Hello!

We're excited to announce the launch of our new platform for monetizing online content. Our system allows users to easily create locked links that require payment in Bitcoin to unlock. This is a great way for content creators to earn revenue from their work and for users to access high-quality content.

Here's how it works:
  • Create a locked link at https://2see.ca and set the price for unlocking the content in Bitcoin
  • Users can then share the locked link with others and receive direct payment when the content is unlocked

Our platform is easy to use and provides a secure way for users to monetize their content and for others to access it. We hope you'll check it out and see the value it can bring to your content monetization efforts.

Thank you for considering our service!

Hey, welcome to the forum! You might move this one to service announcement board since this is related to a service not project development imo.
Have a bitcointalk ANN thread link on the website for redirecting ppl to open discussion.
And my query is how safe is your site? Does it store the data of all the visitors?

We don't collect information for any third party. The only information stored is that supplied when you create a link.

Since the unlock address specified is your own, you don't need to trust us with your coins. The unlock process happens based on public blockchain data, and I believe this is the safest method possible for an unlock address.

Users still have to trust you show the correct unlock address, and not your own address. It could be used for an exit scam: once there are enough users, you could change all addresses for your own and cash in big one time.

Is it intentional that only one user has to pay, after which the content gets unlocked for everyone who has the link?

I tested it: https://2see.ca/l/TDp1qIZq-PFP0hAXKuJaY_wK, and the Bitcoin address I used received payments in the past already. The content was instantly unlocked.

I want to be as transparent and honest as possible. You are correct, users need to trust that we are not exit scamming them. Trust is a crucial factor in most businesses, and we are committed to building a sustainable and successful service for the long term.

Thank you for trying it out. Yes that is intentional. The link is unlocked for everyone who has it as soon as the address received amount is greater than or equal to the requested amount. Address reuse is considered dangerous, so a new address for each link is intended.

I can't help but think this won't work for the majority of uses. Say you're an Onlyfans creator, and say you want to have users pay for content. It makes much more sense to have each user pay 0.0002BTC to a unique address, instead of having them pay a certain amount collectively.

Address reuse isn't dangerous, it's bad for privacy. But you're still doing it: when I set a larger amount than the address has received, your site tells me to pay the difference between that amount and the amount already sent to the address.

You could ask the user for their master public key, which allows you to generate different addresses for each link request. To avoid a large "gap" in between addresses, you could for instance start over after the first 100 unused addresses.

The primary use case we have in mind is for a content creator one-on-one with a customer selling their completed work. It allows the simple flow from payment to the unlocking of content. That collective unlocking is possible is simply an interesting side-effect.

Address reuse isn't dangerous, it's bad for privacy. But you're still doing it: when I set a larger amount than the address has received, your site tells me to pay the difference between that amount and the amount already sent to the address.

You are right again. Partial payments are not really intended though.

You could ask the user for their master public key, which allows you to generate different addresses for each link request. To avoid a large "gap" in between addresses, you could for instance start over after the first 100 unused addresses.

Thanks for the suggestion. We will consider further how selling the same content repeatedly could work, but we think some kind of account creation would be required for that use case, which is something we're trying to avoid for simplicity sake.

They don't need a third party for that.

I've seen sites that offer this for (small) Bitcoin Lightning Network payments. Pay 100 sats, get access. But I can't find it back.

Our goal is to simplify the process of monetizing content, and we believe https://2see.ca offers benefits for both the buyer and the seller.

  • The seller can create the locked link, send it, and forget about it.
  • The buyer gets faster access to the content they purchased.

Are you taking any percentage fee for creating this link or everything is free?
Services like this could be usable if it could be used offline and if code was open source, but that is not the case with your website.
Even if you don't have malicious intentions someone could hack your website and replace Bitcoin addresses with their own.

The link payment goes directly to your own address, so we operate on a pay what you want basis. You could choose to pay nothing, but we hope you choose to pay what is fair.

Even if you don't have malicious intentions someone could hack your website and replace Bitcoin addresses with their own.

We take the security of our website very seriously, and we have implemented several measures to protect against unauthorized access. We understand that no system is completely immune to hacking, but we believe that the measures we have taken significantly reduce the risk of a successful attack.

What will happen if I delete cookies? What will happen if I send an amount less than the unlock value? Can I send what is left to unlock the link?
I tried to create a link with the value of 1 BTC and when I clicked on the link I found the value 0.4304342 BTC.
Overall, the tool would be great if you made the code open source.

What will happen if I delete cookies?

The functionality of the site does not rely on cookies, you are free to delete them. Only the public blockchain data is referenced when unlocking a link.

What will happen if I send an amount less than the unlock value? Can I send what is left to unlock the link?

Yes, if you send less than the unlock value, the locked link will request the remaining amount to unlock the link.

I tried to create a link with the value of 1 BTC and when I clicked on the link I found the value 0.4304342 BTC.

If the address has been used in the past, any amount sent to the address will be considered part of the unlock amount.
