Profits are made in the transfer window especially from SPL influential men. The top investors in Saudi Arabia will not relent, they will ensure they table the best offers for European players. Growth is the main target for these clubs because they've fought with everything and targeting big winning. Saudi Pro League is a tough one to predicts, it's been really a hectic day for most of these SPL clubs.
The government in that country also seems to be helping to advance the world of football there. So it is not surprising that clubs that are under PIF ownership continue to buy players from Europe which could make the SPL more attractive to the world of world football. And I like that move. Because with this SPL is now becoming increasingly popular. And not only that, I also see increased competition and the strength of all SPL clubs has increased drastically. In the past, the trigger might have been when Cristiano Ronaldo arrived. But now we have seen more European star players here. Even 2 players who won the Ballon D'or are also here. Namely Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema.
Saudi Pro League is completely under government control with mostly clubs which are under ownership of PIF doing huge investments are from them for the development of soccer in this country, and they are already achieving their targets as they are having first success through win of hosting rights for the FIFA World Cup 2034 because this was their target behind having good investment in this league.

Now they are bringing good number of top quality players from the world as they are looking for more fans from around the world, and they are also achieving these as well their best and huge investment was Cristiano Ronaldo this open doors for many other players and now things are looking on track because in next season we are going to have too many big names are coming to join this league.

It's all happening due to their available sources because overall they are having no profit from their investments which are they giving to these players as salaries and bonuses in last few years.

With their big budgets and love of shows, the Saudis have made a big splash with their Pro League. They've gotten some big names, like Ronaldo and Benzema, but is this a good investment or just a way to show off? Of course, these stars get noticed, but thats only the beginning. Real success comes from laying a base that will last. That means putting money into local players, infrastructure, and a scheme that lets the league do well without bringing in players from other countries.

The government has to play a big part in this. Funding this operation, but whats the end goal? Is it just to improve their image for a short time, or do they really want to build a sports powerhouse? Everyone is looking at you. It was a risky move by the Saudis, but time will tell if it was a checkmate or just a flashy starting move.

Ronaldo extended one more season makes sense for not only Al Nassr, but for the whole league as well. Because this league got its attention since Ronaldo joined, I keep putting the emphasis on the same thing, this page did not existed on this forum before Ronaldo went there, literally started at January 4th of 2023, meaning 1.5 or so years ago, and it's now at 700 pages. Without Ronaldo this would not happen, remove Ronaldo from their history, and NONE of their transfers would get this much attention, not an injured Neymar, not a missing Benzema, nobody.

But because they got Ronaldo, we reached at 700 pages of chat here, all thanks to him and it's clear that he is a big name. You want to know how big? Messi joined MLS, much younger, could even maybe win it, where is the topic for MLS in this topic? Nowhere to be found. That doesn't mean that he will be a good player at 40 years old, but at least he will keep the attention on this league and that's why they are paying him.

There were reports that the Portuguese captain might be moving to Germany to join the Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, but this rumor was refuted. Not just Al-Nassr, the Saudi Professional League will not be the same if Ronaldo leaves. He has brought so much positive influence to the league, including the expected television rights mega deal. In terms of performance, he has not done badly, scoring 70 goals in 64 appearances for his club. He is currently earning about £ 173m per season, which might increase if he signs a new contract.

The striker has not also shown any interest in retiring from international football because he still has the intention to feature in the next World Cup if he is given the opportunity by coach Roberto Martinez. Maybe he might be considered since this might be his last competition for Portugal. The reason why we are discussing the SPL more is because of the influence of Ronaldo and other players. The SPL management invested a lot of money in not just Ronaldo but other key players. I also think that they also put a lot of money into promotion.

Al Nassr took bold step by recruiting Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United, a very good decision that they're enjoying in the current days of football. Ronaldo is the one man that haven't lost his value in football. Despite moving to Asian football, he still remain the disputed GOAT based on his incredible achievement and his presence pave path for SPL clubs to have easy access to signing European players.

