I know of women who have the passwords to their husbands bank cards and they can make withdrawals on his behalf. I will like to ask the Men here if they have shared their seed phrase with their wife's? I will like to ask the women here how they will feel if their husbands refuse telling them their seed phrase?

I believe it would depends, because not all housewives are good in handling money or budgeting them, instead it's the other way around. Some or should I say most of the housewives are good in spending their money on things that they wanted, instead of needs. I would not have any problem sharing my seed phrase to my wife since I know she's good in handling money. She rarely spend money on things she wanted since our priority is our kids first.

Also, she will always ask permission if she's going to spend our money. We always talk whenever we're going to make a decision. It is important that the decisions or feelings are always mutual.

You wasn't been scam you just been blind with love lol. Anyway, you've just given your full trust to your girlfriend, even if the two of you have not yet married, but again, out of love, you've given everything and I can't blame you. Yes, I now realize how big a mistake I made by giving my girlfriend my private key. I think I made an even bigger mistake in my relationship with her. After my ex-girlfriend stole my money, she ran off with another guy. I  Got this news from his close friend. I now realize how big a mistake I made. I chose a wrong man. I thought I would make him my life partner but he cheated on me. I am now thankful to the above walla for removing this bad girl from my life.

I'm a man and I don't have any wife yet.

There will be a time that I will be a husband soon, and I guess I will share my seed phrase to her. All of my seed phrases which contains all of my altcoins will be shared to her. I guess there is nothing wrong with it right because your husband and wife already.

This might how I feel but I know that this is a subjective topic, and we aren't experiencing the same. The word here is trust. If you trust your husband/wife, you will give all of your seed phrases to him/her. The good thing is I trust my current partner thus, I will share it to him in the future.

The answer to this question will be different for different people because the relationship between husband and wife is seen from different angles in different countries of the world.  But in my country marriage is viewed religiously so divorce is very less in my country.  In our country, a lot of good relations are created between husband and wife, as a result of which the secrets of husband and wife are disclosed to each other.  Now coming to the main question, I have shared all the secret passwords and private keys of all my cryptocurrencies directly with my wife.  Especially if I am not near my device, my wife does all the rest of my activities.  So I share all my wallet secrets with my wife.

My answer is it depends.

• How long have they been wife and husband of each other?
• Because a first few years are the most challenging years and divorces usually happen in first few years especially first two ones

After spending a few years as a wife and a husband and nothing bad happens and especially if a couple have their children, it's a good time to think of sharing seed phrases of your wallets. It does not apply for all couples but if you feel you're happy with your soul mate and trust him or her, have a bond between you twos (your children), sharing it is very good.

I share the same point you too because you see many marriage is breaking up and most happen on early years of marriage. You can disclose your seed phrase and after a short time the marriage can go south and you know if this is to happen the woman can be wicked to converting your coins if she know how to do that or give it to another person for help. Love is not only what marriage survive so I think giving out certain information may be after sometime if the marriage is lasting a longtime but it good to let the wife in to your phrase but not early in marriage.

Then when I got married, I introduced Bitcoin to my wife and taught her step by step how to buy, sell and withdraw fiat money into a bank account. I don't want to be selfish, my wife needs to know what I'm doing and feel obligated to teach her. The reason is very simple, life is always faced with possibilities that are never known.
Who can guarantee someone will always be healthy and who can guess someone's age.
Due to the two reasons above, I chose to teach my wife so that she could become an heir or be able to cash out all the crypto assets that I have when something happens to me.

Death is an inevitable thing that nobody knows their death day, and if it comes upon someone who has a lot of crypto assets that nobody is aware of, all assets will be lost for ever (unless they have any family relative who has access by chance).

One rich man in my place had lots of landed properties, and his family was not aware of most of them. The man had three houses in the city where I reside. None of his family members or lawyers were aware of those houses. Tenants lived in those house for three years without anyone coming to demand rent from them. One of the tenants reported the situation to the police, and they carried out an investigation and found out the man had died three years ago; they later discovered he own three houses in that city.

Like I said from the beginning, I can allow my wife to have access to my seed phrase.

Why not make a testament with a super detailed instruction? Now two extra persons are ready to spend your crypto Imagine one day you will piss your brother so much, so that he will decide to revenge you. He can use crypto for that. Now he is always one score before you. Why not introduce other family members with your seed phrase then, since 2 already are aware of it. Share only a part of phrase to every family member,  but each one gets a different one. In case you die, they will need to take a collective decision to use funds. But it will be better if less people know about your crypto.

I trust my wife enough that I do not need to protect against her. I only protect against people that I do not trust. I think if you cannot trust your wife with your btc then you have bigger problems that btc cannot solve. I don't think it's very safe to share the seed with your partner even if this is the only person in the world to trust. There are various reasons and I will mention a few, for example what would happen if you were to separate in a certain time? If you weren't able to move your funds it might appropriate it before you do. Another hypothesis if he had the intention to steal you for a long time he would do it with ease because you gave him the seed yourself. Or she could talk to someone who might force her to reveal the key. In short, it is better not to trust.

I personally wouldn’t think that a seed phrase is ‘need to know’ information for a spouse. As long as they know where they could access it if something happened to you or you had some other end of life plan in place, I don’t see a reason why knowing the phrase would be important. I also would think it’s a bit of a red flag if someone was even wanting the information…

Why should it always be the man sharing, and the woman deciding whether to get angry or not if the man refuses to share?

Anyways, my wife doesnt know my private keys for some reasons -
/1. I've not told or showed her my private keys and will never
/2. I've taught her everything she needs to know about bitcoin and crypto currencies, but i saw that she wasn't really ready to get involved yet, so i let her alone.

I will never directly show my private keys to my wife for some reasons, one of it being that I don't know all that the future holds for us, on my own, i might be ready to live with her till death do us part, but i cant predict her mind, she might wake up one morning and demand for a divorce for some reason or the other, so for this reason, my private keys remains private to me.
I can only leave hints, which would help her and my children locate my private keys just incase death suddenly knocks on my door and did not give me the opportunity or chance to properly hand over my keys to her before my last breath.

In my opinion, your wallet could be compared to your local bank where your money is stored. As with most married couples, bank accounts are separately held and kept. Not forgetting that some married folks also operate joint bank accounts as well.
I think allowing your spouse to know your seed phrase isn’t all that bad. It all depends on the level of trust the couples have for each as an individual would obviously only give out bank details to a trusted person. So it all depends on the level of trust the couple share among themselves.

Yeah, why the hard earned money need to go unused. Maybe one shouldn't need to share the seed phrase, but it is a must to share how he/she have secured the seed phrase. Only the if something unexpected happened to the person who had control over the funds, it can be used further. Myself too never thought of it, now I prefer teaching my close ones about the seed phrase.
