The section is called Altercoin discussion so expect every topic to be discussed including price, I don't think altcoins have high-tech discussion due to their nature, the announcement thread of each project already took care of that, and also it is the right place to ask any tech related question.
Despite having the speculation board for such discussion, so many price discussion thread has been created.

We have Service Discussion (Altcoins), Service Announcements (Altcoins) and Mining (Altcoins) where technical discussions about altcoins are happening. Also, there's the Announcements (Altcoins) if needs to be specific talking about a project's technicality.

That is definitely true here and i would even add that it is even a little bit worse, because a lot of threads are not even discussions about good projects to invest in or other news that are happening in the crypto space with the altcoins, but they are just badly hidden shill threads for the 10000th new meme-coin with no use-case at all that will be dead again within a few days.
That being said, there are some news and events that were happening in the crypto space where i heard here in this sub-forum first. The main reason is probably because i am not active in the bitcoin section because i don't own any bitcoin myself. I agree though that a more technical and sophisticated area would be nice for the altcoins too.

If you are going to discuss a crypto projects, its pretty normal to talks about price and its future value because the purpose of that is to help you decide if you are going to invest or not. I don’t see any problem when discussing the price, you should be more concern about it because good timing on your investments is a must. This is already the altcoins section, you can see a lot of good topic here as well.

create your own, self moderated thread. If there is a big demand for such discussion, maybe it will grow as much as "Wall Observer BTC/USD" - 31 000 pages. But i doubt that. 99% of alts are copie/paste of other project with strong marketing only. Made for pump and dump shame.

If you are going to discuss a crypto projects, its pretty normal to talks about price and its future value because the purpose of that is to help you decide if you are going to invest or not. I don’t see any problem when discussing the price, you should be more concern about it because good timing on your investments is a must. Very normal discussion when it comes to price speculation and prediction which it would really be just normal that people would be saying up their speculations towards price.
Im much aware with that Bitcoin dev and tech discussion, for some people who do have indepth understanding on technical aspects would find out for this place to be  that relevant and interesting
which majority of people arent really that knowledgeable on that part.

As far as i know there's no such thing about those kind of board but rather these things are mostly been discussed on projects ANN thread when it comes to this aspect.
Im not sure if there are existing ones or doesnt really have.

There are threads here who talks about politics and Bitcoin as well, this forum is very diverse and I don’t see anything wrong about price speculation, many are more interested about that topics. This forum proves to be one of the best source of crypto information because you can see a lot of good topics here that can actually help you. Open your mind and you’ll see more opportunities, price speculation is good.

Do you mean the altcoin's technical side? Therefore, just tuned-in on their respective threads for updates or what so. There are lots of altcoins around that you can't expect to have a dedicated section just for its technical side.

Since there are lots of altcoins, you will really see discussions related to price or investment, and that includes predictions and speculations.

Can you share some of those threads that you think are not appropriate in this section?

@OP, If you want to discuss technical matters in an altcoins, you can initiate a discussion regarding it on this board by creating a topic. It will attract others to join in the discussion as well. In addition, usually for each Altcoin, they have their own topic to inform any developments that occur in their network or ecosystem, you can find it at Announcements (Altcoins). Don't mind every conversation about price, believe it or not, there are plenty of people here who are not interested in learning more about the technology behind an altcoin, they (or maybe we all) are just looking to profit from it.

There are many discussions about the altcoins, their buying, which one is better, etc. But regarding the name altcoin discussion, I had seen fewer posts about the altcoin to the point, although there are many more discussions about the altcoin in other threads, you need to check them out for the price prediction and another discussion which you want.

It's part of the discussion, TBH. I understand why people are interested in the price because they are using it and buying it as an investment, not as the token itself. Most people are in this because they are interested in the profit factor of the whole cryptocurrency scene.

You can request the board in the Meta Board. But I don't think it's essential because there's a Speculation board

You can just try to report those posts that have come to your nerves if you don't mind. Mods can do something about it.

With so many altcoins around then it is natural that people lean towards discussing the price of altcoins more than anyhting else, however we need to also recognize that since the majority of the time investors put their money in altcoins not because they actually believe the coin itself has any chance of making a difference during the long term but just to speculate with it, then when we think about it the price is probably the only thing investors care about the coin in which they invested.

You can also discuss about development and technical topics here. It's either you will create a separate thread or you will take it to the official ANN thread of the specific project. I think this is the setup because there are hundreds of projects under altcoin. Under Bitcoin, there's only one. It's Bitcoin alone.

You can open it under Altcoin Discussion or in the project's official thread under Announcements (Altcoins). If it's about altcoin mining, you can do it under Mining (Altcoins). There are also Service Announcements (Altcoins) and Service Discussion (Altcoins) for certain topics involving altcoin related services.

Strictly speaking, if a discussion is about the price of a certain coin, it should be under Speculation (Altcoins).

Yes, Ops should check and explore all the boards in Alternate cryptocurrencies so he can find threads that can fit his criteria to be discussed or made by himself, but the boards and threads that discuss prices and projects are more in demand so that the threads that discuss technical and others are drowned.

you can try going to the ANN thread of the coin/token. that's where they often discuss the details of the project. after some time though the dev team rarely goes back to answer questions technical discussions but just an update of what they are doing at least.

if you want to find out the altcoins development, go to the telegram channel, they will reply or to their blogs.

     You know that all altcoins or cryptocurrencies have a price value, of course when talking about altcoins it will not be out of place to talk about their future price in the future or what is happening in the present.

So, for me, there is nothing more to add here in the forum because almost everything is already here where to find what you want to know dude.

I certainly could. But with technical discussions making up less than 1% of the volume here, they become very hard to pick out. I only visit this board once a while, and have no hope of quickly identifying the few technical threads that do not discuss price and investment (which are completely boring to me).

I want to see a low volume Altcoin technical Discussion, just like the one for Bitcoin.

I don't really know your thought over price discussion but for me i would always ask you to engaged yourself to the section which you best suited than get upset over discussions that involved prices. For instance, Bitcoin Discussion section board would likely involved little prices discussions while the altcoin sections also have prices discussion so it is normal for people around to discussed about price.
There are lot of threads that doesn't includes price which you would like search around.

The purpose of altcoin projects is also to find a way to increase the price of their tokens, so it really doesn't make any sense to just talk about the technologies or solutions that the project offers while the value of their tokens does not increase. We are in an investment forum so it is normal to talk about price, if not about price and value, it is no longer a financial forum.

I think OP could also create a thread that only discusses the technology of that project without discussing the price, but whether anyone is willing to join you is the issue.