Well, basically it was after Cristiano Ronaldo came to the SPL that we also started to see other European star players starting to follow suit. And the result is that now I have even stopped counting European star players who have joined the SPL. Even in the current transfer window we also see young European players joining one of the SPL clubs, such as Moussa Diaby who left Aston Villa and joined Al-ittihad. And then Al-Nassr also got a young goalkeeper from the Brazilian national team, namely Bento Matheus Krepski. And it is not impossible that next season there will be more young European players coming here. And makes SPL even more interesting. And it all started with C.Ronaldo's presence at Al-Nassr.

Beginning began with the arrival of Ronaldo with Al Nassr and of course after that more and more star players came and enlivened the SPL.
MLS is not like this, there the hype is not really as big as the SPL and of course this is truly amazing success for the development of Saudi League football to be much better and known to more people.
Discussions like this have also been discussed lot here and all about Ronaldo influence on the SPL.

Everything has gone well and Al Nassr itself has goal machine figure who has proven to be able to provide lot of influence on the strength of the team even though there are several other players who are no less great at scoring goal.
Speaking of Al Nassr, they seem to have performed poorly in the pre-season match and other surprising news is about the rumor of Aymeric Laporte departure, he has only been with Al Nassr us for one season and there is already news of his departure.

So far the big Saudi Arabian League teams are still not very active in the transfer market this season. Maybe only Al Ittihad is currently quite active in bringing in new players. The reason is that so far Al Ittihad has brought in 8 new players into their squad.
Meanwhile, Al Hilal, Al Nasr or Al Ettifaq have not been very active in the transfer market this time. Moreover, Al Hilal, as far as I know, the club made by Jorge Jesus has not made any purchases in the transfer market. Meanwhile, Al Nasr has so far only brought in one new player, namely Bento, the PR Atletico goalkeeper. Then Al Ettifaq also only brought in one player in this transfer market, namely Marek Rodak from Fulham.

So, if you look at it, you could say that the Saudi Arabian League transfer market this season is not as exciting as last season. The reason is, last season, many top European players joined clubs in the Saudi Arabian League. However, for some reason, in this transfer market, many big Saudi Arabian League teams are less active, even though if you look at the performance of teams like Al Nasr or Al Ettifaq, it is clear that they need new, better players. Maybe for Al Hilal it makes sense not to bring in new players in the transfer market this time. The reason is that Al Hilal's performance has proven to be very good in the Saudi Arabian League, the proof is that Al Hilal has succeeded in becoming champion this season. So with this, it is natural that Al Hilal will not recruit players in the transfer market this season.

But if we talk about teams like Al Nasr or other teams, I think it's clear that they have to bring in new players in the transfer market this season. So Al Nasr and other teams in the Saudi Arabian League have to really move quickly. The reason is that this season's transfer market will soon be over.

So Al Nasr and other teams in the Saudi Arabian League have to really move quickly. The reason is that this season's transfer market will soon be over.
About new transfers we were had official statement few months back as Saudi Pro League organizers announces we will have no good number of buying's in coming season with just Al Ittifaq is having some buying due to their poor result in last season and Al Ittihad also done some as they were defending champions but sadly their performance was also not up to mark, and they were badly down from the top.

They have already done good investment in 2023, but results were not as they were having mind just because of this we have some changes from them, but one thing is sure in coming season we are again going to have some good buying because many big names in UEFA leagues are already set to join after having end of their contracts at the end of 2024 season.

For current season Al Hilal were already had good squad so they do not need anything, but Al Nassr were having problems into their defense so we were expecting few signings from them, and they have already done this now most chances we will have few changes in January transfer window and then next season could be hot.

Jack Bonaventura? I don't think I'm too unfamiliar with this player and if I'm not mistaken he is a veteran player who has had a career in Italy for more than 10 years. Smiley

Seeing his career so far only defending Italian teams such as Atalanta, Milan, and most recently at Fiorentina, he must be very satisfied with what he has achieved, especially since he is now 34 years old so it's time for him to try a new adventure.

Al-Shabab came to sign him from Fiorentina with free agent status and luckily Al-Shabab did not need to spend additional costs for this transfer. Jack Bonaventura has agreed to a one-year contract with an extension option and with this it can be said that the Saudi pro league will continue to bring in other former European players.

