just seen videos and informations on litecoin talk forum about a brand called lokotech, developing a scrypt hashblade that uses a gpu slot with asic chips to mine ltc and doge, according to them it produces 2gh/s and uses 150 watts.

i only found their videos of presentation in a conference its on youtube, youtubers talking about it, and their a company from norway, dont know much about them, there is no hashrate, no hardware for now, just promises, im.a bit skeptic about them, i know eventualy in time hardware and chips can be more eficient.

heres the link :

https://litecointalk.io/t/lokotech-scrypt-asic/56593

their website https://www.lokotech.no/

i have no affiliation with none of them, just to be clear.
some shiller youtubers have videos on this as well.

coments?

Too good.

the L7 does 9gh at 3000 watts

this claims 2gh at 150 watts

or
18 gh at 1350 watts

now that means 2x  L7 does 18gh at 6000 watts.

so we are talking a 6000/1350 = 4.444 to 1 improvement.

My guess is bogus as the 4.444 to 1 is simply too big of an improvment.

I like the concept of a GPU form factor ASIC miner but, like Phillip said, too good [to be true].
It has to be made with available ASIC chips so the power claims are obviously out of line.

Shame as they use Norway as an honest country with good rules. Since I am 25% Norwegian descent I feel sullied a bit by their pitch on youtube.

Besides the earliest they will release it will be Dec 2023.

If it is real hashrate will rise like mad.
And it will be sabotaged like a mofo by bitmain.

I did put my name on their list to be notified.

But I very likely would not get them.

150w? what is it a light bulb? LOL.

the reason usb type ASICs were loooong gone because in the end the more power you consume the more hashrate you produce (assuming the silicon tech comparison is the same or just one generation away.)

Not only that but even their website is not convincing at all,so most probably as you guys say when something it is too good to be true it usually is not and most likely is a scam. They have not put much effort at all in their website compared to other legit producers which give detailed explanation also of their upcoming products, here is just a guy who is answering queries, more like a blog than a real website.

Let's not talk about the power consumption which is the biggest improvement we have seen so far,2 Ghsh for 145 watt when the devices from Bitmain with lower and bigger hash rate consume a lot more than this,so a big red flag this one.

well thats my problem, thats why im skeptic and think it migth be a scam.

current asic chips arent eficient enough, if they were you would see better and cheaper asics by now.

tech evolution currently is slowing down due to the world problems, covid, lockdowns, that impacted directly the chips manufacturers.

and using norway as a "safe" and trust us slogan isnt enough.

in the next years maybe we will see better chips, more eficient and probably cheaper, but i think we still got a long way to go.

mining nowadays isnt for all specialy btc and algoritms that are heavy, that need more hash power and for that reason use more watts, mining of btc, ltc even kda become too centralized, not what satoshi intended in first place.

hoping for better days, with less huge mining farms, less companies profiting, but im guessing for that to happen it would be need a time machine hahaha.

time will tell if this tech is real or just a very bad gimmick.

time will tell if this tech is real or just a very bad gimmick.

If it does what they said they were stupid to launch it this way. They needed 1 investor. They needed to build 10,000 of them and launch it that way.

The tech will get reverse engineered if it is real. This method of launching it makes it more sure that copies will be on the market quickly rather than a 3-6 month window were they are selling a killer machine.

thus another reason not to get involved or hopeful with this tech.

Are the guys that made the KNC Titan have any connection to this? It took Bitmain 3 years to catch up to KNC. Just wanted to ask because it is norway instead of sweden this time.

So far, all this has not been determined by specific dates and cost, except that presumably the start of sales is scheduled for April 2023 and the price according to some data will be $1000 for 1gh, at least that's what they say on their forum.

I'd agree...but no $$$ until the proof of concept ASIC USB chip comes out....so we shall see. I can wait for that I guess and the fair launch plan.

here is the talk at the LTC summit last Oct 2022

https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=5hMAyqK1ztg

so as always with crypto we shall see....he sure pushed my buttons on how I'd like to launch something like this if it exists! Smiley
