It does not. it works with any mining software, cpu, gpu, asic, rental, owned, everything.
If you have Nvidia GPU on your computer, download your preferred ccminer and run it like this

Look up how merged mining a.k.a auxpow works, it doesn't matter how many coins you mine, you'll not loose any hash power, so why not mine more coins? mpool.live has never mined a bitcoin or namecoin, but if a block founds, you also will be paid with bitcoin and/or namecoin.