I feel like people should be taking notes, that's the most important part. I mean if other leagues wants to have some success, I know they can't spend 100 million a year on Ronaldo level player, but they could just fix their financials for a few years, like be terrible for a few years, but get all the money they can, and then get one star level player if they can and then they will have a bigger name.

I know that most leagues can't do that and most teams can't do that for the time being, but they can invest for it, for the future. Like imagine if you spent 5 years, all just getting free players, and selling whenever someone worths something, and keep that money and not spend it.

I can guarantee you that you will be able to afford a few players with 20-25 million salary, convincing them is another story but if you do that, then suddenly you are a very well known big club and could do big damage after that, plus you would be making more money on the tv rights and what not as well. This is why I think SPL opened a path for all the smaller leagues, it would be smart decision to follow on SPL path and if the teams are in Europe, then it would be easier to convince the players as well.

This is why I think SPL opened a path for all the smaller leagues, it would be smart decision to follow on SPL path and if the teams are in Europe, then it would be easier to convince the players as well.
The appeal and popularity that Ronaldo has so far has become a magnet for European players to play in the Arab League and it indirectly also boosts the popularity of the SPL, apart from that the very large salary offer is another attraction for European players at this time to be able for improve and get better financial security when they retire, currently perhaps only the SPL and leagues in the Middle East dare to pay high salaries to players so it is not surprising that currently the SPL will be the goal of former star players for play before their careers end , the hype that MLS has will not be comparable to that of the SPL currently because money is the SPL main weapon.

Building a very strong squad will of course cost a lot of money, so that's why financially weak teams sell star players to stabilize their finances, in my opinion, but continuing to sell existing players without buy new player of course only increase the team decline getting bigger,  and playing badly in 5 years wouldn't it actually be at risk of being relegated and would make it very difficult for the team to recover in the future, I think the idea of surviving by playing badly is the worst solution that I've heard  Grin.

Really good for the club and league as a whole because there are lots of benefits that Ronaldo’s presence alone brings to the league so an additional year will really go a long way for them especially for Al Nassr because losing their last season highest goal scorer and the league’s top scorer will be a huge blow for the team.

I also don’t think that this Saudi League thread was in existence until Ronaldo went there, the growth of this thread is as a result of Ronaldo influence. it was still after he joined the league that they gained lots of recognition, the influence was immense it even draw lots of foreign players to join them.

You shouldn’t compare them (Messi and Ronaldo) in this aspect because Ronaldo’s influence is far greater than that of Messi.

If you followed his rumor, you must already know that Al Nassr plans to extend his contract. It is reported that Al Nassr will extend 1 year for Ronaldo's contract. It means Ronaldo's contract will be over in Jun 30, 2026. If this happens, Ronaldo will keep playing in SPL until 40 years old. And he may also still play in Portugal national team as well.

Source: givemesport.com
Yes, this rumor has actually been hotly discussed since last season. Maybe this time the rumors will actually come true. Considering that Ronaldo looks very comfortable at Al Nasr. So Al Nasr's offer to extend his contract will definitely go very smoothly. The reason is that many reports say that Ronaldo intends to retire in the Al Nasr uniform. Although these rumors cannot be completely trusted, considering Ronaldo's current age, I think it is quite reasonable for him to retire at Al Nasr. So in essence, Al Nasr could indeed be the last club that Ronaldo defends. Because the point is, if you think about it, in this transfer market, Ronaldo's name was not mentioned or interested by any club. This doesn't mean that Ronaldo is no longer great, but because he is very old. So you can be sure that Ronaldo will definitely remain strong at Al Nasr.

Apart from that, currently Ronaldo has not been able to give Al Nasr the prestigious trophy. So it is certain that with this, Ronaldo definitely feels that his responsibilities at Al Nasr have not been achieved. Therefore, he will definitely be very excited to present the prestigious trophy to Al Nasr. I hope that in the coming season Ronaldo can give the Saudi Arabian league trophy to Al Nasr.
I heard news a long time ago that Al Nasr were always interested in extending Cristiano Ronaldo's contract and I believe it. The Saudi League first came to the fore with a deal with Saudi club Al Nasser, so Ronaldo can't wait to say what has definitely served as a big advertisement for his club and the Saudi League. Maybe Ronaldo's time is going bad and if Al Nasser let him go now, no other club might want to buy him, so at least Al Nasser won't let him go for a small amount of money at a bad time in his beautiful career. There are rumors that Ronaldo may play for Al-Nasser club until the 2026 World Cup and he may play the last match of his football career wearing the Al-Nasser jersey. But most of all would be happy if Al Nasser extend the contract with Cristiano Ronaldo for a long time.

