I remember hearing stories about Pele from the time I was a little kid at soccer practice. I can't say I could pick him out of a lineup or name any of his accomplishments, but I'm aware that he was the greatest soccer player (footballer) of all time. I don't think there will ever be another player who stood above the pack like he did as far as recognition, mostly because there are lots of well known players now. I hope that his family is comforted by his legacy. His name will live on for generations no doubt as the original greatest player of all time.
It is sad news for the world, especially football lovers. He was a legendary and very inspirational personality for many of us. His dedication and contribution to the game will always be unforgettable. I think the new generation of players must learn from the life and experience of the Great player of the past.
Yeah, I think the new generation players have a lot to learn from the life and experience of Pele. Humility is lacking amongst some of our so called star players today. Players who feel they’re stars and well sought after by various clubs would be proud and full of ego. Pele was none of that. Having won 3 World Cups, if anyone should have a proud shoulder, it should have been Pele.
