Also, a large amount of exit nodes are compromised so the amount of anonymity you are actually getting is questionable if you are just blindly using it.
There are no exit nodes involved when connecting to a hidden service.

OK, so I guess you can hack any server without knowing it's location/ip right?
Right. You don't need a location or IP to hack a server, you need a network connection. You need to be able to send and receive datagrams to and from the server. It doesn't matter how you connect to the server, if you can connect to it, you can hack it through that connection. Hopefully it goes without saying that you don't need a location or IP to connect to a Tor hidden service.

Tor hidden services only provide anonymity and end-to-end encryption. Nothing more.

Finally a proper response.
Thank you Smiley

Can I ask if Tor was to be used, would it not provide more security?

You're aware he's already answering your question right?
That Tor does not provide more security...

Can you stop being such a dick please?
Thank you  Smiley

I'm not being a dick. I'm telling you you're wrong.
Stop being stubborn for a moment and actually read what several posters are trying to explain you.

You are being a dick by the way you respond.

You could have explained things but instead you were calling me things.
That's why you are being a dick.

I highly recommend that next time you provide valid info before you call people stupid and ignorant.
That would make your arguement more acceptable  Wink

That being said and since you know so much on the subject then maybe you can clear this out for me:
How comes the U.S. and U.K. secret services COULDN'T hack the Silk Road website?

They depended on DPR's mistakes.

So once again, to my original question: Does it not provide more security?
Even by a little bit?

You're still not getting it. Security is entirely unrelated to Tor.
Silk Road's security is in no way any different from any site hosted on the regular web.
The only difference is the anonymity. Which indeed came into play when they were trying to catch DPR.

But hey, let's do a car analogy.

You might as well ask why a bullet didn't go through bullet proof glass on a Mercedes, and then ask why we don't use a Mercedes instead of a BMW.

Since this thread is shit, let me ask a real question here

Why is it that everytime we have a "crash", tons of stupid poster decide to make threads about them finding a "solution"?

Why are they here if they cant understand shit about bitcoin or technology in general? parasites? get-rich-quick-tards?

Both Mercedes and Beemers are Shite IMO.

I have both and they are both in the garage getting fixed.
Cheap Japanese cars has proven to be more reliable to me.....

What does that have to do with our discussion? Fuck knows, you brought it up....

That being said...

You could have explained all this things to me in your first post  Wink

Do you get me now?

I couldn't have. I didn't know how little you knew at that point.
I had to incrementally lower my expectations until it reached a level where I had to learn to communicate in "idiot".

And unfortunately, judging from your reply, I still failed to properly lower my standards to a point where a baboon could understand.
No offense to baboons. I'm sure they would have already understood they were wrong and dropped the subject.

I'm sorry I failed you. I don't speak your language. Forgive me.

Someone knowledgeable would have explained to me why my idea is stupid with VALID information to begin with.

Welcome to my ignore list you little prick.

OK, maybe you weren't talking about me but you have LOLed at a very racist comment on another thread.

And I don't like racism.
It could have sounded funny, but it was a VERY racist comment.

If that is not the case, then I apologize and I will buy you a beer Smiley

EDIT: I mean it, if that is not the case then send me your address and I will buy you a beer Smiley
