Should Merits and signature campaign be the only cheer to have interest and feel satisfied with the forum alone, I've seen many members not having enough Merits and have been active on the forum, while some have also been very active and nit interested in participating in a signatory campaign, i think what needed to first define is your purpose for coming, this will now determines what you are after and how you can get it fulfilled, so don't tell me those not in a signature campaign or not having Merits got their immune weak on the forum by being timid or got inferior, but i think everyone likes the way he has found himself here since each user determines his fate all by himself here on bitcointalk.

Different folks with different interest, you may be correct that some are in the forum for merits, signatory participation and investment but it's most likely that there are many others in bitcointalk that have no interest in any of the aforementioned above by you. They could be satisfied with the ideas they benefits from the forum, the questions and answers/solutions they get to cryptocurrency issues bothering them and some other interests not mentioned could just be well enough to boost their interest. For those that knows better, bitcointalk has numerous benefits to render not limited to those you mentioned mate.

I do not think we need to label these things like immune boosters and energy boosters members are motivated by money and that will never change. Merit has become something that is required to earn money here and I do not think we need to get any more spiritual than that not everyone is here for money the wo topic has a lot of legendary members that do not participate in signature campaigns but it is true that most members are here for signature campaigns.

'Immune' boosters seem like a wrong term in the context it is being used. Energy boosters (which was used) or incentives which keeps one attracted to the forum is more appropriate.

The most potent reason why many members visit the forum daily, is the potential of earning from it. It is the reason users seek out merits to be able to rank up, and the reason members post to be able to build your activity or meet up with the requirements of a campaign they are on.
I can predict that if all means of earning on the forum is shut down, the traffic here would drop by almost 90% within the first week.This is definitely more a beration of the members here, but how human nature is. We commit time to things we benefit from; knowledge is a great benefit, but an extra incentive is needed by most to push them to seek out knowledge.

I don't agree with you in this very one because I've seen alot of active accounts who have been on the forum for over years and still at very low ranks without any signature campaign or so.
I agree with you in the basis of merit as a morale booster as you named it because for every merit I receive, there is always a huge joy in my heart certifying that I'm doing a good job.
Truth be told that merit is a prove that your post  captured a heart and possibly solved a problem or gave solution and everytime I earn one or more, I feel fulfilment.
On the basis of investment, I would say that having a profitable investment somewhere that give hopes of money is also a major factors enhances once stay in the forum as investors wants to stay ahead of the market and with an active presence here, there are chances of staying ahead of the market if the right things and analysis are Ben done.

I don't think there's some other platform like Bitcointalk though(except that one platform, CryptoTalk if I remember correctly, but it sucks). Bitcointalk is the only relevant forum with signature campaigns.

I think the only booster as you called it, is the knowledge we learn here.  Aside what you listed above, member's knowledge about bitcoin boosts on daily basis. When I'm in the midst of bitcoiners my responses standout and they tend to listen to me more than any other person in the room. Many people who are not members of this forum don't know the features of bitcoin and its usage. When you use terms like open source and closed source wallet in a conversation a lot of bitcoiners who are not members of this forum  may get confused. So it's not just a flex, but it effects uniqueness in us amongst others. If you read this forum to some extent you will be happier to learn new terms more than you were after getting your first merit. Those who don't learn in the forum may leave the forum even before earning their first merit.

That means you here for money not any other thing. Time is coming that the forum will know you really belong if money is the problem to you. Though many users here are for that purpose but hey are hiding it but it is obvious that you expose yourself. I got on the forum before I knew about signature campaign and merit system. As much as I want my merit to increase, I came here to learn about bitcoin. I didn't know what the forum entails before I joined, I thought it's just a place to learn and talk about bitcoin. It was after I joined and I started reading and that's when I got to understand the forum. As a matter of fact I'm still getting to know about the whole forum. So I'll say my "immune booster " is first my curiosity before the things you mentioned because it was out of curiosity I registered to this forum.

Apart from the ones you've mentioned, which are very common here, they could still be more energy boosters, but only the person who sees it as an immune booster will know.

