Really hard to answer though, I mean for the majority of gamblers, of of course, we don't want to lose to most of the time we wanted to play again and take a revenge gambling. So still 50/50, if you take it then win then good for you, but if you lose again, then it's a double whammy and if hard and very frustrated for gamblers.

I guess to combat it is to man up and take your lose and play on other days, maybe next to take some days off first and when your mind is clear then maybe you will have to think whether to play again or not and not chase you losses.

Claiming to revenge on loss for money in gambling is a foolish behavior in gambling and the psychology behind such believe of instant recovering of money lost to gambling should be discouraged entirely, as you would end up losing more.

People that engage themselves in revenge gambling are those that use money that was meant for something else or project plan to gamble with the mindset of doubling the money. Just like on your previous thread about revenge trading, this is the same which many don't advise to chase any losses because in gambling, you might lose more if you continue to gamble and chase those losses. Once you already reached or spend all your capital, better to accept that you lose and go home straight, don't ever think to gamble again in the next hour because the result might also be the same. In order to avoid any revenge gambling, better not to bring extra money every time you gamble this can limit your exposure and you can save yourself from losing more.

Revenge gambling is a serious problem in my opinion and can lead to large financial losses if we can't adjust our behaviour. I know this from own experiences very well as I struggled for several years from revenge gambling. When I first started out with gambling 18 I always a fixed budget when visiting a casino. I never had a bank card with me and only used the cash in my pockets for gambling. To problem came when facing a loss streak, and after losing 70% of my bankroll for the night I got into "I don't care about anything" mentality. It was also my brain telling me that is now my turn to win. I ended up betting my remain budget on a single bet and would lose most of the time. So the last 1-2 hours at night I could only watch my friends gamble as I already blew through my budget. It took me several years to get rid of that behaviour. In my case it never let to me recover my losses and I would only lose more money.

It's a dumb name, as there is no revenge taking place - the gambler has just lost control if their mind has gone to this place and the only person they are damaging further is themselves. There is nothing vengeful about it, as you are basically just donating even more money to the place that took all your other money before that. There are few ways to properly protect yourself from this scenario without learning discipline and self control, but these things are often beyond the abilities of a problem gambler anyway. If you do suffer from this problem, the best solution is only to remove yourself from gambling altogether, otherwise you just end up tilting and losing vast sums for nothing.

I actually call this as the "cycle of gambling" where a person would try to recover his losses by gambling again, thereby increasing the risk of increasing his losses in the process. Unfortunately, a natural instinct of a person is to fight whenever they feel pain. For example, the instinct of a man after being punched is to punch back against his opponent. Such similar concept can be attributable to gambling where a person would definitely try to gamble again in hopes of recovering their losses.

In order to combat this so called "revenge gambling", a person must only bring a handful amount of cash. He/she must limit his/her expenditures in the process and avoid any future reloading of funds to prevent this kind of unfortunate scenario.

But the house always has the favoring odds for the house to profit. Playing in another casino is already revenge if reducing the profit of the casino means revenge.

Even normal revenge in situations where one is hurt is discouraged, likewise revenge in gambling. No type of revenge is good. The best advice you get in situations where you feel hurt and want to take your revenge is that you should move on to avoid making more losses. Choosing to take a revenge is usually an example of a decisions made with emotions, and when you make decisions with emotions especially financial decision, a bad decision that will be regretted is usually made. A straight thinking person knows that it is not a wise thing to want to take revenge on a gambling site due to your loss, especially when it is your money at stake.

I've never heard of the term but it fits. I've been describing it as gambling on loss while you are frustrated and angry so yours is faster to say.

I'm not too sure, but let's discuss this. first of all, there's no such thing as revenge gambling. what usually happens is, someone wants to recover losses after experiencing previous losses. so, naturally. one wants to recover his losses after a gambling session, then make a re-deposit and hope for a big luck at the same time. why it happened, instinctively because humans have emotions. and this is very closely related to the human side of psychology, and how we respond to it. not easy, especially if you have been controlled by a high level of emotion after experiencing a loss from the gambling session that you did.

Your ego will say, that if you make another deposit, chances are you will be able to recover the losses you previously suffered. if you are lucky, you can restore it even get a big reward. but if the opposite happens, your brain will produce excessive dopamine. what is the impact, you will easily get stressed and so on.

It's really a dangerous situation when the gambler feels tempted by revenge. All he can think about is recovering that money somehow, through another gambling session. It feels like if he doesn't do that, he can't think about anything else: he can't work, eat, sleep properly... It's like an unfinished task which must be completed before going ahead to another daily activities. The heart starts beating faster, the hands start sweating and it doesn't stop until he has his revenge, or until he completely lose all his money.

If the gambler is able to figure out an exit from this trap on the middle of the process, congratulations to him, because it's really a tough challenge. I don't quite agree with you, to whom the player can take revenge? This is a common desire to recoup a defeat, but often this does not bring anything good, only leads to additional losses. If the player managed to win a good amount, or it happened that a significant amount was lost, then at this day is just worth stopping. Doing something on emotions is bad, you need a clear think when it comes to money, it’s better to calm down and think about what happened, and the next day figure out how to get out of this situation.

I think revenge isn't always bad.

Take this or your leave it, revenge is always bad in gambling, if you lose from gambling and you want to recover the money from gambling,  that is how more money is going to be lost. It's in our human nature that we always rationaliz things we do and we'll do. Take revenge gambling or simple gambling as an example, everyone believes that they high chances of losing will be far away from them and God of luck stands by their side no matter what. In contrast, we may have a car accident every time we drive out although chances are very slim but nobody believes that they will end up in an accident. The odds of winning a bet and getting a car accident might be similar and the only difference is our thinking. I guess people just make too many excuses to rationalize what they do to gain benefits while it turns out to be the opposite in many cases. Sad but true.

I don't know if they're  getting back at themselves or the getting back at the casino but I know one thing for is that they just want to recover their losses and this doesn't  end well always.
Revenge  gambling at some points isn't done consciously or let me say intentionally as the player at the moment  might not even know they're  already chasing after their losses until they blow up their account.
