Do not rely on your windows 10 or 11 security, it's not very active like you believe, trust me, I am talking from an experience.

I used to update my windows security just to make sure my data are save but a day ago I battled with something new, I detect under my windows settings that memory integrity is off and the whole OS starts behaving abnormally.

Memory integrity prevents attacks from malicious code but once it's off you are vulnerable, to cut my story short I found out that my PC is infected with Adware, I scanned the whole PC but windows security still tells me that everything is normal.

I used a premium adware/malware software I found three adware trojan on my PC, one has something to do with crypto hijack and the other two are like driver something, I am a very careful user and this still happens, this is why I don't use my PC to store crypto.

have you install or happen to be downloading crack software on torrent site?
downloading crack versions will give high chances of being infected why? because we never know what they have put inside a software we have download
this is the problem of one of my client who loves using crack versions all of his computers have a miner, she don't even know, high specs computer but crawling to use.
as the technology improves so as the malware being deploy, if also you use normal browsing not going to a pornsites, or other sites that you know you are going to get infected that might be a bit safe, but better install antivirus, and make sure dont just click what pop up in the screen because its going to be disaster, sometimes its the user who put his/her computer into trouble 100% of the time.

Bro if Windows security is enough then there's no need for these anti-virus and malware fighters but the truth is malwares are good at getting in Windows security features because it's not enough and it can hardly detect malware besides these anti-viruses are created specifically to combat new viruses that are coming out, securing your computer is not one way, it is a combination of installing the right AV malware and educating yourself on how to protect your PC by not clicking unfamiliar links and downloading unknown software or coming from fake software makers.

It boggles my mind how a lot of people refuse to purchase a >$100 hardware wallet despite holding 5+ digits worth of cryptocurrencies. People tend to frequently overestimate their knowledge concerning computer security.

You should use hardware wallets, but be careful with second hand harrware wallets. Let's buy new and official wallet to use.

Try to use Antivirus or Internet security softwares. Good ones with fees, not free versions. But they have false negative and cannot protect you 100%.

Windows security is one of the layers for windows but today human is improving to find another way to enter the security of windows of course if you have a way to create it there's a way to alter those and that's the part trying the hackers to penetrate your system and make an injection of the malware, virus and etc. Of course, you have the funds to have your cryptocurrency why not invest at the same time with the security like having the License regarding the windows, additional with the Eset and more in the market of course you have your own cryptocurrency get your hard wallet which is just a cent if you are an investor.

Windows own security is far less nowadays. Good real time antivirus ( not Windows ) + passive anti malware software can be enough.

I find Windows Defender to be more than sufficient for my needs. I just use regular websites, I do not download torrents, stream random movies or use P2P marketplaces.

Obviously do what suits yourself but Windows is fine for me.

You're probably underestimating how easily a malware can slip through the cracks despite you being "careful" with your computer browsing habits.