Ronaldo and Messi are the 2 best players in the world, wherever they go they will be the center of attention of the whole world who love them, but MLS is not as popular as the Saudi League currently held by Ronaldo, I also don't know why even though these two players are very influential in football but more people pay attention to SPL.
However, I understand because SPL recruits many potential European players after they brought in Ronaldo, many players follow in his footsteps and other reasons so that they can get a big salary, so it's natural that SPL is getting more attractive while MLS is not.
I think if Ronaldo retires SPL might sink again soon and next season Ronaldo's contract is up at Al Nassr, I don't think Ronaldo will continue to play football at the age of over 40.

Ronaldo and Messi are indeed the most popular footballers in the current era. But if we compare their popularity, I think Ronaldo is more popular than Messi. The reason is that Ronaldo has proven to be able to boost the rating of the Saudi Arabian League, which was previously rarely known to become very popular. While Messi plays in MLS, in my opinion his influence is mediocre and not as popular as Ronaldo's move to Al Nasr. Apart from that, if we assume that the Saudi Arabian League is famous not only because of Ronaldo, this is true, because many other top European players have also joined Saudi Arabian League clubs. However, I am sure that if for example Ronaldo had not moved to Al Nasr, the Saudi Arabian League would not be as famous as it is now even though other top European players joined Saudi Arabian clubs. So in essence, Ronaldo is really the key to fame for the Saudi Arabian league.

In contrast to Messi, he moved to a club in MLS, his move was indeed famous, but I think it was still on a normal scale. Because before Messi moved to MLS, many top European players had already played there. Examples include Douglas Costa and Chicharito, who have already played in MLS. So in essence, Messi's move to MLS is considered normal. Apart from that, as we know, Ronaldo's fans are really very loyal. No matter where Ronaldo goes, his fans will definitely follow. So what you say is true, if Ronaldo expires his contract with Al Nasr and leaves the Saudi Arabian League, I am also sure that the Saudi Arabian League will experience a very significant decline in terms of its popularity.

Currently there is no certainty whether Ronaldo will accept the contract extension offer because he is quite old but it would be an honor for Ronaldo and Al Nassr if both parties accept the offer.
It can be predicted that the last club before he retired was Al Nassr, the club he would defend before retiring and Ronaldo has also said that his son has also entered a Saudi Arabian football club and this is a sign that Ronaldo is very comfortable with Al Nassr and besides that it is also a sign that Ronaldo is likely to accept Al Nassr's offer if he will extend his contract.

The US Major League Soccer has a cap on the earnings of players. This rule allows clubs to pay only three players above the stipulated yearly earning of $612,500 per player. I will assume that this policy will make the league less attractive to quality players. This is because only three top players can earn a very high amount. Messi is earning in the MLS is as much as he would have earned in Saudi Arabia, so he is comfortable. But the US league will not develop like the SPL league except they attract more superstars.

Ronaldo might be the dominant force in the Gulf League, but the league is gradually developing to become self-sustaining. The league now has an array of players and coaches that is making the league exciting. And the country is still wooing more quality players to make the league entertaining. If Ronaldo leaves, the league might feel the effect but it still has some players that will keep sustaining it.

Well that's what's happening there. But I like the way the government there approaches and improves the field of sports, especially football there. In fact, not only in football but in other sectors, a lot has changed there. Some strict rules have even been relaxed to make things easier there. And yes, their big steps may not currently bring big profits, but in the long term I think the SPL can indeed turn into a big league and can bring big profits for the country itself. In the following seasons, perhaps hearing the names of European star players in the SPL will no longer be a strange thing. Because even now we are used to the arrival of top European players here.

Because it's not just great players who come here, but coaches who are quite famous in Europe are also starting to come to clubs in the SPL. I think they did quite well with their investment.