Everyone here is motivated by what brought them here; if you get what you want and it works for you, I believe you'll want to interact and participate more here. Those who do not achieve their goals here tend to become discouraged and participate less in the forum discussions. While it is being created, the forum has a purpose; if everyone is here for that purpose, we will have more active users here. The easiest thing to do to contribute to this forum is to observe and look for the categories where it fits you the most because sometimes users will only active in one section of the forum but he actually helping a lot of people there and because of his complex knowledge about the topics there. You are right on that because I have also seen many posters not having signature campaign on them or applying either. For those users it doesn't matter what financial gains from the forum yet they are dedicated to the forum, supporting other users were necessary. So I think the main benefit or booster is the learning process that the forum affords. It trains people's mind to investment in bitcoin and cryptocurrency it also expose users to the reality that online space is to be taken with all care and diligent not to be scammed.

You know, just like @lovesmayfamilis mentioned, it's not bad to admit the real motive behind your joining the forum as this is not some exam hall where one would need to join the bandwagon and tick the popular answer.
 If I were to be honest, I joined because I wanted to satisfy my curiosity; which was knowing how a forum could pay you just by being contributive. Yeah, you're not wrong. However, I think the merits should take a back seat.

Personally, I don't see the forum as a place where we talk about our investments, but more as a place where we talk about the technical aspects that make our investments quality ones.
As joker_josue said, knowledge is priceless, and this forum is probably the best place in terms of resources and centralisation of knowledge. Many forum members are real sources of knowledge and make their knowledge available to everyone. I could have spend 10 years on Reddit, I wouldn't have learned the 1/10 of what I learned here.

There's also the local aspect: it's excellent to have Local Boards that can help cover current events and explain difficult concepts and ideas in their mother tongue. If Bitcointalk didn't exist I don't know where people would come to ask questions specific (for free I mean) about their country's legislation, taxation, legal changes etc...

Well there are members in the forum who aren't interested in the signature campaigns, well not because they don't meet up in rank or status, they actually do some of them have great reputation on the forum but yet they aren't interested in campaign, the best guess is that they are probably very well doing for themselves and don't actually need the extra pay from signature campaigns but we still aren't 100% sure on that, but still they are active on the forum.

In fact I like this forum more than many articles on other sites. The forum has resources from many directions to validate. So we were given the option of many answers on the topics covered and it really helped to determine my best move. All forum participants have a desire to provide the best validation. In fact, they also list reading sources as references. So I didn't take much time to find out the truth of the information written. Another bonus is that this forum gives us additional income. This forum provides additional work from either signature or project bounty projects.

Merit, signature campaign, and investment are interrelated in this forum. You need merit to join a campaign and you need the campaign fund to invest in Bitcoin. There is another part of this forum that everyone should desire to have, Reputation. Reputation is more valuable than a signature campaign because it can give you more than money. That are not the only immune boosters the forum have, did you check the marketplace where people buy and sell goods, did you also check the games and round where people make predictions and win bitcoin for free, have you checked the bounty and altcoins board because more than half population of the newbies are all centered in those boards, they love anything that has to do with free money and there free small airdrop of $$ that they earn from there, so I think it is worth a review with your conclusion, you should also check the gambling board where people follow betting companies for bonus and events for betting.

Merit never existed at first; but the activities in here wasn't relinquishing as compared to this day... So for that reason, that cannot make me believe that those "IMMUNE" boosters are really the case here.
Users like JAY JUAN and philipma have been active in here for over 8years or so, but they're not even in any campaigns lately. Campaigns are seen as fringe benefits for excellent contributions amongst forum users,..I wouldn't say it's not enticing; cus why are we having more peeps bargaining on ways to get merited just to join a signature campaign?? Yes, receiving a merit or merits is an immune or morale booster. I remember the first time I received a merit on my topic. I was over the moon and both my confidence and morale increased. It felt like I was visible, like I was contributing to the growth of the forum and adding knowledge to whatever was already there for Bitcoin. I wanted to do more and I sure did more. So go for it if that's how you see it because that is certainly how I saw it.

I think the main booster of the forum is the information and community it has.  Company won't flock in this forum introducing its services if the forum isn't member and information-rich forum.  Merit and activity is just a part of requirement in order to rank up thus, people who wanted to participate in signature campaign works to make the Merit and activity to raise up, but without these company that runs signature campaign in the forum, I still believe the forum will still be active and alive due to the information and being the announcement ground of most of cryptocurrency projects, not saying Bitcoin talk have members that is very knowledgeable about bitcoin and I believe this is the main booster of the forum.

When you talk about the information and community it has, the community will depreciate greatly if ;

• The merit system is removed: this will cause the level of spam so unbearable
• Signature Campaign is stopped: it feels good to earn while interacting
