These are some of the unofficial guidelines we must implement/follow in order to combat spam and keep this board as clean as snow (I know it's impossible to achieve a clean board without a bit of spam), but it can be reduced if we stick to the following rules, which, as I previously stated, are unofficial and subject to change and improvement over time). I'll leave the thread open for comments.

The rules are good and linient enough to abide with and as time goes on there may be room for improvement for additional rules that will also contribute towards the required guide needed on how every member of this locale to behave, i will in addition suggest the rules to be pinned and locked with time for everyone to see or better still, this can be a general rules discussion thread for the board while there will be another thread created and pinned only for the rules and regulations, i must commend you guys to be doing well in bringing things together for good and benefit of all.

To avoid daily bumping and spamming under the topic, I will lock it after taking in suggestions and when everyone is satisfied with the rules (based on the votes thus far), and then we/I would kindly request it to be pinned via PM because it will serve a valuable purpose on the local board. It only takes a few seconds to pin a thread, so it's not a big deal.

The rules dey okay and good to go for now. They are very straightforward, concise and easy to understand by anyone. Any other thing that is necessary to add can follow up after this. As you’ve also suggested, this thread should be pinned to the top so that newbies on the local board can easily see it and read through before joining other activities here. Welldone Igehhh.

This is a good effort that is commendable @igehhh, kudos to you. Rules are important in a community like this and I believe we are good to go with these ones. We are used to communicating under the Naija subforum, much more might not be needed pretty soon. But there would be moments where reasons might later present themselves to add to the ones posted above.

Make the rules wey dey govern this board be our guidelines for the interim until we settle down Wella. As e be now ehn, rules na wetin dey hold platforms, organizations, nation's, associations etc for them to dey together make no Yama Yama come out wey go bus cata cata because if e happen na every O man on your own o wey no go make sense at all.
 Like as you talk, say the rules go dey but as time goes on say amendment and changes go dry, new ones go dey added while some existing ones go dey modified e better that way so as you talk make we take am like that.

Well done Igehhh. You have done well. I have no doubt that this is serve as a very good intro to newbies in the future. I would like to make a suggestion. I don't know if this can be added to the rules. Make we dye try search the board first before we make any post to avoid repetition of topics and redundancy. For example creating several topics to discus the new CBN policy with the bank note redesign when there is no new idea or analysis in it.

So far so good, we dey progress and one thing I use Sabi Naija be say we no dey ever carry last and e dey show even for this forum and I just wan say una too much.

No be older users here they decide/consider new users to be valid member, as long as say you be Nigerian, you are eligible to post here, even non-Nigerians sev they free to comment for here or anywhere else (local boards included) as long as you sabi the language of communication for the board (without using GT or plagiarising), thus we would appreciate it if we have more quality users and less spammers, but this board is open for all. If users spam here, you can basically report their posts.

We no go fit add that one to the unofficial guidelines/rules for here, no be naija users go tell moderators wetin them go do for forum, them they handle issues on a case by case basis, thus na moderators they decide wetin them go do about any user wey break rules (whether na Nigerian or not). Mind you say Nigerians they do well for forum, and na only very few times wey i don see say Naija person break rules or got banned, thus we suppose only tell new users about the forum rules and teach them wetin them suppose know. We no suppose put any extra effort to protect ourselves or to tell people say Naija people they good and industrious, if them no wan believe, na them they lose.

This is what I have been doing so far only those with 5 posts or more are considered to be a full member of the Naija local board, those who only post once and disappeared we nodey too reason dem for the matter. If you check my monthly overview thread you go notice say no be everybody der. And there are still few members yet to added too...

Coyster is right. If anyone is reported, we cannot agitate for a permanent ban; that is up to the admin to decide. We are human, and no matter how long you have been here, sometimes unexpected mistakes lead to a permanent or temporary ban. In such cases, we also support the user against being permanently banned, but in some cases where the user consistently breaks rules, he will be banned and no one will say anything.
