I'm sure you mean that he has not won the world cup for his country but he has also won both the Euro and the Nations League. Ronaldo has taken his nation to the map because before his era, the Portuguese team was nothing to write home about before him unlike the present day Portugal. His impact is noticeable as Portugal has missed world cup qualifications repeatedly before him unlike his era where they have been able to qualify all through his days. You're right the gap is just too far to accomplish that this season. 33 goals this season seem a bit too much for him to score timing just a few games left, I believe if he doesn't reach 1000 goals this season next season surely he will reach that benchmark. Had it been he is a bit younger then I would have agreed but at 40+ you can't keep scoring goals for fun that's why I don't think he can reach that benchmark this season.

It is almost impossible for him to hit the target this season. Now only 7 matches remain for Al Nassr in the Saudi Professional League for this season, and also we need to remember that Ronaldo normally doesn't participate in the King's Cup. 7 games to be exact, there are 7 games left for this season, and there are like possibly 8-9 games at world cup, but lets face it Portugal is not that great, so say even if they are lucky that would be about 5 games for him there, and then another 34 games at the league, with some from cup and also AFC as well.

We are safely looking at roughly 50 games or more, even 60 games depending on how his teams do. He has scored 967 goals so far, which means only 33 goals left, that means if he averages nearly half a goal per game, he could technically reach it depending on it. Not bad at all.
