I don't expect a break in another exchange that's to say that I don't expect Binance crashing down below just as FTX.

Everybody has their expectations for 2023; no one is expecting less of the year as though people need it to be better than last year. As to what @lovesmayfamilis said, it had always been an anthem since primary school that tomorrow would be better than yesterday. For those that are doing business,  they expect their growth to be more remarkable this year than it was last year, we that are into crypto are also hoping (like myself) that Bitcoin could just move up a bit and do $30k or $40k. if $40k comes, I'll smile; if it doesn't, we'll still move on.

Well I agree with this, every one of us has a different expectation of bitcoin price in the year 2023. ^{[this year]}
But most of those who expected that bitcoin will become a bull market are those people who holding bitcoin for a long time. But as for the investors, they are hoping that there is a market crash so that they can enter the market and invest.
But for me --this year perhaps does not have changes, bitcoin price will still suffer and still be hard to pump up because of the negative effect that causing around, FTX and Binance failures and the bankruptcy of Terra Luna, it could be there are more that could possible will take effect on the bitcoin price.

Who isn't expecting that it would someday rally again after knowing and seeing that all-time-high(ATH)? It's what they called as buy low then sell high if they want a profit but it might take some time before this market move to a different line of prices. The expectations that it will still go for a very low bottom is still present and possible as long as it stays at this price. I don't know how long but someday it will start to rally again and break that strong resistance. This might be just another shakers moment that works shake those weak-hands in the market before moving up.

Maybe if you're holding back your BTC you're just losing its value which is falling. But in terms of BTC amount it will still be safe. Everyone wishes like you me too. Maybe you have also experienced understanding the cycle. So hopefully maybe the economy and recession won't be the destroyer of the moment in the Halving period and after the halving. The most important thing right now is that we don't use the principal money or even all the proceeds of your campaign.

This may be a pessimistic view for some, but I do not think that we will see significant changes in prices, rather I expect that prices will collapse more than they are now. This is expected to continue until the next Bitcoin halving.
I also think there will be more new laws to restrict the uses of cryptocurrencies. This is a direct result of what happened recently with the ftx platform. This will help reduce scams and hacks, but it is never an indication that the market will improve if adoption declines.
Old projects may not be able to keep up with this, especially since many of them operate without licenses or accountability.

Keeping too much hope to see the price of bitcoin go higher can disappoint as the op have said. it is good to have average expectation of the price for this year and if luck come to be that the price go higher it is better but when you have high expectation we should remember it is not halving year.

There wont be any expectations if you don't put efforts in bringing the expectations to you, it's like in agriculture you plant then you harvest, maybe you harvest what you planted last year or you harvest what you are going to plant this year, so while setting out expectations set out  things to do that will make the expectations come to pass, our expectations won't just come and locate us just like that.

Those articles are rubbish, one of those article is cryptogeek, I hope everyone doesn't read any news from this article although this site has a good SEO, that's usually make this site show on the top of the first page.

The type of news we recieve these days you learn nothing from it apart from lies, deception, FUD, paid ad etc.
Your worse mistake would be to rely on the news.

As for expectations, the OP is right. The gravity or severity of disappointment is higher when the expectation is also higher. We can purposely lower our expectations and work harder to achieve them.

Again, when your goals and strategies are not working right for you, needless of sticking with the wrong ideas. Be dynamic and adaptic to changes

So I think everyone would expect that Bitcoin would rally again this year, and believe me I'm also rooting for it, but I realize that we should not expect too much, why? because too much expectation will only disappoint us when we don't reach our goal or target

Bitcoin has exceeded my expectations this year. I never expected the price to be this much up. I was expecting that the price will go up next year. I am just surprised that we are experiencing this sudden mini-bull run.

I don't think the worst news about the crypto sector are fake. I feel it is the opposite, most bad news about this industry are fake. I have seen many news outlets that are specialists in fabricating fake news because they want to give the industry a bad name. The good news about the crypto industry rarely headlines in most newspapers globally. But when any exchange or a crypto-related firm has any problem it will receive wide media coverage.
