I hold them to be fair. I have some that are gone like literally gone to cents from hundreds of dollars and I have absolutely no hope that they would recover, they are just zero in my eye, but what am I supposed to get from selling something for 3 cents, I mean that doesn't even cover the transaction fee so isn't it normal to just keep them. Some of them are not that bad, they are down %90 which is a lot for sure but not "gone" we are in a bear market so maybe they will recover, and that's why holding them is a good idea as well. I never really felt like selling anything at any point, even if they were a mistake, I just hold them.

Maybe not only profitable but a very solid one that you think won't continuously decline its price,

Discard alts that you think are stagnant with their updates, because more than likely, the devs have no future plans for this project.

Are you buying altcoins right now? Because if that is the case I can tell you this is a mistake, if you already had a lot of altcoins in your portfolio and you failed to sell when the market began to crash then I can understand if you held those coins hoping for a recovery, but to buy altcoins when we are still in the middle of a bear market is a big no, because as we know altcoins not only are even more volatile than bitcoin but they are also way more prone to disappear out of nowhere, which could leave you holding a bunch of useless coins if you are not careful.

Filling up more good altcoins especially with BNB and XRP because I know they can survive all the FUD and when the market recovers they will also rise. If you are going to deal with the altcoins better not to buy any shit tokens or small tokens, because for me they are not worth it and there’s a huge risk dealing with them, I’m also limiting my exposure to altcoins as much as possible.

I don't really looke at my portfolio value anymore at the moment, that is just to depressing for me lul. It as already down like 95% in comparion to it's ATH from back in may 2021, even before all that stuff with Terra, FTX and now Binance happened and now it is even way lower than that. I will just keep hodling my altcoins because it would just feel wrong to sell them now after i have held them for so long all the way down. To sell now would mean i would realize those losses or to throw away that potential profits.
I am pretty relaxed though as i only have small amounts into crypto and that is only money that i can afford to lose without any impact on my daily life.

That's the best you can do. Selling at a 95% loss isn't worth it given that you will only receive a pinch of your investment. I have the same scenario during the 2018 bear market but I had sold my assets that time even I know it isn't worth it, The result is I regretted my decision and decided to just don't touch any coins that has lost 90% of value over the buying price. That's a good way of managing your funds. As long as you have money for survival, you won't be force to sell at a loss. I learned it the hard way.

Well you could do something if you're really that eager to profit such as moving from one altcoin to another which would be more profitable, just if you'd like to. There are just investors which do not move their asset around and that's just fine. On my end, I tend to move around the cryptospace. The only risk is to make your losses bigger if you'd come across with a worse token. Market downfall is obvious and it is just a matter of trial and errors if you'd do the same thing as mine. Just sharing.

I agree. On such cases, it would be better to just be firm with your investment. Unless there are no chances for a recovery (you decide). There are 'dead tokens' in this industry which does not move even during bullish trend. If you have this kind of investment, it would be better to choose liquidation to free your mind from it. But if you could just set the amount aside, you may just also keep it as some sort of additional asset.

Bitcoin is going lower and lower because we are in bearish market right now. Most of the altcoins are going down because usually it's following Bitcoin's price mostly. At least if you don't need emergency funds and would like to take a risk then would be better to just hold it. Otherwise, you can cut losses the loss and wait until the price is most likely "stable" for bit longer.

Well, I'm the same, going to DCA but right now I want to see the next month in January. Maybe we can see another bottom in Q1 2023 but no one knows or right now is the bottom for all cryptocurrencies. There are a lot of negative conditions from external like recession in the next year, FUD over Binance, crisis energy, and many more.

When are confident about the technology and business behind some altcoin and that altcoin is falling down, we do not have any other option except buying more to average to get better benefits in long run. Investing into bitcoin at this bottom of bearish market must be a wise decision on my opinion; I appreciate that but for buying altcoin at bottom prices needs lots of cautious. So, diversifying your altcoin bag will help among these highly unpredictable altcoins.

Once you decided about DCA then you may go investing for 10% of your capital each week till the end of first quarter of 2023. DCA is a weapon to help you for NOT missing out bottom. Besides holding, I think we need to do one more thing that is equally important: stop buying altcoins, investing in altcoins at this point is too risky and not worth the risk. If we continue to believe bitcoin will fall further, then altcoins will fall even more, and if we buy now our losses will increase further.

If we are long-term investors, we never have to worry about the current market situation. Indeed the best thing to do is to keep calm and hold, and never mind about the price decline. As long as we are investing in trusted and usable projects, it eventually rises when the market will recover. But with those coins that OP has, I don't think this will have a big chance to recover, yet it is just a little chance. If I have those coins, I already sell them earlier and not to wait for another crash as surely to fall hard than the others.

This reflects exact my stand on my altcoin hoarding. Honestly we do not have any other option except keep holding even we do not have any belief about good returns out of initial investments. Waves and ada are good example here trading below with more than 80% down from their ATH price levels. But, these are the coins I personally believe about bouncing back to get me massive profits if we keep accumulating some more at current prices.
