feel, if you are using a demo account even if you make a mistake and you suddenly find yourself losing 30% of your capital this will not affect you since you know it is not real money and you could even recover that money if you are a good trader, however if you were losing that amount in your real account it will be way more difficult to be calm about it, and instead such a loss will increase the chances you will make an additional mistake, and in those circumstances this could be the end of your career as a trader.

If you are already trading with your real money, your emotion change and probably your trading decision will be affected as well. Demo account is just like a trial and error phase for you, and the real challenge here is that when you finally deposit real money and start trading with it. Many trader loses their money instantly because they failed to analyze and they forget not to focus too much with their emotion. Learning how to trade properly will always takes time, don’t rush and just focus on your knowledge first.

Because of the obvious, demo account is just like that, it's purpose is for you to test how trading, no real money involved just the experience.

But with real account, it's very different, there is this pressure already that you will net to perform just like what you did on a demo, very successful. But then again, this entails real money so just a simple mistake will make you lose money. So we shouldn't compare the two, at least take advantage of the demo account. 1. Because there are a lot of changes when you start trading on real accounts, the orders, buy walls, sell walls are all real now compared to demo accounts. You still can't guarantee it here.
And also, even if you are in demo accounts, you still can't always do 100%.

Demo account is not useless, as the name denote and according to dictionary, demo means a demonstration of a product or technique. Although, in trading, it is better to practice with small amount of money like $10 to $15 with a less volatile market.

Demo is to test how trading works. After you check that, you can use small money to practice, while increasing it after some months if the profit is getting bigger and much more than the loss.

I remember when I saw an IQ option trading online, I downloaded an app for it, tried the demo and I lost all the whole fake money given me and I did not bother to use money to trade at that time. I am not using demo at all, but I have a friend that has no money to trade few months ago and use demo to take just $500 to $45000 in just one week, that fake profit is huge, but when he has money, he is only making few profit and he has never yet gotten to that amount, he was even broke from trading and he has not even gotten close that that profit before in real trading. When one trades on a demo account he follows all the same rules as when training on a real account with real money.  The only difference here is that demo account money you can never withdraw or use for personal work and demo account money will only give you a trading fun but you can't convert it into real money no matter how much you gain from training.  But if you trade with real money then the profit loss will depend on you and you can convert the profit money to fiat money whenever you want and spend it in your personal life. That's the difference between demo account and real account.

You made total sense, Literally I suffered this during my early stage of trading , my strategy was working perfectly in Demo trading account but when it comes to trading the live account, I began to see a different results and that put me into total confusion until I got to understand that the Demo account is just to give you the sense of what you can face in the real market.

But I do think that the presence of the market makers/manipulators that do trade with those super computers that sees wherever there are stops loses (liquidity) is what that really makes live account a bit different from the Demo account.

Why do you think people dont learn in real accounts also? If you meant that  they dont care about money, then yes, such person dont learn from losses. I see a loss in trading as putting a hand into open fire. One time is enough to find out that it hurts. There are cases that sometimes a person must burn a bit/make a sale with a loss. Trying out new strategies on a demo account is a good idea in my opinion and I would always go back to checking strategies out of sample if I am not fully convinced that they work. The idea behind a demo account is to make it much easier for you to simulate your trades than having them run in an excel sheet. During university we were offered a stock trading game by a big bank, where we could run our own portfolio for 6 months without using a real money. With my friends we really like it and where doing quite well. After the event was over we running our own portfolio with real money and where able to continue with our returns. That is why I would say that there is no big difference between a demo account and a real account. If you manage to be successful with your demo account than you will also be successful with your real account, just keep following the same strategies.

When I first started trading, a friend told me the same thing, and I felt it was right not to trade with a demo account. With a demo account, we will not be serious about starting and even trading a bit sloppy as we all know they are virtual, not real. Over time, it will form a bad habit for us and when using a real account, it is easy to make mistakes due to habit, or when using a real account, the psychology will be heavier. Start trading with a real account but with minimum capital. Don't try with a demo account, it does more harm than good for us.

Real accounts have no safety net nor training wheels the demo account provides, and mistakes are costly as it involves real money that is constantly at stake.

They can learn indeed, there's always a good impact when using demo if the trader, especially if they are

Being overconfident is most likely the things would happen when you do deal up with demo since you do have in mind that you cant lose money which it wouldn't really enhance your emotional skills when

you are dealing with Demo but in speaking with knowing terms and other things technically then it is really something that is really needed and considerable.There are really just things which

In that case, we can say that traders can make a good trade and earn a profit. They spend time using a demo account in order to familiarize the nature of the market and tried to look for effective strategies. So, if they learn from it then surely they can apply it in real trading but unfortunately, many had changed their minds and lost their trick as they got influenced by their emotions and FUDs.

This is why even if you have 5 years of using a demo account but still have no control over your emotions, nothing really happens in actual but just losses.

I think emotions takes a major role in Live trading compared to demo trading, my wife started demo trading few weeks ago she was making profits consistently having been convinced of her profits consistent making, I deposited $10 for Live trading Lol and behold she rekt and blown out the fund within a week, well she had realized her mistakes and I made her understand the difference between demo and Live trading, most especially while trying to chase losses in Live trading she will ended up incurring many losses unlike demo trading where she will   quit and wait for another trading opportunity.

that's how I felt at the beginning I traded and also played at the casino. with a demo account, we can do without the burden of placing trades.

Unfortunately, many traders failed because of their ambitious thinking like earning money too fast by putting in huge capital. I had a chance to learn trading last time because I got a kinda big ROI in one of my investment last year but then I become more greedier than normal days, instead of using it in spot since I am still a newbie trader I used it in futures I did not try to use demo account or demo trades before I enter futures, my money were being taken away from me a month after I got it. According to what I have thought and what many traders do not do, the demo account is to know the tools that the exchange has, and also to apply some of the trading strategies or trading plan that you have, but in my personal opinion yes I see it as necessary to always have a demo account to see how I can react to any eventuality, and even place buy, sell, buy or market limit orders, to find out if the platform has some kind of take profit + stop loss associated with it and put it up to date. At the same time, to trade in a relaxed way and only briefly check if you won or lost, that is the menare that I like to trade.
